    You were clearly wearing your motarboard while I had donned my learning cap for this video. I for one was in need of a refresher of what these words actually mean when used in discussing decor/design. Thanks, well done professor.

    I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! I’m gonna watch this one several times! What was the name of that blue toward the beginning of the video?
    I loved it!!!

      Not sure Mary Anna! If the video is not about a specific color, I might use various pics.

    Great video! Never have been a fan of the color wheel for practical color selection. There are many other and better combinations that look/feel terrific and interesting. (And green and red can look like Christmas!).

      more like Green and Red ARE Christmas! Haha! I use complementary more in the way if people are looking for something to "pop" versus a more cohesive vibe.

    I knew most of the terms, but for tint, tone and shade, I had used colour, shade and VALUE (how dark or light a colour is). Not sure how value would be incorporated into colour theory, if it even is.

      Yeah, we use LRV, light reflectance value, all the time! So, value is the same idea.

    Now I have to get me some red carpet to match my green couch ! Thanks for the advise ! 😝😂 I love watching your channel !!

      Haha! Only if you want that couch to stand out! Doesn’t necessarily mean the colors go together, but rather they will stand out against eachother if that makes sense.

    This was very helpful. Thank you. Could you do a video on your choice of color palettes for different styles? Specifically for Japandi.

    I’m very proud that I knew these! Except sometimes I accidentally say complimentary and people drag me in the comments section. 😂

    Can "hue" and "undertone" be used interchangeably ?

    • @thepaintpeople
      @thepaintpeople  2 роки тому

      Hi Linda a hue is made up of various undertones, so in a sense yes!

    In grade school, my teacher said that the root word of COMPLEMENTARY is COMPLETE. That makes sense, yes? p.s. Your impersonation of an owl is spot on… pun intended. LOL!!
