De-sampling (underwater effect) and slow melodic tunes were initially done by the S.U.C Click, specifically DJ Screw. There after it was incorporated by the northside of Houston, Swisha House including OG Ron C. So, that was introduced to me and the rest of Houston close to 22 to 23 years. We were bumping that $*** all the time smoking Swisher Sweets and poking out north to south you dig! Jas Prince attention was brought to ya boy Drake in which he was brought to Houston...listened to some slow bangin $*** he like...took it to his boy OVO 40 to Toronto and now they doing what they do!....Man said Drake has a serious hand on how things sound and what he wants....even sequencing the order of his songs.

Barney it's called degrading the sample rate. Mpcs use about 12 bits.. we typically hear 24-48 bits nowadays tho.. his sound fits somewhere in the middle. and the drums are just brutally simple, as most rap tracks are.
Its obvious the Interviewer knew nothing about Production or 40's music.
