Take it back to HF and they will replace it! Sounds like it may have a thermal switch that’s tripping.
@@EvanWolfe-ec2fk sounds like a culprit no doubt
I own one for three-year now and now the battery will get thru 6 cut and the batteries are out of power. Anyone else having this issue?
I never run it very long but I’m
Not suprised to hear that! Harbor freight is usually great with most stuff but definitely not these 🤦♂️
Idk if you got a new one, but you can hear the rpm’s are down. Might be a bad motor. Did you replace it yet?
@@gmeister03 no not yet
@@gmeister03 it was never right
Have you tried contacting Atlas? That thing almost sounds like it has that arcing growl to it, like it’s not getting full voltage. It definitely doesn’t sound right. I’m guessing it sounded like that from day one
No, I didn’t bother getting in contact with them. Most of the harbor freight stuff that I have bought has been excellent. This is really the first Doug that I have gotten from them. Maybe they would do something who knows
@@timberandtools They’ve surprised us before with covering stuff like that with parts or a replacement. Most of the time we get the extended warranty with anything HF. Would a corded electric work for the woodshed if you take power off the boiler? I’m not sure the breaker and wiring size or what else you use the battery saw for. I see used-ish corded saws, in our area, all the time in the 10-20 dollar range. Just a thought.
@@PurpleNovember I could make it work, don’t have power out there except to the boiler itself right now
Try putting the original bar and chain back on and see if it cuts any better. Thanks for the video.
It is exactly the same with bar it came with. I am using this one because it’s 16 inches instead of 18 and I thought it might help but it did not.
could it be that the bar and chain are not good for the chainsaw.. maybe a thinner bar like the original is needed.
No definitely not the case. I had the same effect with the original bar and chain. I reduced the bar size down to 16 inches in hopes that it was going to help with no change at all.
That's crazy I guess I just got lucky buying a good one an a battery I'm having no problem cutting through soft wood like juniper or seeder 👍
Yeah think this is just a dud, others have said the same as yours and others have said there’s was junk. Guess just a toss up!
I've had pretty good luck with mine
That’s good to hear 👌🏻 I love HFT and rarely get a dud product from them!!
Yeah... most people have a good experience with that saw. I believe your just one of those kind of guys who will down a product when your the problem. Don't leave your battery powered ANYTHING laying on the ground, it will ruin the battery. And if your just trolling to try to get people in the comments for engagement find a better way.....be better broham. Be better.
Lol....
@@MountainMythos yeah, I guess you haven’t looked at the rest of my UA-cam channel… I guess you need to be better🤣
I love mine. I use the xtreme batteries. Plenty of power and cuts a long time. I think you probably have. Bad battery. If it’s not the battery it’s an issue with the chainsaw.
Two batteries so def a saw issue! Tbh first bad hft tool I’ve gotten in a long time
@@timberandtools it happens..I get the two year replacement when I get something from them.
@@brandonblankenship5293 not a bad idea!
I always get the 2 year replacement and then before 2 years is up get a new one and add replacement again. I saw a few reviews like that. Same issue as u.
@@Derrek4Real yeah it works for my needs as I only make small cuts with it but it sucks for sure ! The warranty is worth it
👍
👊🏻
There definitely something wrong with it. Mine doesn’t do that.
Yeah for sure, bummed out most HfT stuff has been great for me
Actually it's a good thing . Ever notice on a gas chainsaw you get half way through and it binds up ......we'll this is just the same thing only it shuts the chain saw off to protect it . Same way with the lawnmower ect
@@mike7044863 no it’s not that at all. It’s legitimately broken. I run a chainsaw for a living and this isn’t binding or getting cut in the cut…
@timberandtools I have the 80volt lawnmower and its the bomb . Yet it will shut down if I hit a hayfield . I think as long as you keep the blade xtra sharp it'll make a diff. I've seen a few other vids and they seem pleased with it
@@mike7044863 I have the 80v weed wacker and it’s great. This chainsaw sucks lol it is definitely broken.
@timberandtools ya I got the weed Wacker as well . Batt on lawnmower obviously goes out quicker under stress but I can do my back yard , front yard and both of my neighbors front yards with 2 bars left on batt after I'm done . Chain saw I'm sure that blade needs to be sharpened each use .....I sharpen my own with a dremel while it's on the saw so I'm going to give this a shot
@@mike7044863 chain was sharp, even put a smaller 16” bar on it too same
Absolutely total piece of crap. Mine didn't last a year. Won't run more than twenty minutes. I mean it is trash.
Usually HFT doesn’t let me down !
