I've been fishing all winter and skunked every outing! I learned some helpful information in this video. I just subscribed and anxious to catch up on the rest of your content. Thanks or helping out another fellow fisherman in desperate need.
Nice video! I used to catch 2 fish at a time but that was a long time ago...looks like the waters around here have less and less fish every year...Cool video!
Hi. Awesome video! I just started to learn and fish NJ waters more. I wanted to learn where to go for white perch? I have an old town canoe and hopefully try to modify it this coming season.
@@CarlitosPescaNJ Thanks Carlitos. I just need to learn the spots where I can launch my canoe or fish from the banks. I didn’t have an idea where to go. Lol.
Great video! Can you give me some insight on where I catch slabs like these from the bank-land. I live in the Philly area and really need to catch some fish. I fish alot in jersey and would love to find new places.
Perch go in fresh and brackish water. So they can be found on any river that leads to the bay. They will be in brackish water this time of year and move to freshwater in the spring to spawn. You can catch them in places where the main channel is not out of casting range or where a feeder creek empties into the main river.
@@sweetwaterfishing8931 thanks for the advice... I went out on Friday in the Fortescue area just trying to locate places to fish. No success at even finding a place to fish... most places were private property or didn't permit fishing near boat ramps... I will continue my research and keep your channel posted. Thanks!!!
My Dad told me that's how they would fish for Weakfish back in the 40s - Chumming grass shrimp, but nobody sells them at the tackle shops anymore, Great video
@@sweetwaterfishing8931 obviously not where, but how are you catching them? Seining mosquito ditches, sweeping pilings? Been having a heck of a time catching them in any quantity?
Great video man i was fishing there on land, i saw when you were lunching. Glad to see you catch them.👍 subscribing for future videos so keep them coming👍
Nice, looks like a Liquid Logic? How would vertical jigging lures work for those perch - would a freshwater NJ license be valid fishing in that area? Appreciate the video and any info.
Thanks. It is a Liquid Logic Manta Ray which is made by Native now. You can jig for them with grubs and small minnow type lures for them. Once you get them going, they are aggressive. Only saltwater registry required in brackish water. No license.
Very nice! Are you gathering your own grass shrimp? For wintertime perch fishing, are you fishing the deeper spots in your creeks? I see you’re at about 7 feet. Thanks.

Thanks. You can buy them at Absecon Bay when Dave has them in stock but it is easier to just catch your own.

Thank you. How did you do from land?
@@sweetwaterfishing8931 no so good i caught a few stripers but no white perch haven’t have luck with them the few times i tried
@@CarlitosPescaNJ It is shallow on the bank side. The stripers seem to like that flat. Bloodworms?
@@sweetwaterfishing8931 yeah. Was my first time there so i don’t really know the zone. Actually i just ask on the bait shop and they send me there.
And where's this at mey i ask?
Great video.
I just came across your channel.
Were you fishing in the Toms River or on Barnegat bay?
Thanks, keep up the great work.
Great Bay
Solid video.
Thank you. It was a fun day on the water.

@@sweetwaterfishing8931 appreciate it. Don't need specifics but is it easy to find launch spots for a kayak in that area? Thanks -

I net my own grass shrimp and posted pictures on my Instagram page. Fish the deeper spots in the feeder creeks off the main channel.
Way to power through that cold for the perch!
Thanks. It was a nice day.
Hello, Please let me know what type of bait you were using, thanks
Grass shrimp
Where do you get your grass shrimp from? Buy locally or catch yourself?
Catch myself
Wheres that place?
what size hooks do u use for them an what else can u use beside grass shrimp?
Size 4 or 6 bait holder hooks. Grass shrimp, bloodworms, or small minnows. I just posted a video that shows how to tie the rig.
@@sweetwaterfishing8931 oh ok cool do red worms work an I know how to do that rig but thank u for info an might just check it out anyway lol
Where is this location if you don't mind? I went to Fortescue all the time
Mullica
