Surf Tips: Matt Meola's View on Surf Coaching
So true stay in the game well worth it.not like any other sport so much work for small rewards this definitely changes just when you think going no where it starts to come together always felt you really teach your self can get advice tips etc all we got for advice was wher the beach was .
Agreed. The right boards and good advices would go along way.
What’s your advice on the right boards for someone who’s been surfing a while?
Realistically, I think in order to actually get decent at surfing, most people would have to make it a major part of their life. Dedication and years in the water. That’s why I don’t think the sport is really for most people.
Thank you! As a beginner I feel encouraged as still on the zero axis 😅

Soooo cool ! 💙
🔥🔥🔥
sounds like good advice. i'm a terrible backhand tube rider, so many dodged barrels!
🐣 huh? 'mazin!
🔥🔥🔥
True! I have a wide tail fishy-type thruster that just felt so stiff and sticky off the top! I put some Tyler Warren twin trailer fins and it did absolute magic for the board. Pure speed and flow

Mt buddy always gives me crap for riding a mid length but he doesnt understand i surf better having length. It fits my style better, and holds my lines better. These short stubby boards are like rufing s skimboard with fins. The planing area is smaller and requires more speed to hold your line. Find what works for you, dint follow trends.
Stance is king here.
🔥🔥🔥
Ripping solid man fluid smooth loose. Dosen't get much better awesome to watch .

You go on a surf trip with more than one person? Reread barbarian days. 😂
Haha sometimes the only way is to solo mission it 🤣
Here in El Paso....oil tankers cruise by pushing massive knee slappers at us. The crew...Bucky Goldstein Turtle and Froggy Foreskin Duke Kohlohemokafrappucino and me Lance Layback. We challenge you shredder shoulder hoppers to come here to Texas and ride some massive rollers.

All my 45 years surfing , Ive never seen people think they need to be so critical over everything. Just surf what you have and adapt
Volume is the most important thing for wave catching. Followed closely by rocker!
Almost like you didn’t watch the video at all
all CT level pros surf exactly same put a bag over the head and watch them surf and hardly any difference . its basically the mediocrity of pro surfing only a few stand outs that have unique styles and creative approach to surfing . HO , Florence, Reynolds , Marzo. and all but Florence want nothing to do with goon circuit! with its coaches , and trainers . the whole seen sucks the soul out of surfing! there is not much that modern society has not sucked the soul out of especially with social media facilitating the redundant flood of commercial , cookie cutter content , everybody has a mic in they're face or a go pro sticking out of they mouth. just F#$%$#$%%ing surf .
🤙🤙

Ripping 🤙🏾

Bath with vinegar after surf
🤙🤙🤙
It's better to apply heat. Take a hot glass a water or something similar and touch it the spot gently. Goes away immediately without anything in your blood stream.
Nice, I'll have to give it a try next time 🤙
The competitiveness of surfing is quite a double edged sword where somedays you get plenty and somedays you get none. Out of the 15 to 20 sessions I surf per month. I usually only get 2 to 3 good sessions. The rest are exercise, disconnection from world, and socialization.
damn dude, good for the mind at least
I am 6’0”, 170lbs, and intermediate/advanced skilllevel. My quiver is 2 sticks. 6’2”x19”x2.5” 29L & 6’6”x19”x2.5” unknown L. Taking any volume range suggestions for NS winter? I can buy one board.
Hard to say man, so many other factors than volume to consider. A good place to start is many board developers have a sizing chart for their boards. Even if you're not buying of their boards brand new, you'll have a good idea of which size to grab.
toughen up buttercup! it's not that bad just be humble, learn the rules and surf the beginners spots. if you've got half a brain you'll be fine.
Head and shoulders turn first your body will follow
🔥🤙
No speed, no maneuvers
🔥🔥🔥
