This is my go to rig for Flounder fishing. I prefer to fish a buck tail or jig head on the bottom with a teaser 18 inches up the leader. How to fillet Flounder
Переглядів 6 тис.3 роки тому
Here in South Jersey, this fish is called a Flounder or Summer Flounder. Up north, this is called a Fluke. Today, I am going to show you how to fillet a Flounder or Fluke to get the most meat off the fish without bones in the fillets. When we are done, they will be ready for the frying pan. Sharpen your knives and enjoy!

How to fillet a fish without wasting the meat. I would suggest bleeding the fish after you catch it in a bucket of water or a cooler. This will make the fillets cleaner and taste better.

Striped Bass Fishing in Great Bay, NJ
Переглядів 2,1 тис.3 роки тому
Today, Keith and I searched for Striped Bass. We started out jigging soft baits and quickly moved on to find cleaner water. We switched to minnow plugs and found the fish. We caught 9 and missed at least 20. The Bass were on the feed and we left them biting. All catch and release. How to Tie a Top and Bottom White Perch Rig
Переглядів 14 тис.3 роки тому
In this video, I will tie a top and bottom white perch rig using twisted dropper loops. I prefer this rig because it prevents the hook from getting caught on the main line of the leader and it has minimum hardware to snag grass and debris. How To Make A Kayak Crate With Rod Holders
Переглядів 2163 роки тому
In this video, I will describe how I made my kayak crate. I designed the crate to be visible, not too tall, and easy to clean at the end of the day. This design has a tray to secure tackle in the main compartment and store tackle used more often on the top tray within easy reach. I added 3 rod holders and a Scotty mount for my Scotty light pole. I secure the crate in my tank well of my Liquid L...
How to Winterize a Yamaha F150 Outboard Engine

How to winterize a 2012 Yamaha F150 outboard engine. The parts and directions should work for any Yamaha F150 that is a 2006 or newer. The steps to winterize this engine would be the same for most Yamahas and similar for other outboard manufacturers. Search your engines model and year for parts and torque settings. I now have 696 hours on my Yamaha, I have never drained the VST or cleaned the f...
NJ Winter White Perch Fishing
Переглядів 3,8 тис.3 роки тому
Today I went kayak fishing in January for white perch using grass shrimp on a top and bottom rig. I fished the outgoing tide which was strong during the beginning of my trip. There was a lot of grass in the water and it was dirty in the faster moving water. Once the tide slowed during the last 1.5 hours, the fish turned on. Water Temp - 42 F Air Temp - 38-43 F Tide - Outgoing Bait - Grass shrim...

Hello, u know hose size /primer bulb set up
How to winterize my Colman rv camper
we have a 19.5" center console scout, any tips for navigating the Mullica river would be greatly appreciated.
My son and i just started to explore the mullica river and came across your channel and its great. will you be making anymore videos?
Why didn’t you teach that guy how to hold a fishing rod.
Hey man, hope all is well I see you have not uploaded in a couple of year's. You were starting to become one of my favorite channels because you fish all the water that I fish! I hope everything is good and you start uploading again!
Great video, thanks
Do you fog it for winter?
Fogging oil is added to the gas that is run through first.
Do you run the motor after changing the oil ?
No.
Where did you put in for this video?
You can put in at Crowley’s Landing.
Awesome, Thanks!
Were you out yesterday. Seen boat just. Like yours near LEI
My first season in great bay. Haven’t had ton of luck. Caught couple near inlet. Help🤣
Now theres theres no fish left!
Awesome video. We're out of south jersey you fishing
Thanks. Mullica River/Great Bay.
Wow awesome idea. Making one for my inflatable. Thanks
Wheres that place?
Thank you
Do you fog the engine ??
The engine gets fogged from the oil mixture that is added to the auxiliary gas tank.
Very informative video!! I notice you have trim tabs on your boat, can you comment on whether these are really needed on a 20 - 24 ft boat? I'm looking at a boat now and they are a 1K+ option. Thanks again!!
If you go in the ocean, they are needed. They bring the bow down so the waves are not ponding the middle area of the hull. They also level out the ride. I would highly recommend them.
That’s a labor of love for 4 pieces! ❤️
Great video but 20lb mono doesn't fit through the 6 or 4 size hook holes after you make the twist knot for the hook. Guess I need to try 15lb
New subscriber here, fishing for the first time out of Nacote Creek, happy I found your channel.
New sub ! Liked 🙏👏
I know leaving the engine down will drain water but j like to mix antifreeze into the miffs. Also put some in my bilge and tilt the trailer down to spread throughout the boat so things don’t freeze…
Great ideal on the twist. You sold me on that.
Cool video. I fish Great Bay when I visit family in Little Egg. We've had some success by the intercostal...
good information. thank you for taking the time. I learned something today!
Where do you get your grass shrimp from? Buy locally or catch yourself?
Catch myself
Too much work this way.
Long ride up down the Mullica !
Love the videos sir!!! I fish out of little egg harbor I have my boat there. Fluke just opened this week so I took off the next couple days to get out there. I can’t wait to get out to Garden state south in a month or so!
Thank you and good luck out there!
Good day fluking, and a beautiful weakfish. That is the stuff of dreams!
Hello, Please let me know what type of bait you were using, thanks
Grass shrimp
Great video. I just came across your channel. Were you fishing in the Toms River or on Barnegat bay? Thanks, keep up the great work.
Great Bay
Nice boat what kind??
Thank you. Sea Hunt Ultra 211.
@@sweetwaterfishing8931 sweet. I'm selling mine. Am interested in a key west bay reef 210 or sea hunt bx 22 br
My Dad told me that's how they would fish for Weakfish back in the 40s - Chumming grass shrimp, but nobody sells them at the tackle shops anymore, Great video
Thanks. You can buy them at Absecon Bay when Dave has them in stock but it is easier to just catch your own.
@@sweetwaterfishing8931 obviously not where, but how are you catching them? Seining mosquito ditches, sweeping pilings? Been having a heck of a time catching them in any quantity?
Do you run fishing charters at all during the summer
Sorry. I do not run charters.
Is it possible that the primary fuel filter part you listed is incorrect?
This is the factory fuel filter for an f150. Yamaha OEM Outboard Primary Fuel Filter Element 6P3-WS24A-01-00
You don't fog the engine?
By adding Yamaha EFI Storing fluid or and mixture of oil and stabilizer in a separate gas tank, there is no need to spray fogging fluid. I find it easier this way. If you want to spray fogging fluid, there is a small rubber boot for each cylinder. When you remove it, you can insert a red straw attached to the can and spray it directly into the cylinder. There is no way to spray all 4 cylinders at the same time unless you make a manifold out of plastic tubing.
You can also remove the spark plugs and spray directly into each cylinder. Replace the plugs and turn the engine over with boots removed so it does not start. My boat is only out of the water a couple months so I don’t bother. If you were storing it for an extended time, this would provide added protection.
Did you make the primer bulb setup your self? You just prime the mixture into the filter and run until it smokes? You want to leave the filter empty after that right? And at the end do you add the stabilizer first then fill gas in to mix it good and you don't start the engine after that do you?
Good job!!!! Like and subscribed!!!
Love watching your videos just bought a house in Mystic it is nice seeing someone shoot some videos near me
Thank you. I plan on making more as we get into the fall season. Good luck out there.
Nothing like limiting out early on a nice day! I can relate. And on a nice day, I too, don’t want to go back in early. I had a cobia follow my bucktail up on the LE reef. He seemed interested but wouldn’t take it. Great video! Thanks!
Thank you.
Nice video. Did you install trolling motor or have it done
Thanks. I installed it. Not hard to do.
Do you fill the fuel separator with fresh gas? And if not does it causes insures starting in the spring. Just got a new Sea Hunt and want to do my own service. Nice video. I live on the great Bay close by...
Thank you. Leave it empty over the winter. In the spring, I prime the engine by squeezing the bulb on the fuel line. Never had an issue. Going on 10 years of winterizing this way.
Enjoyed the video, fish up north Raritan Bay and Sandy Hook area, with all the coaching you gave Keith looks like rookie luck to me. Have a great season. Been fishing since the 50s, was around for the weakfish craze of the 80's, been a long time for the weakies to make a return hopefully it will mean being able to back a few during the season. Have a great season..... Walt
Thank you. We used to target weakfish all the time. Hopefully, they will make a big return someday. Good luck out there.
Very solid day!
or a uni knot for the swivel but i dont see why you could not use a palomar?? you realise you only need to put the swivel and not the whole rig through the palomar loop right?, and a small peg float on the top just below the swivel is also a good idea in case your line aint always taught it keeps the bait suspended off the bottom, other things are you failed to explain is that the line that wraps through the loop need to be opposite from the line that created the loop so when you make a loop by the tag line it should be the longer line that wraps through that loop and not the tag line , also you did not show that making the other dropper is more difficult since you need to send the whole rig through one of the loop this time
It's called a dropper loop. Perfect knot for that particular application.
Awesome day fishing. Love the action. Is it north or south Jersey?
