This is a good point. It’s hard to say whether she is filtering her face, but when she moves her head there is some indication that a filter was applied. Also her chin shape is sharper than typical.
From what I could tell from that brief clip of her talking the actual mandable /jaw looks very wide still of course .. I think the op has just accentuated her wide jaw unfortunately 😐
I agree with you 100%... I'm not against plastic surgery but I don't think it was the the right move for her. It makes her look much older and her exaggerated eyebrow lift is also something she didn't need either.
My take is that she herself didn't like it and she's trying to convince us that she did. Something in her expression have me an uncomfortable vibe there.
I’ve got one side of my face visibly fatter than the other and it really annoys me, do you think it would be possible to remove just from one side and will it make me age quicker or the same as the other side?
No one should get this surgery, I suspect it will come to light in the future how detrimental this surgery is. There are far too many supporting structures the buccal fat pad cushions. That and it looks terrible. Just my student opinion.
@@melz6625 honestly, the buccal fat pad exists for a reason, it has a structural purpose. Fatty tissue, like the buccal fat pad, provides cushion and protection to the muscles and surrounding structures, including the salivary glands, the facial nerve, blood supply etc. If you're wanting to get plastic surgery, I would look at something that does not involve removing a supportive and protective structure.
@@eldermillenial how does one get rid of the impression of a sad mouth because the buccal fat is actually more prominent than the cheek fat and with the indent below the mouth making it look like you have basset hound cheeks that even droop over the jawline?
@@melz6625 I do believe some doctors reccomend a lower facelift rather than buccal fat removal. There's also the possibility that what you're seeing is not the buccal fat at all, that it's the jowl fat. Honestly, you can do whatever makes you happy, I just am of the opinion that removing fat pads that can not be regenerated or replaced is a big mistake. That and buccal fat removal often leads to a look of significant premature aging because as you get older the buckle fat pad shrinks, so something that that might look okay for a limited time ends up hurting people's looks in the not so distant future, even 5 years afterwards it can start to look too gaunt and hollow(pending age of course). These are all things best discussed with your own doctor so you can be properly assessed.
@@eldermillenial thanks for the input. Always good to hear pros and cons. I personally would lean towards a facelift but I doubt they’ll do one as I’m only 33.
She had surgery to make her cheekbones bigger years ago she just took some of it out since she gained Weight. She looks better without the big cheekbones
She looks good, I think people confuse looking young with being beautiful. Even though youthfulness is synonymous with beauty it’s not always true. There are young women who are not as pretty as an older Victoria’s Secret model..she wanted a look that would make her more traditionally beautiful and think she got that. People don’t realize the buccal fat can also make your cheeks look saggier as you get older so it’s not a guarantee to keep you looking young and fresh🤷🏻♀️
Hi Las Vegas Craig here this is the first of your videos I’ve seen. I admire your explanations in this video you obviously truly care that your patients are happy however what you are saying about who is really Candidate that will benefit from a procedure needs to be discussed not only for risk but also to educat them on expectation and results Very thoughtful and fantastic presentation giving easy to understand description of the procedure and the body type that can benefit the most form a Procedure like this one she had done by someone else. I look forward to learning more from your videos Thank you doctor. Best wishes to you and your staff always ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cheers 🍻
This is just my opinion. She was so pretty before, and I think she is pretty after. It would take a lot to make her look bad. To me is is beautiful both ways.
Quite possibly the surgeon that did this procedure to please the patient. What she does to her body is up to her. I think that if I was the surgeon I would quite possibly refuse to do this and refer her to someone who would after trying to talk her out of it. This is just like my kids wanting to have tattoos. I do not care for them personally and would not pay for them. But after they turned 18 they were free to pay for their own and I did not have to pay for any of it. As for Chrisy I wish her the best and hope that this works out for her.
I completely agree that she did not need it bc she already had the look that people go for! People put fillers in their cheeks and jaw and chin to get that look and she naturally has it! I’m glad she’s happy with her new look, but my knee-jerk reaction when I saw it was NOOOOOOO!!!! WHYYYY???!!!
I’ve always had big cheeks and Wanted to be rid of them 😂 they were huge as a teen however at 32 my face has slimmed down the last few years but I still have that younger full face look . I’m scared it would make Me look older if I had them removed
I think it depends on your face shape. I'm also asian and I don't like my cheeks it's sagging. Buccal fat removal will make your face more define the only problem with Christie is that she has a huge cheekbones which not symmetrical to her whole face
Wow, well two things. She does look great now. But she totally changed her signature look. Not sure people will recognize her now. Second, the youthful look her round face gave her will not be there as she matures. I hated the roundness of my face when I was a teen and young adult. Now I’m in my mid 40’s and people always think I’m in my early 30’s. It’s a blessing to have that natural facial roundness. But if she’s happy with her new look, more power to her.
She's crazy for this I have a round face and high cheeks. Our eyes and face are similar shaped I have a hard time with my face appearing slimmer, I've learned to appreciate the way God made me. It what's make me unique and exotic looking, Yes this is my real photo minimal makeup no retouches🌟✨
Question about the procedure: does removing buccal fat prevent mid/lower facial sag? Does the fat not add weight to the cheeks and therefore increase the downward pull on the skin and underlying tissue? If so, would this result in premature aging? I know people say that removing the buccal fat pad can result in facial sag but it always seemed like you'd get the same thing even with it there - it's more structure and weight. Would love some insight on this :)
This is the most insightful comment I’ve read. Ever? I often wonder the same thing. Frances McDormand may be an example of the burden of a herniating pad on the lower face and mouth, and the late Justice Ginsberg as well. If you have a herniating pad and little subcutaneous fat, the true influence of the pad becomes more easily identifiable.
I keep reading comments from people who say they’re so glad they never got the removal because they naturally lost it as they aged. Well, not everyone goes through that- I am 37 years old and I’m not losing it, it’s just sagging because it’s heavy. The doctor might tell me it’s jowls and maybe it is too, but considering I have scars on the inside of my cheeks from biting them constantly by accident I’m not sure ….
I do feel that her look was improved with this buccal fat removal but I hope that as she ages she doesn't start pumping back up with fillers and fat transfers because this will look horrible on her face. Her face did look always puffy to me in the before pics ( she meantions heavy drinking, also I know multiple pregnancies, and I'll bet some filler) Her face 6-7 years ago did not look so big. When I say big I am not talking about bone structure although of course that plays a role.
It looks like maybe she had additional procedures done at the same time? The after clip was quick, but the first thing I noticed, besides her cheeks, is her chin looks different to me. She is stunning before and after.
I'm glad you gave your suggestions because I have a similar face to Chrissy's before pic and I was looking for options other than buccal fat removal. I have started with botox in the masseters and am looking at jaw lipo next.
She may be happy today, but as she ages her face will change and she may want to put them back. When I was in my 20's I had round face but with time my face has changed completely, my the fat pads are pretty much gone, due to weight loss, plus I am now in my 60's, however, my cheeks still look pretty good. Thank you Dr. for sharing your knowledge.
It's not just because she is Asian. She has face structure just like her German dad with other features from her Thai mom.. And she def was never all that balanced and obsessed with looks
I’ve always wanted to get rid of my buccal fat because I have such chubby cheeks and a “baby face” that doesn’t match the rest of my body. Now, after researching, I don’t think I will. I hope it will just naturally go away with age, but I don’t want to have a sunken face by the time I’m 30 from taking it out.
What does it make you think it is the shape of the face she wants to change? I have a fuller face, and it is actually the fat in my cheeks that I don’t like which is accentuated when I smile. So it is something that bothers me and has bothered me for decades.
Excellent point. I do not know what she wanted done. I was just hypothesizing. Dynamic facial shape can be altered whereas static facial shape may not change too much after buccal fat removal.
If I have resting face my face looks slender. But when I smile omg! A lot lot of fat comes up. In my upper cheeks and also in the jaw area making my face extra full and kinda square… 😫 For me I guess is better liposuction in the jaw area with tightening 🧐 Cause my skin laxity isn’t great
It was the right move, as her cheeks looked weird, like I have never seen anyone with cheeks that stuck out like her is naturally I honestly thought that it was, botox - her look before
I love your approch of seeing what makes a women look her personal best, not cookie cutter like what Madonna did. She does not look like her younger self, she looks like A DIFFERENT person all together. Where is her cute face? Gone. How about looking at a persons younger face and trying to go that direction? See from this photo of me at 28, if now, at 62 most cosmet. Dr's would say "pull up the eye brows like Cher, plump up the lips, give her high cheekbones!" and ARG, a different women! I did have Dr. Norman Pastorek in NY do a deep plane when I was 50. I look like me, not some other young person. Would love to meet with you someday. Great comments in your video all the way around.
As you said, she already had that midfacial concavity that people seek this op for. She seems to have wanted even more definition but these depletions look like a stand alone feature, kind of like dimples, and not like more sunken cheeks.
Idk…she’s got a jawline that looks like Zac Efron now. Yes she’s a good looking lady, but in my opinion she looked better before and that’s not hating on the woman. If it’s ok to compliment someone after a cosmetic procedure that they look better then it is also ok to say they looked better before they got a procedure if they did in fact looked better before that procedure. But she’s happy so there you go.
Tiegen went from a very round and childlike face to an angular/masculine face. I think Angelina Jolie had it done. Look at her before and after pics. It could be from age as well (volume loss, fat migration, bone loss, etc).

I think she looks much better with the buccal fat removal. She appears softer and much prettier.
If she like it so much why she filtering Her face???????? Can’t really tell how a person really look like anymore! So much filter out there..
There is some truth to this statement.
I agree with you 100%... I'm not against plastic surgery but I don't think it was the the right move for her. It makes her look much older and her exaggerated eyebrow lift is also something she didn't need either.
I thought the before was the after pic, it was unneccessary but she looks more snatched now
Teigan always needs to put something out there to get the attention back onto her. No one cares about her buccal fat removal. It is a private issue.
Good point Maria, but it’s a good example for discussion. Plus, I get excited when buccal fat surgery makes headlines :)
@@jonathanzelkenmd I fully understand its the concept. Just cannot stand the lady.
I love that she's honest about it. Nobody ever is.
My take is that she herself didn't like it and she's trying to convince us that she did. Something in her expression have me an uncomfortable vibe there.
You should do a video on what features make you a good candidate for bucal fat removal .
I’ve got one side of my face visibly fatter than the other and it really annoys me, do you think it would be possible to remove just from one side and will it make me age quicker or the same as the other side?
Can you reverse buccal fat pad removal?
Hulda's Journey • thank you for letting me know!
No one should get this surgery, I suspect it will come to light in the future how detrimental this surgery is. There are far too many supporting structures the buccal fat pad cushions. That and it looks terrible. Just my student opinion.
what if your buccal fat gives you the Merkel mouth to chin line? It just looks so sad.
I LOVED her face before, it was so young so youthful and unique. Now all of her uniqueness is gone:( I hope she's happy ..
I admire your explanations in this video you obviously truly care that your patients are happy however what you are saying about who is really Candidate that will benefit from a procedure needs to be discussed not only for risk but also to educat them on expectation and results
Very thoughtful and fantastic presentation giving easy to understand description of the procedure and the body type that can benefit the most form a Procedure like this one she had done by someone else.
I look forward to learning more from your videos
Thank you doctor.
Best wishes to you and your staff always
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cheers 🍻
Thanks Craig I’ll get back to making videos soon
This is just my opinion. She was so pretty before, and I think she is pretty after. It would take a lot to make her look bad. To me is is beautiful both ways.
What kind of skintightening are the best?
I wish they would explain what a buccal fat pad is.
Yeah I don't understand. Something with the mouth..idk
the doctor speaking is beautiful
If she used as much energy on actually apologising to Courteney stodden and all the other ppl she bullied, that would be great.
TOTALLY AGREE .Her hardnessshows in her face....... vile creature
She apologised
What is perioral mound reduction?
Was that photo already retouched though?
Quite possibly the surgeon that did this procedure to please the patient. What she does to her body is up to her. I think that if I was the surgeon I would quite possibly refuse to do this and refer her to someone who would after trying to talk her out of it. This is just like my kids wanting to have tattoos. I do not care for them personally and would not pay for them. But after they turned 18 they were free to pay for their own and I did not have to pay for any of it. As for Chrisy I wish her the best and hope that this works out for her.
I love your glasses. Who makes them?
Thanks Bart. Oliver Peoples
The thing that makes me sad is I think she’s making changes to deal with grief.
Please comment on Demi Moore's recent surgery. It made her face really strange.

I’ve always had big cheeks and Wanted to be rid of them 😂 they were huge as a teen however at 32 my face has slimmed down the last few years but I still have that younger full face look . I’m scared it would make
Me look older if I had them removed
oh no, I hadn't heard about her having this done. She is so beautiful, it's sad that she feels the need to do this to her face.
shes probably bullied the surgeon ino doing it !!
The picture uou found was most likely photoshopped though. I'm curious if in person she looks like a good candidate for it
I think it depends on your face shape. I'm also asian and I don't like my cheeks it's sagging. Buccal fat removal will make your face more define the only problem with Christie is that she has a huge cheekbones which not symmetrical to her whole face
That "before" photo used is actually photoshopped. But I agree that buccal fat removal may have not been for her. It is pretty niche
She looks good with it. I usually hate when celebrities change their face but she looks good
I agree and she looks BOTCHED! She looks like a completely different person.
The makeup 💄 with the filters ✨ make the job look good. The problem is that her face now looked square and big. Tragic!
What about the long term effects ?
None, that I am aware of.
Is that the surgery Kelly Osbourne had?
Yeah can't disagree you look flawless😭
@@alexischavez3238 Thanks lovely 💕💗
I think she looks one million percent better with out it. I think she made the right move. Her natural beauty is better.
As long as she is happy that’s what matters
@@jonathanzelkenmd Thanks very much for the reply. There's much to think about on this one!
The best way to evaluate your concerns is to visit a plastic surgeon who performs this operation routinely.
What kind of skin tightening?? SMAS lifting
I suggested RFAL (like FaceTite or AccuTite)
I do feel that her look was improved with this buccal fat removal but I hope that as she ages she doesn't start pumping back up with fillers and fat transfers because this will look horrible on her face.
Her face did look always puffy to me in the before pics ( she meantions heavy drinking, also I know multiple pregnancies, and I'll bet some filler)
Her face 6-7 years ago did not look so big. When I say big I am not talking about bone structure although of course that plays a role.
I think she looks waaay better!
Asian too and my face is really round. After 30, I got a lot of chin fat now. I think that is the only thing I want to do something about that.
What about the aging process? Will she want fillers to replace what was removed as she ages and atrophies?
Perhaps?
I was waiting the whole video for you to say who is a good candidate for the procedure
Anybody who wants it and has heaviness in the front half of the lower third of their face can consider scheduling an appointment.
Oh my god, sorry but that surgery did not suit her at all.
It looks like maybe she had additional procedures done at the same time? The after clip was quick, but the first thing I noticed, besides her cheeks, is her chin looks different to me. She is stunning before and after.
Yes. Her chin looks super pointy.
I wonder if she applied a filter.
My pleasure. Glad to see this video spurring a discussion
She’s got a filter in the video so I can’t tell if it was a good idea or not
It's not just because she is Asian. She has face structure just like her German dad with other features from her Thai mom.. And she def was never all that balanced and obsessed with looks
What he meant was that Asians tend to have wider set facial bone structure, which is absolutely true on a mass scale.
@@ruchieru obvi , yes...but also white people or any kind of people also have wide structures ..her dad has
Stunning woman! She’s looking a little “Kardashian-ish,” though🧐
Her after face looks like it's starting down that slippery, plastic slope.
I have the same face like her what should I do
If so, congrats! See a board certified plastic surgeon and discuss botox to masseter, facetite
Her cheekbones was what made her standout. Her insecurity was uncalled for her so called imperfection is what made her stand out
Peri oral reduction? What is that?
I’ve always wanted to get rid of my buccal fat because I have such chubby cheeks and a “baby face” that doesn’t match the rest of my body. Now, after researching, I don’t think I will. I hope it will just naturally go away with age, but I don’t want to have a sunken face by the time I’m 30 from taking it out.
Absolutely!
In my upper cheeks and also in the jaw area making my face extra full and kinda square… 😫 For me I guess is better liposuction in the jaw area with tightening 🧐 Cause my skin laxity isn’t great
I agree that she didn't need it.
looks like she also had an upper blepharoplasty or an eyebrow lift. The crease in her upper eyelids is almost gone.
It was the right move, as her cheeks looked weird, like I have never seen anyone with cheeks that stuck out like her is naturally I honestly thought that it was, botox - her look before
Dr. Diamond is probably the same surgeon Eiza Gonzalez went to. her and Chrissy have the same exact look
im going to disagree with a lot of you... she looks fantastic NOW. i am glad she is happy.
I love your approch of seeing what makes a women look her personal best, not cookie cutter like what
Madonna did.
No because she will look much older than needed when she gets older
These girls are fearless about surgeries......
As you said, she already had that midfacial concavity that people seek this op for. She seems to have wanted even more definition but these depletions look like a stand alone feature, kind of like dimples, and not like more sunken cheeks.
Aaaawww, she didn’t get her voice box removed too?
Her face shape looks odd these days. Idk why she'd change what made her famous to begin with.
Some folks have naturally contoured midfaces.
