Manhunt continues for Maine shooting suspect; Families, friends remember victims

The manhunt continued Friday for the suspect in the mass shootings that killed 18 people and injured 13 in Lewiston, Maine, on Wednesday night. Authorities are searching for 40-year-old Robert Card, Maine Public Safety Commissioner Mike Sauschuck told reporters during a news conference Thursday. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous. CBS News' Bradley Blackburn and Elaine Quijano have more on the search for Card and what we're learning about the victims.

It seems that all the perpetrator has to do is to watch the news to find where they are looking for him and the various theories; and then react to avoid where they are looking for him. Sometimes the news, in their eagerness to present all of the news does a disservice to the authorities by divulging too much information.

We only had 29 murders last year with 15 being domestic violence (which is the worst issue we face in our state). This gentleman almost hit our # in one night. I dont think we need to get more strict with guns...Maine has the highest # of gun owners with the lowest # of violence per capita. What we need is more mental health support for people!! And yes...the red flag law DEF needs to be enacted here if its not already!

Everybody talks about mental illness but I see an individual that is pretty functional. He drove himself to those places and he knows exactly what he did that's why he's on the run trying to not get caught. If he was to be brought to justice I wouldn't want him to pull the insanity card. He needs to pay heavily for his evil deed.

I would assume he has a smart phone and they are looking into places he has visited in the past as a hint to where he could be headed if he is on the run.
