Good Video & Explanation. I'd like to see A Remake, based on the book, which I haven't read. Let me know what you think

Thank you. I hope it's worth reading. I like the movie I don't like that they call Carrie ugly in the book because it seems like they're bullying her. But I guess that's the point. I slipped through it and a school library years ago. I thought her physical description was over the top

I prefer physical books over audiobooks and Kindle/e-books but I will download the audiobook if the the physical copy has too many pages in it.

I have about 100 pages left in the book. I saw the movie like 20 years ago. The book has the minor character George Hatfield in it, the book talks about Jack's abusive dad, and it has a scrapbook detailing the Overlook's history. None of those things are in the movie. The book does not have a maze in it.

One other huge problem is the lack of mass and (angular) momentum. Acceleration, de acceleration, there seems to be no realistic constraints. It’s not even overuse of CGI, it’s overuse of bad CGI.

Like many, I saw the film before reading the book. For me, the film wins hands down. But that's because it's just SO damn good. A classic. The book is five stars for me as well, but this is one of those rare occasions of a film outperforming the book.

I have to say that i'm rereading and rewatching both recently I almost enjoyed the movie at least as much, And Jim is probably the reason why why. Also, henry cavill is fun in it too. I also liked the added swordplay. Guy was amazing

I read a condensed version of the book in a Readers Digest collection as a teenager, before I saw the film. Some of the Thingstad you mentioned in the book weren’t in the redacted version I read (missed out on the naughty bits 😄). I was at university when the film came out. My friends and I bunked off a couple of lectures in order to see the film in the daytime, as the queues were massive in the evening. All of us jumped out of our seats when the head came out of the bottom of the boat, then tried to be blasé afterwards. Tough guys huh! 🤣🤣🤣

Great work. I just read the novel. I found it disappointing, but I agree with you that the early chapters do a great job of fleshing out the moral and ethical issues involved in the decision whether or not to close the beaches. The film overall is vastly better. All the changes to the story work to the film's advantage.

I read Carrie as a high school senior and it felt relatable because my intrusive thoughts tell me that when someone hurts you, you grab them by the hair or neck and smash their skull in by banging their head against the wall. Does this make me crazy I never done it before and I try to suppress my intrusive thoughts.

You are very wrong about this. The book is so much better. The movie is a horrible racist, sexist movie that promotes sexual assault and exploitation of the disabled. In the movie, Jenny is a terrible person and Forrest has no emotion beyond stupidity. I disagree with you in this. The book is far better.

😂 the worst thing done in The Departed was combining the original movie's two female characters into one ... amongst a number of other unnecessary plots and not as well-shot scenes. I did not like The Departed at all! 😁 The trilogy of The Infernal Affairs was really well done❕ ... more twists in the back story❕ I think The Departed was like a poor copy-cat version.

Some of the practical effects are hokey? Care name which ones because I think they hold up incredibly well. Unless of course you’re talking about the “extended cut” which no one should watch over the theatrical version.

The movie was crap. Absolute crap. I was super excited to watch it, but when it was done I was super confused as to what book the director was making into a movie. The only things that were similar is that the characters in the movie had the same names as the characters in the book.

The movie is 10 times better than the book. There is no Horror element in the book. Plus , Weak Character. Plot is ridiculous. The opening scene of the movie is Epic. So does ending. Are you that kind of Guy who always advocate Books are always Better. Movies are lesser minded🤔
