Oh thank you! I have never been compared to her. I personally never use lip liners so I can't help you there. I just never struggle getting a crisp line with just the lipstick. And Ribbon and Myth are gorgeous picks! If you can stay tuned I hope to have an updated version up later this month as I now own all of the True Velvets.

I love velvet ribbon, but against my skin tone it really shows it’s pink undertones so I’ve been toying with getting velvet jazz for something bold (I already have muse, beauty, blush and ribbon) and this video has made me go for it! Not helping my bank balance though, but they are great lipsticks. Velvet beauty is my current favourite in the spring weather. So fun to see the shades on you! - very different than when I wear them because I have different colouring. I own Fawn, Muse, Ribbon, Myth and Decade. Only shade that really was a dud for me is Fawn - it pulls so warm/yellow nude and just looks weird on me. The rest I LOVE!!! (Myth on me is straight up berry, but I don’t mind). - I love the look of Carnival on you but don’t have the guts to put it on my lips, I think :-)
I'm afraid Fawn and Affair won't look great on me, which is why I don't own them (yet). However I will definitely buy them as now I am curious to see what they might look like on.
Great video! I love the lisa Eldridge lipsticks. They are beautiful in the gold billets and on my lips. My only con is sometimes a little dry. I have Myth, Ribbon, Jazz, Blush, Decade and Affair
I don't find these drying at all! But then again, I always use a lip balm at the start of my makeup routine. I find that really helps with the way lipstick looks, feels and wears on my lips throughout the day. So what I like to do is: first apply lipbalm, do my full face of makeup, wipe off the balm, then apply lipstick. If I use a drying liquid lip I don't wipe off the balm. Never have any issues!
Damnit Maaike, they are all so pretty. I like the first two and the reds best I think. I think I would be happy to get rid of all my other lipsticks in exchange for the complete Lisa Eldridge collection. And I agree with you that the very pale lip colours usually only look good when you go for the living dead look at Halloween. My mom used to wear a very pale light pink lip in the 80's and I didn't like it, but luckily she never wore the blue eyeshadow look popular in that decade.

Those Bite ones are very pretty too! Have you already tried the Colourpop Lip Oils? Not much colour pay off, but very nice for those muted looks or no makeup makeup days.
You know I am on a gloss trying train behind the scenes right. My makeup room currently has some glosses laid out for me to try in the next week or so. Guess what is part of it? Yup 2 Colourpop Lip Oils. I have a clear one and one with a bit of color and sparkle. I really hope to love them.

That's a great idea but one of the reasons why I love these so much is because they are so unique in their undertones. I can tell you though that Velvet Jazz is quite similar to Catrice's Demi Matt in 110 REDefine Love, but that is the only shade I have found so far that is even close to anything going on in Lisa's line.
You're welcome. I did film a top 6 drugstore lipstick formula video a few weeks ago in case you are looking for more affordable recommendations. Plus I do lots of Catrice and Essence lipstick try ons whenever they have new stuff out. I am just a bit expensive in my lipstick preferences. ;-)

She may not restock the Velvets though. She didn't restock all the velvets last year either as I was hoping to buy Affair and Fawn and those didn't come back until the fall time. Hi Myka it's amazing how good all the bright and vampy shade look on you. I'm a similar colouring, but even paler - my skin is extremely pale, my eyes are a light grey and my hair is lighter blonde. I never feel I suit brights, reds or vampy lip colours on myself. The first two shades would probably look fine on me, but they would look darker on me than they do on you. I do embrace being pale year round and only wear a hint of bronzer in the Summer. I use blush to add shape and colour to my face usually. I suit pinky nudes, rose, mauves and lighter plums. I tend to play up the eye and wear something more muted on the lip tbh - it's just a different vibe. I have tried brighter colours and reds, but my lips aren't all that big and my round face looks bigger emphasising the lip. I prefer to play up the eye on my face shape. That's not to say I don't love a bold lipstick on others though and I do appreciate the difference in how undertone makes a big difference. You suited the deeper shades really well, but as you said the coral will look better with some Summer warmth. That shade would look orange on me and anything orange looks terrible. I'm extremely cool toned and struggle to wear warmer shades on eyes or lips. I appreciate seeing lip swatches as opposed to hand swatches as lips have their own base pigment, which plays a role in the finished shade. Best wishes.
