Facts
I was in a game with 4 people who had crook we almost beat fallen with the goons
I’d rate it A-Tier. It hard carries because if you can stall with like wardens, freezers, ice blasters, cryomancers, electro shockers, any tower that reduces enemy movement or outright stuns or stops enemy movement, you can get that little bit more of dps. I personally like using warden and Crook Boss for the spawning. The units can clean up leaks, and I can refill by just playing regularly because of the warden, or electro, or even freezer! Crook boss is best used as a support/offense hybrid. Spawning offense via the pistol and Tommy goons and aswell as having a good attack. For example: I stat by placing a warden and then leaking a few to afford more farms, 6 crooks and a bunch more wardens in a solo run. I see a line of pistols and Tommy guns that act like towers but move. Please consider other towers and potential synergies and how they affect it. You can make bad towers good with certain other towers like what I said, freezer+crook boss. Freezer slows, crook boss spawns more because stalling. You can make good loadouts with bad towers, bad loadouts with good towers, etc, etc. I hope this helps anyone looking to use crook boss soon!

It’s worse than you think. It’s needs a buff to the pistol crooks. Like how Tommy crooks get a buff at max, pistol crooks should get a fireate buff at max.

You forgot to mention how he plays an animation when he spawns goons which prevents him from shooting. Lvl 1 spins his revolver which is pretty slow while max level quickly presses his headset and nods his head.
It basically works like Cowboy's money making mechanic. It isn't that big of a deal but it still is a flaw. Crook Boss is amazing right now

He forgot to say zombies lose health if they try to kill the crooks. This can help in early game if any zombies are leaked.

honestly it’s arguably the 2nd best level tower behind mortar since it’s amazing on early to mid and passible at late game (it’s bad against wave 40 tho)

I love the new rework and the unique goons for each skin. I kinda wish the new steampunk skin spawned robots.
Also I'm glad Soviet Crook Boss summons soldier-looking goons, making it feel like I'm actually mobilizing an army and not just deploying some stationary sentries. This will revolutionize my military-only runs.

In ye olden days he used to have a limit of 6 never knew why they reduced it so its mor elike restoring him back to his glory
Btw if yall wanna have fun with crook get 4 ppl afterwards all will have crook only and farm if you want to afterwards do fallen and all you do is spam crooks aswell as leveling em up. what happens is that its like 200+ npcs which legit shreds like 8 accels with commander.
Also here’s a reminder; when the golden crook boss either spins his revolver or kinda does a greeting animation with its hat, it just means it’s spawning a unit. At first I thought it had a reloading animation but nah it just spawns units (ALSO IT WILL STOP SHOOTING TO SPAWN IN UNITS)
That's straight up terrible since now its a late game tower.

when i saw too many reds on golden crook boss my first thought pop up "Damn, they should buff golen crook boss" BUT I FORGOT HE SPAWNS UNITS! This is a HUGE BUFF than before, i can finally play tds with scout, mortar and crook boss (with farm and commander ofc)

If you use it with 4 ppl it's basically instant win you can rack up so much dps its'a ble to one shot entire late game waves (and cause extreme lag)
Imagine if they did the same thing for millitary base, instead of buffing its stats, making it spawns all its units. Though if they reduce the max level spawn cooldown that would be wonderful

btw i noticed that the crooks of the crook boss can now hit flying enemies even the starting crook can hit them use that information as you will
Since crook boss got a pretty good buff maybe it's possible to di fallen with spawner only if you have teamnates

Crook boss was what I used to defend early. I am really glad they buffed it
For the lower tiers, it’s a huge buff because instead of two shotting the normals it can now one shot. This is a huge change and it’s definitely worth the fire rate decrease
The pistol crook doesn’t really shoot at 0.8 seconds when I was testing it, it seems more like 1 second or slightly longer

You forgot to mention the tommy goons start walking after a longer time allowing them to stack easier

Just remember that if theres enough units, crook boss can theoretically have an endless amoutn of DPS unless the game crashes at some point. Of course, the game ends too early for exptreme amounts of DPS from the summons.
When it does it animation to spawn the goons it can break out of a stun
Let me do some complaining. The goons hold m1911s and shoots revolver noises and the Thompson m1928 at lv3 and 4 is supposed to be an open bolt gun, but is now closed bolt when crook is idol.

Update to crook boss: Its high A tier now, can solo Grave digger mode because the later upgrades are MASSIVELY decreased in price (good), its only lacking characteristic is the range of the crook boss, otherwise amaizin, will use for early game in fallen mode from this point foward

For some reason, crook boss units can shoot flying enemies.(idk does it a bug but i saw 2 groons shooting ballon boy)
Next a golden pyro remodel and hopefully a golden cowboy buff and then the crate is finally perfect

I use eggcrypteds strat with the militants but with dj and commander, used to have scouts for starting waves but I replaced it with normal crook boss and it worked just as fine if not better cuz I went afk for a bit as well

I just restarted to play tds on my alt account. After 30 levels,I put military base and crook boss on my loadout. The view is like I'm attacking the zombies, not defending.
I tried a reworked crook only challenge on molten (no support) and reached 40, very good!
