Its an ok Zombie movie but you can’t take it seriously as an ‘adaptation’ of the book. It just stole the title, which is kinda silly. If you know you are gonna throw out the whole book, you will just annoy book fans. Vaguely inspired by movies should just come up with new titles. Had the same issue with irobot.
Hello Adam! Excellent Review as usual. I didn't know this movie was based on a book, and I take it for your commentary it's a well-written and fun book to read. However, the movie for me is one of my all-time favorites. I never tire of watching it when they show it on TV every certain time. I couldn't see it in cinemas when I it was released in 2013 so all my experience comes from watching it on TV. Another great zombie movie in my opinion Is "The girl with all the gifts" from 2016 with Gemma Arterton and Glenn Close as the scientist. It's a different take on zombie stories and I recommend it if you can watch it on some streaming channel(s). Keep on the good reviews! 👍
@@LatinW321 I think what you are trying to say is that the movie would have been a good movie if it didn’t have the same title as the original novel. Am I right?
The book was a classic The movie was aggressively mediocre and had almost no relationship to the book other than the title HBO or Netflix should buy the rights and make it into an anthology series - that way each episode and character in the book can get an epsiode. If they go long enough & run out of stories & characters from the book, they can follow the book format - character describes how they personally experienced WW Z, in the part of the world that they were in, to a reporter doing a series on the aftermath of the recently ended WW Z - with the series finale being "the Battle for The Hero City" (that was the last battle of the war, fought right here in New York City, which was a "White Zone" - no living people, all Zombies) That would be must see TV
Hey Adam, I just found your channel. It is awesome, you do such a good job of making great content in concise videos. On another note, have you ever released a reading list of your top books?
The audiobook is THE best way to experience the book
This should’ve been an anthology type series telling a different story each episode of a different character around the world
The game got this right, but it is very unrealistic as the game characters take down hordes at a time.

I can only watch the movie when I’m in the mood for zombies and I’ve exhausted my supply
Could they adapt the book into a film in the form of a found footage anthology?
