It’s a firmware thing…then…. My remote didn’t want to connect today. Here’s what I did: 1) There was a firmware update for the remote and the camera..I updated both. 2)I deleted the remote from my x4 3) Restarted camera and started the pairing process. The remote and camera instantly paired and work great. Good luck!

My 2 devices do exactly the same. They DON'T connect.
My insta360 x2 connected easily.

mine is not working too and its updated
This just worked for me. Updating the firmware on both devices did the trick.
