I've worn Ray-Ban 2132 & 2140 all summer. I think the 2132s are really superior for everyday use, especially if you are doing anything more active. Much lighter weight and 'sleek' overall and just the most practical pair. However, the 2140s look so much cooler to me. They just aren't nearly as practical and are better mainly if you are just sitting around or not doing as much. Both are great for driving though, I actually somewhat prefer 2140s for driving because the tilt covers the entire bottom of the lens which is great for glare reduction. It'd be hard to choose just 1 or the other, so I have 2 pairs of each now 😃
I have a pair only bummed cause I got mine with my prescription lenses through my optometrist polarized as well.. so they don't have the Ray Ban logo on the lense. Love them though.

I’ve had my New Wayfarers, nylon, made in Italy for almost two years now. Progressive lenses from my Optometrist. Wear them 24/7, no problems, lightweight and seemingly indestructible. Along with my Clubmaster sunnies I couldn’t ask for more. 😎
Is it true the nylon on new wayfarer is inferior to acetate in the original. I read it will not hold up over time and will crack or flake :(
In my experience it's not as good as the acetate on the Original, even though it's supposed to be a strong material. The trade off though is the nylon is much lighter weight. I love the Original Wayfarer, but it's much heavier which makes it less practical & comfortable for extended use.
Measured my 55mm new wayfarer. It is about 140mm in total width (sfw)
Measured again with a caliper. 142 mm
Hey Nicolai, If you've had your frames for a while, then the temples may have splayed out a bit over time. Meaning they don't run parallel to each other going back from the frame front and will more than likely produce a wider than average SFW measurement. Click on the link below to learn more!

Are the lenses made of glass or crystal? I heard the crystal lenses are not 100% glass lenses but a blend.
Hey Manny, all prescription RayBan authentic lenses are made with Polycarbonate or Hi index plastic materials but it is not available in glass. If you do not require prescription, then RB frames can come with either polycarbonate or glass (crystal) lenses but there is no option that is a blend of the 2 materials. Hope this helps!

Which one is best matt black or polish black?
Gloss/polish black >>>> matte black
Matte black will get stained with oil from your skin, it’s not worth it. You can wipe it off but it will look gross.
Will these hold a -8.75 Rx?
Hi! Technically, yes. Although the lenses will be very thick.. Also, the temples cannot be adjusted on the New Wayfarer, so you'll likely experience some frame sliding down the face due to the added weight of the prescription lenses. A frame with adjustable temples/nosepads and or rubber accents will help grip. However, if you do plan to get the RB2132, opt for hi index lenses to reduce overall thickness. Hope this helps!

No. My Nylon New Wayfarers do not have any metal rod running the length of the temples.

Hi from Greece, about the two models, i see in your video, the black and the tortoise the code numbers for these are 2132 901 and 2132 902? The frames look very shiny compared to still photos. Do they come up with different finishes (matte) as well and other codes? Please help because I am confused... Thanks
Hello Demitris! Welcome to the world of Ray-Ban color coding :) You are absolutely correct that the "901" and "902" portions of the model number correspond to the color. There are different finishes (matte black vs. glossy black) so that explains the differences you're seeing, as well as differentiating color codes. Hope this helps!

Hi Dimitris! That frame is tortoise with g-15 polarized lenses (and yes it has a glossy finish!). Here is the model number: RB2132 902/58.
