A tanks survivability is more then just it’s armor. When an M1 gets hit, it's more than likely still in fighting condition or at least able to retreat, while practically all the soviet MBT's will go up in flames like it's the 4th of july. This is due to the M1 having lots of empty space, and the ammunition being placed in its storage with blow out panels. Honestly the only reason I have had issues playing as the US was just because most players only had a couple tanks, and the soviet players would have half a dozen tanks, and would just overwhelm the other team with respawns. Thankfully the US has a better lineup now with much more than just a couple M1's

Strv 122 is considered to be roughly similar in terms of protection to T-80BVM... yet it's forced to use unhistorical obsolete ammo unlike any other nation's MBTs "because it's too well armored", unlike T-80BVM, T-72B3 or T-90A :/
Why not list the 103C instead of the 103A. The C variant has a fence which prematurely detonates shaped charges improving its survivability, also gets better ammo types and a stronger engine. But I guess the 103A at its own battle rating has just much better survivability, since it faces tanks which still shoot APCBC and it can bounce APDS shells reliably.
@CHEVAPI GAMING well of course, no tank should be indestructible. I used the A and C a lot and they really do work well when you get used to their playstyle and their limitations.

can't agree, I get one-shotted even by XMs into the upper front plate, even the T-72a has better upper front plate protection letting me survive some shots even from the Abrams
@@archieewing4973 nope, T-72B uses a stronger composite layout and has a different ERA placement on the turret it also gets an ATGM and better mobility. TURMS uses T-72A armour with kontakt-1 and has a triangle-like shaping on the ERA its slower and doesnt get the ATGM, but it has better optics and thermals
Challenger 2 can withstand several shots from modern rounds? Maybe only if the enemy is stupid and if the challenger is looking directly at the enemy. Dm53 cuts thru the chally’s turret cheeks if the chally’s turret is looking to a slightly different direction. On top of that the tes’s era provides the exact same protection to that on the 2f but makes the tank heavier still, therefore slower. Pleas just do every British main a favor and folder it under the 2f so they can research the BK without a useless stopgap.

Also where do I get this citv? mod tab for the tes and both the normal challenger and the 2f use nvd in the commander sight, not thermals, which is a significant drawback compared to mbts of quite a few other nations.
I have a question, what is the most amount of SL you can lose in Ground battle? Assuming one has all crew slots, the most expensive vehicles (tanks & planes) of a Nation equipped, dies right after spawning and destroys as many friendly vehicles as possible before getting kicked from a battle?
You can TK 2 planes before being kicked. The most expensive vehicles are swedish and italian, I think. By TKing an enemy you need to pay half of its repair cost. The only way to TK a tank is with artillery or planes. Maybe you should take a look at naval as well.
the real problem with the Strv 122 is that in game it uses ammunition it never used in real life, it should use the slpprj m/95 (the one of the CV 90120)

While I consider myself a definite armor enthusiast, and have the Chieftain 10 and slowly grinding for the Challenger series, there’s definitely some tanks that have won me over with their speed. I never clicked with the M18, but boy do I love the Rooikat, and am reprioritizing my research to get the later model first before getting the Chally 1.
Prepare to suffer, chieftain 10 is slow but the mantlet week spot is smaller to the challenger, currently the challenger 2 can be pend in the turret cheeks as the armor model is incorrect
Not defending russian tanks but maybe are good against other tanks, the problem is that the T-80s are popping because of drones, javelins and heavy artillery (at least WT is correct on the artillery part)
Strv 122s can't have good shells, they have too good armor! Well, T-80BVM, T-72B3 and T-90A have roughly similar armor protection levels, but, uh... Sweden OP or something.

gajin unironically believe the chieftain is an effective tank in war thunder hense its got the highest repair cost of any 8.3/8.7 ground vehicle yet performs by far the worst . Nice logic

armorwise PLSS might be good, but Overall performance is far behind most other tanks. Ammo is just lackluster and mobility is subpar compared to most other MBTs. What use does the better armor have if the enemy has a better round and can still penetrate most places with ease? I love my 122s, but I just wish they gave it M95 already, every single nation has a top tier MBT with more penetration then sweden (I know CV90120 has it but its not an MBT).
I’ve always hated fighting the Strv 103A as a Soviet Tank. Nothing will kill it. Better to shoot the barrel and wait 20s to load and hopefully shoot it in the back before I get shot by his teammate.
Sometimes when I play the strv103 i purposefully shoot the t55/54’s engine and wait for it to turn its turret just to feel the shells boincing hopelessly off the armor. Got a death threat from a chinese player because of that lmao
The LAV AD rockets are not correctly modeled. the T92 HEATFS shell works better than the aforementioned rockets. Also your last "It's Fixed" patch broke the aim on the the 50 cal. in the commander cupola on the German M48.
I like both types of the top tier, for the light tank, I used it to play ambush, flank and also sometimes frontline when I'm crazy enough for the MBT I preferred the soviet school design of MBT it just has that very good protection in the front though some experienced player will go for the driver port but we know bushes fix the problem.
T80BVM Has same/somewhat better armour than the Strv122. Barely 4k repair cost for the BVM. Nearly 8k repair cost for the Strv122. Challenger 2 TES still has the hollow gun mantlet and the ERA is several tons heavier but has no change compared to the 2F, curious- oh wait of course britain cant have fun vehicles, forgot about that,

I prefer the meme vehicles with no armour, but high firepower and concealability... Also, killing an Abrams with a tiny SPG with a 57mm is fun. Oddly enough, my BMP2 could trade shots with a Maus and another heavy tank and I won despite being shot thrice by main cannons!
The late Leopards aren't really that well protected. I switched from being a Germany main to a Soviet/Russia main for that reason. Having tried both, I can confirm there's really no comparison between a 2A5 and a BVM.
Just so you know, the best place to ask questions is on the forums or in the comments of "The Shooting Range", but I'll answer your question here. There are already a few tanks from the 2000s, like the Russian T-72B3 from 2016 and the Leopard 2 PL From 2020.

It was very well protected in the second Dev Server, but they butchered it by release... In the Dev Server, the turret cheeks had 800-1,000mm KE. That seems far more sensible than 470-600...
I just want to love heavy tanks but in my favorite br (6.7 - 7.7) the light fast heatfs / ATGM vehicles are the most usable.... Why play with a slow tank when they are 1 shot for about everything with heat and ATGM, plus they are expensive. (Conqueror is still the best :D)
if you're gonna go after the best armored tank the t-80bvm wins the strv 122 only gets dm33 at 11.0 whilest the t-80bvm gets 3BM60 that can penetrate over 555m at a kilometer

Usable for what it is. Pretty much just a T-62 with ATGMs, an LRF, and additional composite armor that allows it to stand up to HEAT rounds and non-tandem ATGMs

Challenger 2 TES add-on armour kit IRL is designed to protect the front and sides of the vehicle against tandam warhead's and 30mm apds rounds. But currently in game it doesn't do any of this. Please do fix this and make it historically accurate then redo this video !!

From everything I have seen its side hull add-on armour should full protect the vehicle against tandam warhead's and 30mm apds rounds. I do hope that eventually it hopefully gets fixed !!

So Soviet/Russian tanks take the top spot in game, but their performance in real life seems to contradict this quite heavily.

Not defending russian tanks but maybe are good against other tanks, the problem is that the T-80s are popping because of drones, javelins and heavy artillery (at least WT is correct on the artillery part)

Strv 122s can't have good shells, they have too good armor!

armorwise PLSS might be good, but Overall performance is far behind most other tanks. Ammo is just lackluster and mobility is subpar compared to most other MBTs. What use does the better armor have if the enemy has a better round and can still penetrate most places with ease? I love my 122s, but I just wish they gave it M95 already, every single nation has a top tier MBT with more penetration then sweden (I know CV90120 has it but its not an MBT).

I’ve always hated fighting the Strv 103A as a Soviet Tank. Nothing will kill it. Better to shoot the barrel and wait 20s to load and hopefully shoot it in the back before I get shot by his teammate.
Sometimes when I play the strv103 i purposefully shoot the t55/54’s engine and wait for it to turn its turret just to feel the shells boincing hopelessly off the armor. Got a death threat from a chinese player because of that lmao
The LAV AD rockets are not correctly modeled. the T92 HEATFS shell works better than the aforementioned rockets. Also your last "It's Fixed" patch broke the aim on the the 50 cal. in the commander cupola on the German M48.

I like both types of the top tier, for the light tank, I used it to play ambush, flank and also sometimes frontline when I'm crazy enough for the MBT I preferred the soviet school design of MBT it just has that very good protection in the front though some experienced player will go for the driver port but we know bushes fix the problem.

Has same/somewhat better armour than the Strv122. Barely 4k repair cost for the BVM. Nearly 8k repair cost for the Strv122. Challenger 2 TES still has the hollow gun mantlet and the ERA is several tons heavier but has no change compared to the 2F, curious- oh wait of course britain cant have fun vehicles, forgot about that,

The late Leopards aren't really that well protected. I switched from being a Germany main to a Soviet/Russia main for that reason. Having tried both, I can confirm there's really no comparison between a 2A5 and a BVM.

Just so you know, the best place to ask questions is on the forums or in the comments of "The Shooting Range", but I'll answer your question here. There are already a few tanks from the 2000s, like the Russian T-72B3 from 2016 and the Leopard 2 PL From 2020.
The leo 2a6, t80 bvm, strv122plss, type 10, ariete pso and challenger black knight are all from the 2000 or above

because this ranking is in the game, where the NERA block it has on its lower plate is less effective than aluminium, and the breech is just hollow with a 200mm plate at the back of it, aka. Not realistic

Having a well protected tank looks awesome but for my playstyle I prefer to have a fast tank with good fire power.
I just want to love heavy tanks but in my favorite br (6.7 - 7.7) the light fast heatfs / ATGM vehicles are the most usable.... Why play with a slow tank when they are 1 shot for about everything with heat and ATGM, plus they are expensive. (Conqueror is still the best :D)

I think there is no use for an armoured vehicle with vulnerable armor... The future belongs to unmanned tanks, I presume. And these will be much, much more resilient to assaults of any kind.
I mean years back Russia fielded the armata and a new german and us mbt just got teased (I think both are joint projects and both have unmanned turrets)

Challenger 2 TES add-on armour kit IRL is designed to protect the front and sides of the vehicle against tandam warhead's and 30mm apds rounds. But currently in game it doesn't do any of this. Please do fix this and make it historically accurate then redo this video !!

From everything I have seen its side hull add-on armour should full protect the vehicle against tandam warhead's and 30mm apds rounds. I do hope that eventually it hopefully gets fixed !!
