Thanks a lot for sharing the details in the video without which this trip wouldn't have been possible for us. 🙂🙏 On November 10th we were at Sakyrebyle elephant camp. Then we went to Lakkavalli from November 11th to 12th. We took two jeep safari and spotted nothing major, but on the boat safari, we spotted a leopard and heard of elephants. Even with all the commotion the leopard stayed there for a long time. We followed your advice on public transport and took the train to Shivamoga and Tarikere. For others planning to take public transport like us here are a few more details. If you are taking the evening train (Train no 12089 - 5.15 PM from SBC) to Tarikere as you exit the railway station, right outside there is a circle, which is the bus stop. The last bust from Tarikere towards Lakkavalli is around 9.10 - 9.15 PM, bus charges 30 RS. This last bus will be awaiting the train. Likewise, the last two buses from Lakkavali to Shivamoga are around 6.30 PM and 8.15 PM, bus charges 40 RS. From Shivamoga private bus stand - platform 8 you will find the bus towards Lakkavalli at every one-hour interval, bus charges 40 RS. Most of the time it is a private bus named Merchants. If you miss the busses then you are stuck most of these places are remote, so your only choice is hiring a taxi if you find one. This is the contact of a local taxi we got at Lakkavalli, Sumaka Travels - 9945628271.

On November 10th we were at Sakyrebyle elephant camp. Then we went to Lakkavalli from November 11th to 12th. We took two jeep safari and spotted nothing major, but on the boat safari, we spotted a leopard and heard of elephants. Even with all the commotion the leopard stayed there for a long time.
We followed your advice on public transport and took the train to Shivamoga and Tarikere. For others planning to take public transport like us here are a few more details. If you are taking the evening train (Train no 12089 - 5.15 PM from SBC) to Tarikere as you exit the railway station, right outside there is a circle, which is the bus stop. The last bust from Tarikere towards Lakkavalli is around 9.10 - 9.15 PM, bus charges 30 RS. This last bus will be awaiting the train. Likewise, the last two buses from Lakkavali to Shivamoga are around 6.30 PM and 8.15 PM, bus charges 40 RS. From Shivamoga private bus stand - platform 8 you will find the bus towards Lakkavalli at every one-hour interval, bus charges 40 RS. Most of the time it is a private bus named Merchants.
If you miss the busses then you are stuck most of these places are remote, so your only choice is hiring a taxi if you find one. This is the contact of a local taxi we got at Lakkavalli, Sumaka Travels - 9945628271.
