  • More to see around the garden here in North Devon even in November. Wonderful berries on Photinia glomerata (wrongly labelled Photinia glabra in the video - apologies) and Photinia beauverdiana. Autumn colours of course on Acers especially Acer japonicum ‘Osakazuki’ and a young Sorbaronia. The hardy citrus Poncirus trifoliata is decorated with fruits like tangerines but they taste horrible!

So nice to see all the Autumn colours in your garden. Your Acers are looking stunning. You've captured them just at the right time. How old is Bertie? He's a lovely little dog.

Thanks Wendy. Yes, The acers are great but we only have rather muted colours here in the south west mostly otherwise. Still they are still wonderful if subtle. Yes, Bertie is a lovely dog with an excellent temperament. He is 5 soon to be 6 on Boxing Day and a great companion round the garden.

Thank you ever so much for all the information and inspiring views! Each month, after your video journey, I have something to add up to my plants wish list ... Could you please tell what species or variety of is the white passiflora on the wall, next to the cestrum Cretan Purple?

Thanks for watching and you kind comments. The white passion flower is ‘Constance Elliot’ and one of the hardiest. A lovely sweet scent as a bonus. I have to correct an error (!) the Large photinia is P. glomerata not P. glabra.

Thank you! I shall try to grow this passion flower next year at my place, also outside, on the south facing wall, We'll see how it fares ... @@johnmarston2699

Can you tell me what varieties are the autumm camellias shown early in the video? You mention Hugh Evans the mid pink one but there is a white one and darker pink double shown before and after? My C. s. Hugh Evans is a much more compact tall shrub than yours? Gay Sue is one of my favourites...I think the scent on it is the best of all!

Yes the double pink is Sparkling Burgundy and the white with a touch of pink at the edge is the old variety Narumigata. Hugh Evans is two plants which the top of the Cedar of Lebanon fell on top of some years back(!) squashing them. They have not regained height but have spread enormously. The scent from that group is wonderful.
