AMAZING MADEIRA SUNSET ON TOP OF PICO RUIVO IN THE SNOW!

- On this journey, we hiked from Achada do Teixeira to Pico Ruivo. We stayed at Casa Ruivo, the mountain hut at the foot of Pico Ruivo for 15 Euros per person per night. We then hiked up to Pico Ruivo for sunset in the snow and we were lucky enough to witness the most incredible sunset I've ever seen on Madeira with a golden glow lighting the clouds on fire and given a shine to the snow-covered peaks. Thanks to @PemaTravels for lots of the drone shots & that epic Hyperlapse and more additional drone by @chrislininger.
My hiking guide: I did this hike with a local guide (also a great friend) called João. He’s lived in Madeira his whole life and knows all of the unique trails (not just the popular ones). Concerteza, pagam a ''ortigões'' que apenas teem visibilidade a nivel nacional, sendo que, com o mercado nacional o nosso turismo morria a fome. Abram os horizontes, precisamos de mais e melhor visibilidade, deixem de ser gananciosos e invistam gastanto em coisas necessarias, basta olhar para vizinho do lado Canarias, que tanto sucesso tem com o turismo.

@@JacksonGroves And the "Insane" PONCHA helps a lot on how to pronounce in Portuguese, I'm not as young as you anymore, but over the years I've done most of those walks, my last was when I've turned 53, of a group of 25 people of all ages, 3 over fifty's managed to get to the summit, leaving some 20 year olds half way, not bad! some people call us "crazy" I call it "free spirits" with love for life, so every time I go on holiday back home (I live in the UK) and if possible, I love going for a "walk".
