Handled his first press interview well! Reminds me of a young Mark Messier. I'd put him with Horvat & Hoglander for starters so he can gain his confidence quickly in the NHL.
Turn on subtitles (Russian auto-generated) and go to 1:35 to get the Jeopardy question for "What is NOT the case when Podkolzin hits the ice for the Vancouver Canucks?"
This guy is actually hilarious guys! too bad the translation is shit, the woman is so RBF and not enthusiastic. He is very excited, got a funny sense of humor.
I remember the last time we had a stalky russian kid who needed a translator for a bit. what was his name again? oh let me just check up the rafters there....

Kids 20 n sounds like Ivan drago ahahaha damn but he’s easily in my top 3-4 fav Canucks I hope we keep him for a long time unlike what we did with bure And damn he’s already married 😮 hahaha
It’s unreal how people read into how his voice sounds and how he acts and how that makes him a beast😂 First off he’s actually on the smaller side of an NHL player. I have no doubt he will play well but bring him down off the pedestal, at least until he shows. He’s certainly not going to be a beast in the NHL at his size. A beast is like Ovi or Malkin. Try 6’3 plus and over 220 with elite skills. That’s beast material. But I hope the kid does well. I’m an Oilers fan also. Like to see all young players do well.
Now let’s talk about his stats. How many players can you find me in history that produce more points in the NHL than they do prior to coming in the league. There is no better measuring stick than the World Juniors. He never scored at a point per game rate at WJs. Again, in my mind that doesn’t summon images of a elite beast in the NHL. He’s more than likely headed for 2 or 3rd line playing time in his career. But he might surprise us and become something more. I hope he does. There are players that produce more in NHL than previously but they are few and far between.
@@reubination he is an absolute beast. Look at how well he skates with his great stick handling and amazing shot. Im not comparing him with crosby but he is a fantastic player
