I'm just stunned about your videos, I'm a local guy, living in Funchal, and I know that trail very well, but I couldn't imagine that snow, thank you so much for sharing. Keap safe mate.

I would like to go to Madeira for hikinh in the last week of Febraury, in your opinion could be the hiking paths closed due to heavy snow? I'm afraid of that :(
Beautiful video, I would like to go to Madeira for hikinh in the last week of Febraury, in your opinion could be the hiking paths closed due to heavy snow? I'm afraid of that :(
I tried that one yesterday, also to find the road closed due to "road works", after a while ended up finding a path from Queimadas to Achada do Teixeira which will check soon. Did you find the shelter house open? Incredible
I went up to the Plateau (Paúl da Serra), and there is also snow up there... on the higher eastern side.. Ofc no issues for a Dane to drive the the snow :D But I did not intend to drive in snow ever again, that's one of the reasons I moved to Madeira.
only difference is that the snow takes a bit longer to "run down" the slopes. Rain or snow same result. Madeira can't hold water anymore cus all the forests are gone. They are replanting.. but it will take ages for the new forests to get to the point where they can store water for the summer.

Shelter house was open! Yes was snow on road so we just walked 8 kilometers to Ruivo house.

One of the good thing about snow is that if fills water reserves and in the summer streams and waterfalls will not dry as this year
Yes they should be plentiful!

Great video, but a few more meters and you would be at the very top of the mountain, did you got there?
Come to Parque Nacional Peneda Gerês in the north of mainland Portugal.
How long do you stay on Madeira?... We hope that we can meet you some day :)... *edit* lol ^^... it was really open :D
There were a few meters left :( to the top
Does not snow often even there
