I've researched many wood cook stoves, and have used one for the past 6 years to heat our home and to cook with. This looks like a nice, practical unit. But the units I and my friends who also use wood stoves are drawn to something that couples functionality with attractiveness. With so much thought put into this stove, some gesture towards decorative detailing would be very pleasant. There are many stoves who offer both a cozy, pretty look as well as functionality. And looks are important even in appliances. Eg. historical stoves are known for their fussy embellishments - but it was a selling point. So please don't forget that market niche who enjoy making their home lovely as well as practical. And yes, I know that will affect the price and so on; but to illustrate, how many 'practical' folks are out there who choose a certain style truck for its looks as long as it works as well as the plainer vehicle? Thank you and I wish you success with this stove.
I'm with you on the design aspect of wood stoves. It isn't just the Amish and the homesteaders (not all of course) that are only interested in function. I absolutely love the AGA stove simply for its looks and would happily pay the price they are asking. This wood stove doesn't have any charm its just a fire box. I wouldn't purchase it or take it for free just because the design is too simple.
Agreed; I'd rather save a little longer and go for the charm with my next stove. I did pay for extra embellishments on the one I'm currently using - which I'm very happy with - but it's not in the calibre of the gorgeous AGA. Someday when my ship comes in.... :-)
I am extremely interested in this stove, but I would like to hear reviews from other people that own it and have used it for awhile. Can you lead me in the right direction to read reviews on it?( I couldn't find any online) thanks a bunch!
just make it a bit more attractive and it's a winner. A similar appearance like the JA Coby Cuisiniere SE would work here. Glass door on the right which you offer will help make it more attractive Love the 22 gallon water reservoir option
Be very careful on cleaning out your ashes with any type of vacuum. Hot embers hidden in the ash can start a fire. I witnessed this with a relative who set his vacuum on fire. He was luck he was home to carry it outside. Destroyed the vacuum. Best to shovel out and place in metal bucket and take outside to a safe place where nothing can burn, then dump.
Great advice, using a metal bucket and a shovel is a pretty foolproof way to remove your ash and we should have elaborated on how to use a vacuum for cleaning. If you do choose to use a vacuum, it should be a shopvac or similar device that does *not* have a bag, and for maximum safety, you should always wait at least two days since your last burn to eliminate the chance of there being any smoldering embers.
As mentioned, I put the ashes in a metal bucket, and then (when I got smart about it) I'd put in a metal trash can with a lid on it outside. In the Spring, I'd put some in the garden, around apple trees, on the grass, around hardwood trees. Good nutrients that plants need and love. Another reason to have a wood stove. You can recycle back to mother earth. Thank you for producing this video. I was sorry to hear you stopped selling the Kitchen Queen, for reasons I can guess at. I was so looking forward to the day I could purchase a KQ480 from you after I move north, but after watching this video it appears the Heco 2000 has a better design. Especially useful are the front clean-out access, and that you brought back the "turbo-charger" feature! Will there be an optional warming oven for it?
Is it possible to place and vent a wood cook stove In front of a fireplace, my dinning room and kitchen is one large room, I wanted to know is it possible to replace a fireplace chimney for a wood cook stove ?
Hello, Yes, you can vent into an existing masonry chimney. If you are venting into the chimney thru a wall thimble, you must have a 36" rise prior to using a 90 degree elbow to vent into the chimney. If height restriction is a problem, you could also use a 30 degree wall pass thru to connect into the masonry chimney.
Hello, yes, we do deliver to the UK. Please email sales@woodstoves.net with your shipping port for a price quote. Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you.
The hecca cook stoves offer large firebox, reburn tubes, and a baffle system. Very comparable to an EPA compliant large wood stove. 16 hours with pine is a stretch, but we put a variable on the burn time. 16 hours is more accurate with a hard wood, or a combination of coal. Please note, this is a coal stove and when burning coal, the stove can burn up to 20 hours.
Great informative video! Thank you!

You need a masonry chimney sleeve same size of flu on stove, it will smoke up house if it's too big

Hi Sushil, the price for the 2000 Wood Cookstove base model is $2750.
I wish the camera was pointing straight at it
16 hour burn times out of pine, not buying it,this stove is not a blaze king

@@sarahchain6394 A couple of mistakes--the 2000 is NOT a coal stove, as the woman explained in the video. The 2000 does not have re-burn tubes either.
