I might try this. I have a wraith lord with a missile launcher/bright lance, and I was about to get another wraith lord with a sword from the Eldar combat patrol. So I got the notion in my head that maybe the missile launcher one was a Dark Reaper, and the one with a sword was a Howling Banshee. I figured the Dark reaper one would be easy, I could paint a skull shape on its head. But for the banshee one, I thought I could try to put some fur looking stuff on the back of its head to look kind of like a Banshee mask (which of course is markedly more ambitious).
I’ve seen this kind of technique shown off in pictures but seeing a video of it in action has really helped clear things up. I’ll be trying this for my fur sculpting from now on!
I am making a squig army in AoS. I’ve been using a method with a slab of greenstuff and my hobby knife to create a fur critter appearance. It looks legit but I had felt it lacked dimension as in the fur really popping. This my friend is a godsend! I will reply to this comment once I’ve used your method with the results!
your video on the green stuff fur plate introduced me to that and its served me so well! but I'm definitely going to give this a go for my character models
thanks for tutorial. i just did it. But it was so frustrating. Green stuf was attaching to everywhere but the miniature. Sticked to my fingers, to the tool, to the mat. I used water, but it was desperating.
I am looking to try make some fur pelts and other cloth effects as well. When I went looking for milliput online I found different boxes. What one would be best to mix with Green Stuff?
Thank you! It's actually a skull from one of the Space Wolf kits that I cast in Blue Stuff. I'm against recasting stuff, but small accessorie bits I think are fine.

I'd love to see that if you go for it!

Thanks Chadd, I hope you'll find it helpful. I'd love to see the results. Sounds like an interesting army.

I'm glad to hear you got the fur plate, that thing is awesome. Definitely share any of your characters out if you try this technique!
There couldn't be better timing! I was in the process of looking for a fur tutorial when you uploaded this.
Haha well I hope this one can help out!
This is what I've been looking for to bulk out some old terminators so they fit with the new guys.
Thanks mate.
Happy it could help!

Sweet glad to see a new video from you again my friend.
Thanks as always Matt.
Thank you, this will be immense at helping me sculpt a sheepskin jacket on a model :)
Glad it could help. Would love to see your end results!
Great video! Can't wait to try it out on a Beastboss I'm converting up from an old Gorkamorka Nob!
Thank you! Oh that sounds pretty sweet. Would love to see it when done!
I’ve been waiting for ever for a video like this.
Hopefully it helps out!
So much better then the fur on the fw space wolf models
Haha yeah, unfortunately that's a pretty low bar. That's why I'm doing my own Varagyr!
Great tutorial, thanks so much!
Much appreciated! 😎🤟
👏👏👏 well done my friend, definitely gonna give this a go at some point
Thanks.. definitely share if you do!

I haven't experimented with the other types mixed with green stuff. I use the Standard Yellow-Grey. I think that's what most people use.
Cool thanks @@JamsMiniMods 👍
Great video, thanks! Subbed!
Glad it could help. Thank you!
would love to see some age of sigmar kitbashs from you
I do need to do some. I have a few ideas for the future.
Awesome video! I am interested in how you sculpted that wolf skull on the first ones belt.
Thank you!

@@JamsMiniMods Thank you! This is most helpful.
@The Hobby Pony you only warm it up in hot water and it cools down super quick, so it doesn't do anything to the plastic.
@@JamsMiniMods Thank you. I will have to give this a try.
How do you keep the greenstuff malleable during the process of cutting and rolling the strands of fur?
Green stuff has a pretty long curing time. So just do small amounts at a time and you should get through the process before it hardens up.
@@JamsMiniMods I greatly appreciate the response, thanks for getting back so quick
@@VirgilAspect no problem. Feel free to ask questions anytime.
If you mix too much, or get interrupted, then pop it into the freezer.
Those are awsome
Thanks Taco!
