Because NFPA 211 firecodes changed, you cannot reduce the clearance less than 12" unless its a full masonry wall with no combustibles. In which case, the stove could be 2" off the wall. Yes, you can customize the stove however you like. Keep in mind there is an upcharge for customizations.

How many pounds of wood can each firebox hold ?
lbs will vary depending on the type of wood being burnt. The 520/2000 model will burn 12-14 hours, the smaller 420 will burn 10-12 hours.
