Paul, I'm so glad you did a build with this case! I was able to pick up this case in March for $60 on Newegg and it's been sitting around my house since then but you've inspired me to start my own (first mitx!) build.
I love my 380T, certainly one of the best ITX cases on the market. Paul, Once you get back from Vegas you should up grade the mother board and do a custom water cooling loop in that build; I would like to see how you tackle it.
Hey Paul, i've been watching alot of your and other people videos lately because i had a fever to get myself a new rig. I finished my new phanteks enthoo evolv itx red/black case build like 6 hours ago (finally received all remaining parts yesterday), now im sitting here all exhausted drinking beer after i realized how too comfy i have been with my FD R4 case for over 5 years or more. I think huge part for my exhaustion is because i used NH-D15 for cpu cooling and i underestimated the size of that thing and also i wasn't planning my steps correctly/or i did go overkill regarding cpu cooling, i enjoyed building it tho it took me more time to build that it should have to. I hope to see more itx builds/list in the future too because its enjoyable to watch them, it should be mentioned that they can be a pain to make without good planning before acting especially people with less experience.
Fantastic build Paul! I have recently been a huge fan of mini-ITX cases having transitioned away from the bulky heavy and unnecessarily large desktop tower cases. I am always on the move so I need to take my PC with me and don't always have lots of room. I started out with the Fractal Design Mini-ITX but I didn't like the lid since it was too hard to open and the case was too cluttered and hot inside. In the end I got a Fractal Define Nano S having seen a couple of your reviews of the case among other UA-camrs. I am glad to see more mini-itx case reviews out there and would look forward to seeing more builds like this in the future. Keep up the good work!!! :)
I love my 380T case too (yellow). It was a fun build... I replaced the front fan with a larger 200mm led one. I had bought a large cpu cooler fan, but was not able fit it like this one in the video, so I settled for a decent Noctua NH cooler. Runs nice and quiet. Actually, I'm impressed with how everything can run as quiet as it does in that case...
I built a lan party computer for my nephew in that case and it's pretty sweet. That case also supports 120 and 240 radiators/AIOs (at 6:30 into the video you will see 2 metal bars with holes where you could mount it) One thing to note depending on motherboard's placement of of 4pin or 8pin power and 20 power you might only be able to fit a 120mm radiator/AIO above the PSU.
My first white 380T assembled December 2017 with ASrock Motherboard, Corsair PSU/RAM 32GB, 2x Samsung Evo SSD 500gb Raid 0, Intel i7 7700k, EVGA 1080ti Hybrid, and Corsair CPU watercooler. Near tight space, but all fits in, those who are trying to put almost the best inside in this discontinued 380T portable case might require little mod or no mod base on parts, and cable management to take advantage of front case fan cooling.
After years of browsing to find one, I found a new old stock one. I got quite lucky and i’m so excited. I’m usually a Mac guy, but this will be my very first own build. The case caught my eye about a year after Corsair discontinued the model. They should come back with a similar product. The portable factor is so sleek. Can’t wait to build it. 🤍
I hope you're absolutely loving that 380t case. I came back to this video to daydream about the case I should have bought but never did! Consider me highly jealous you finally found one!!
@@Donik0420 Man, I am. And it’s been a wild ride getting that case. I once bought one at a high price and it never arrived. PayPal refused to refund me. I missed an opportunity to buy a build last summer that had a case in incredibly good condition. When I saw that case for sale, It took 15 seconds for that transaction to happen. I’ll probably do a full video of my build on my channel. It’s such a cool case. Corsair should do them again.
Paul damn you, stop making me want to do more builds! My 6600k and Rx 480 already kick enough ass. But on a serious note, great little machine you got there. what a neat idea for a case. compromise a bit of the space from regular ITX, but allow for full cooling, cable management, and even some luxury.
The 380T is the mini version of the 780T. Now I have the 780T and the only complaint I have with mine is there's no power supply shroud to cover up the wiring, but other than that, I love my case.
My next build is going to be mini itx. I'd love to see something different like a crazy small build in the NFC S4 Mini or something similar on your channel or one of the other big pc channels like yours.
Thanks for the video Paul lol all 15542 frames of it, which I somehow managed to only drop 7 frames of in 4k on my old 8150 and gtx 970 lol does anyone else watch the video stats while its playing? lol fantastic looking little build by the way.
I love how your $1650 part picker build is now a $2050 part picker build. XD And here I thought I was just going overboard with my itx parts on a different build (pretty much AMD version of this). This is a pretty good example of inflation and just how much of an impact the current crypto mining boom has had on the market.
To this day I still have my Corsair 380T and man to actually make a decent cable management on this case you can take off all the plastic parts leaving you with it's aluminum frame and thinker around it. Yes you need a modular PSU on this so you can customize the length of each needed cables to make a clean route. I still love it to this day but hoping to modify the side window with plexiglass so you can see the side panels better though I have the Corsair Hydro 100GT AOE for the CPU that blocks the view even more as the other side displays the GPU 😅😅
I'm just about to finish my itx build in a couple days. 980 ti poseidon on a 240mm rad, i5 4690k, 16gb ram and Asus z97i-plus. After I get the 980 ti on water i'll start to overclock, I can't wait
bmbmunoz2 I'd love a 10-series poseidon, the idea of that gpu is genius. A german UA-camr made a video of pc with the poseidon and a external radiator which he can remove for moving the pc. So cool
Given that is an editing and gaming rig, I'd suggest an Adobe Suite benchmark, with for instance, exporting some 1080p footage to 1080p and 4K and vice versa (4K to 4K and 1080p). Then I'd suggest some games benchmark and OC possibilities (and a sneak peek on the temperatures). The reason why I'm suggesting a metric ton of tests is because Monday that exact card will be on my door so I want to see its capabilities. Thank you for your patience
I would upgrade the SSD's in the Raid array to SSD's that are RAID aware. Consumer space RAID aware drives are; OCZ Vector/VTX, Sandisk Extreme Pro, Intel 730 or Samsung 850 Pro. And any I have forgotten.
Yea they are great. I built my ITX in the Silverstone Raven for portability, but in the future I think I'm going to build ITX because I just don't need all the bells and whistles you get with the larger machines. You can get so much power in console sized cases nowadays.
Paul, would you consider making a laptop guide for the Christmas season? I have a terrible unregistered Vaio from 2011 that might have a decent i5 but man the noise and battery life! Plus it is 4 kg
As far as mini ITX cases go, I particularly liked this one but that was back in the day when Corsair made nice cases. They've lost the plot quite badly since then but hopefully they can bounce back. I've used some of their cases in the past and those that I did I liked, but fortunately far better alternatives from other manufacturers exist today. $130 does seem very pricey for a itx case. Good job on the video. Do you also take a nice monitor with you on your travels? I assume you're not trying to make this your one personal item when you fly.
Real wicked build, paul, wish i could build something like that. I build a mini itx mini monster :) Sharkoon C10 case, msi H110i pro (cryorig C7 doesn't fit), G4400, MSI GTX 1050ti 4gb, Hyper fury x 2x4GB 2133mhz, Corsair VS 550 (just about fits but blocks my usb 3 slot on Motherboard :S) Play mostly Blizzard games, WoW / Overwatch ........ works like charm.
I do like this build, can I have a suggestion, for a more affordable graphics card that will fit / work just as well. $1200 on a graphics card is out my budget.
I don't like the "fat form factor" on miniITX cases, but I can say this case impressed me (and cases rarely impress me). Easy to remote side panels and easy to remove drive bays are the most important features on a case for me. I don't care about tempered glass, fan controllers, LEDs or the space constraint, I'll work my way in. I give this case an 7/10 for having those features, but not more, because it's supposed to be a miniITX case. If it was a microATX, it'd easily reach 8 or 9 out of 10.
I'd rather build in the Silverstone Ml08 (like the other one you did) for portability. Will you take this same build to the 2019 CES? How was your experience in the past?
Why not get the white version of the EXOC 1070? Not only would it match your build better, but it's damn sexy. I got myself a 960 version of the EXOC white a while back (looks very similar) and it's definitely one of the best looking cards I've seen.
Paul, I'd love to see how far you can overclock that 6700k with the Z170N-WIFI motherboard. I've got the exact same setup and got 4.6GHz out of my chip. Thanks.
The only thing I am shaking my head at is the RAID 0 on the SSD, which I would assume where the videos will be stored to edit from. 1 little hiccup and everything is gone on the storage array. ....still a cool little rig ;)
I love this itx build. Also I seriously want this case but I can't find it at any normal retailers. Where did you find this case? I've seen it on ebay and stuff for like $480. Which is just way to much.
The AMD A10-7850K Black Edition in a FM2+ Motherboard with 32GB of GDDR3 would have been perfect as the motherboards can be smaller as everything is inside the APU.
Is there any advantage to building a micro itx system for transport over getting a gaming laptop with say a 1070 in it? I understand that the laptop cpu would be weaker, but wouldn't the reduced weight and increased portability as well as reduced chance for component damage be enough to give the laptop the edge over the mitx build?
foodman6500 the main problem with gaming laptop is lifespan and heat. since they pack so much power in such a small frame, they reach very high temperature, and therefore don't usually last very long. beside, when you bring a laptop to game or work, you usually stay in an hotel, which have a tv to which you can hook up the mitx PC through HDMI.
In most travel situations I've gone with laptops for editing which works just fine, in this case it's a road trip so I figured I would bring along a full sized rig
foodman6500 it depends on your use case. If you are a student I'd recommend to get a gaming pc and spend 100 on a chromebook. But if you travel regularly and the extra cost of a gaming laptop is fine I'd go gaming laptop
You can build very small ITX builds these days. The biggest problem with GTX1070 laptop is price. Screen size can also be a problem if you want to use it for streaming and other stuff.
Nice build! Thanks for the continuing content, as your videos still are some of my favorite of the tech youtubers I follow
thank you very much! your comment makes me happy
I got one...In my opinion its still one the best cases ever designed.
There should defiantly be a version 2...with a few improvements.
I'm glad to see that the 380t is getting some love
Just as I wanted to see a 380t build
Thanks Paul
I don't know how I knew
I really like how that build turned out. The case, graphics card lighting and even that massive cooler all work really well together.
Paul, I'm so glad you did a build with this case! I was able to pick up this case in March for $60 on Newegg and it's been sitting around my house since then but you've inspired me to start my own (first mitx!) build.
can you PLEASE review RGB tempered glass VR ready edition?
i don't think Kyle has more than his prototype atm ;)

Awesome build. Turned out better than I thought. The white Hall of Fame card would've looked really cool with this set up.
TBH I thought that's what they were sending me, this is the one that showed up though :-P
Paul and Kyle should do a "Scrapyard Wars". Love the choice and configuration of ssd storage, will do the exact same on my next build. Thanks Paul.
Thank you! The storage config should hopefully help with editing, I will address that in the follow up vid

Smart idea using an air cooler! not only does it save space, but it also allows for better airflow. Keep up the amazing content! :)
Love seeing a tiny little board propping up a massive cooler and high end GPU, looks so silly + perfect
i have this same case with a 1080 in it. the case is awesome and the evga sc 1080 with the honeycomb design looks amazing with the white 380t case
Great build the most well rounded ive seen so far! If you chuck a 3 gig hard drive it could be a great editing rig as well
Nice build Paul. It was funny to see the size of the CPU cooler compare to the size of the motherboard, they were almost the same size.
I'm rocking the same motherboard in my m-itx pc. Solid choice!
Neatly managed the wires.
Nicely build.
Yup, always good to watch ya do your thing! Great video's as always!
My first white 380T assembled December 2017 with ASrock Motherboard, Corsair PSU/RAM 32GB, 2x Samsung Evo SSD 500gb Raid 0, Intel i7 7700k, EVGA 1080ti Hybrid, and Corsair CPU watercooler. that mini-itx mobo looks ridiculous with the massive cooler on top :'D
Nice background music for the timelapse!

that case is by far my favorite case just a little cheaply made for how much money it was
After having this case for almost 2 years, I reeeeeally figured out how to manage the cables.
That Cryorig H7 CPU cooler barely fit's in the 380T. So satisfying:)
