Personally I would have preferred a full remake keeping the story the same but with modern graphics applied and a full camera rework with the added bonus of this story being added back into canon. This game gave us the best explanation as to why Jango was chosen as the clone template. The game also has references and character tie ins from the Jango Fett Open Seasons comics by Dark Horse, Jango’s origin story.
It still can be canon, which is cool. In The Mandalorian, it was confirmed that Jaster is still canon through Boba Fett's armor chaincode.

This game was so difficult. I wasn't able to beat the break out/escape missions about 30% into the game. I gave up as a kid after several attempts. My friend barrowed the game and got stuck on the same mission! I'm really hoping they make this somewhat easier.
Still buying it. Aspyr has done plenty of good ports and remasters, ignoring Battlefront. I have the original Gamecube version so I'm looking forward to unlocking Boba Fett in this version.
It's remarkable that they're re-releasing a game to PC that has never originally been on it! I'm now excited for the prospect of other classic console exclusives coming too!
I really want to be excited for this but after the classic SWBF debacle I have zero faith in anything that Aspyr does. I'm calling it now it will be a complete disaster.
Oh please. Battlefront collection wasn't that bad, it was disappointing but the Battlefront games are great at their core, I have full faith in aspyr that it will be at least playable and good to look at.
@@ajax3017 The collection was terrible. They put little to no effort into updating the game. The game had more bugs than the originals. It would have been cheaper to just get original games on their own and still have $15 to spare.
They did all the other classic games, and as a casual gamer who isn’t hyper analyzing, they were all good

I understand that Battlefront fans are upset, but people forget that Aspyr also messed up the KotOR II remake by excluding the restored content DLC. That's 2 Star Wars games in a row now.
I find it weird that UA-camrs don't seem to be mentioning that (maybe I'm just missing it) but it's important because how Aspyr treated KotOR II should've rocked people's faith in the company to begin with. Maybe fans are so shocked because the Battlefront community is much larger than the KotOR II community, and therefore they didn't care/weren't aware of this controversy prior to the release of the classic collection.
Yeah, I agree. Also, Jedi Outcast's multiplayer was omitted from their re-release a few years ago, and not all of their Star Wars re-releases have been put on all consoles and PC.
I _really_ wish Nightdive was handling all of the Star Wars re-releases instead. Their HD remasters have been amazing.
I don't want Aspyr handling re-releases of the Rogue Squadron trilogy and Battle for Naboo, that's for sure.
Apparently the RCM DLC issue happened at the last minute and they were ready to release it, but Disney stepped in. My issue with it all is they should have released it with the game instead of dangling it as a selling point. That way if Disney had an issue, they couldn’t do much about it, and if they raised this before release, Aspyr should have clarified

There were no Xbox or PC releases for their version, either. They really screwed the pooch with that beloved game's re-release.
This was my favorite game on the gamecube back in the day, even though I never completed the game 100% without cheats cause I was too young. I'm exited to finally 100% the game on my own

@@RugsterClaps The thing is, for the Tomb Raider remasters, it was made alongside the team that made the open-source port of the old games, so they had people who are well-versed and passionate about the games' ins and outs.

Those are PS3 games, so unless the leaks regarding native PS3 support on PS5 are true, it's probably not gonna happen

I think the ps2 version was better, the gameplay was great and the story was slightly different. You could even customize the look of your lightsaber and the costumes just looked better compared to the ps3 and Xbox version

If you have $18, then you also probably have $20. I suggest not preordering and just waiting for the content creators’ reviews to come in. I don’t trust Aspyr after BF Classic Collection.

Before people get bitchy and panicky about Aspyr developing this, the Battlefront remaster isn't that bad. Just online a bit janky, but everything else plays as expected and especially after all the patches. I can agree it sucks KOTOR2 didn't get it's cut content on Switch, but everything else is decent and pretty serviceable.
Personally I would love if they added an in game shop to spend bounty credits on stuff other than screen shots. Like armor and jet pack upgrades. Just to add a new layer of depth into the game that it so desperately needed. I would have added a few more collectables and certainly some fun achievements.
It must be a new control scheme. Because you didn't shoot with the trigger in the original game. So that wouldn't make sense with the new PS5 features.
The announcement surprised me on a number of fronts.
Firstly, this game was one of my childhood favourites, difficult button-mashing shootouts and all. Playing it on my PC or Xbox Series X, ported natively and with AI upscaled textures, plus with the benefit of a longer development time honestly has me excited.
And secondly, because this year, I became a Prequel Trilogy convert, and my favourite entry of not just that era, but the entire series (hot take incoming), wound up being Attack of the Clones. So being able to actually play the official prequel to that film from the old Legends canon has me hyped.
I played this ps2 they didn't sold enough to make a sequel.
All I care about is the inverted controls. Did they fix the inverted controls or not?

@rickbeauchene8694 I'm gonna level with u here, I am never pre ordering a game ever again, Cyberpunk when it came out started making me question is pretty ordering games good? Then tbe classic collection of star wars Battlefront came out this year ans that put the final nail in the coffin of me ever pre ordering a game ever again, hell I aint even gonna pre order star wars outlaws, especially with the hefty price to it...I'll be waiting until reveiws come out for both games and a discount on outlaws because 80 dollars base game is ridiculous but one thing is for sure I ain't getting the deluxe addition because 120 dollars is so dumb

Interesting....(I have an Xbox One btw) but since the Battlefront Classics Collection launch disaster by Aspyr, I'll cautiously wait to read the actual user reviews of the game and its gameplay to see if it worth picking up or it's yet another disaster by Aspyr.

I don't know whether to trust Aspyr or not, they did good with the Dark Forces Remaster, but completely fucked up with the Battlefront Collection. I would kind of prefer if they did a more typical remaster where theres new graphics, improvements to the gameplay, and much more. However, this doesn't change the fact that theres a huge hole in the Star Wars game market right now, even with Outlaws coming out soon. Even then we don't know if that game will be good or not.
Nightdive did the Dark forces remaster. Asypr screwed up kotor 2, Republic Commando port and the Battlefront collection

Will the game sort out the gameplay?when I played this before i was getting motion sickness from the weird camera angles like when you turn.not sure if there was a way to turn it off
Honestly I don't get how anyone gets motion sickness from a videogame unless the game world is actually spinning or something though that doesn't bother me either
My hope is that they fix the controls. Pushing right to go left and left to go right was infuriating. After hours of playing I never got used to it and ended up giving up on the game because of the controls.

Love the game but this is a very lazy "remaster" and certainly not worth 20, 10 max. I mean game is widely available, I am surprised to see the ps4 version still on the storefront, hope it stays too for everyones sake lol
You said it, it's a janky game. The camera and aiming was pretty bad in the original. I was hoping they would include and more "modern" control and camera option.

I hope they fix the bounty problem where all you can use the currency that you get from them is to get these cards in the game. I also kind of hope they add like an easy mode so the game is not impossible to beat

Oh my goodness I love this game. This game was a special place in my heart when I played it as a kid. I forgot about it and I'm so glad it's came back well. You see? When I was a kid after watching episode 2 I found this game. I don't know where I found it, but I played it and it was a lot of fun. Because I love the character jango, and everything so And I had a lot of fun playing it, though, no, unfortunately I got stuck in a few levels. I got stuck by the jungle area. And I didn't know what to do. Honestly and I haven't played it since and it's been a long time since I played it. Because this game holded a special place. And I can't wait to play this game Although is it coming to the PS5? Because I know it's coming to the switch, but is it really coming to the p? S five

The Tatooine levels are stupid hard for collecting all the bounties. Can't wait to try and 100% this.

There are several old Star Wars games I would definitely love to see get the remaster treatment. Star Wars star fighter and jedi star fighter, Republic commando and several others as well. And I certainly wouldn't complain if Republic commando finally got the sequel it deserved!
Aspyr maybe a bit lazy, but they never lied. They never promised big things about battlefront 2, everything promised was delivered, even tho it could have been better. I was happy with what i got, because of the native controller support on PC and achievments (could have been better too) since i use my steamdeck alot for this less demanding games.
Lets also not forget, that Aspyr made the Tomb Raider Trilogy Resmaster, that was one of the best remasters i ever saw. Plus Bounty Hunter does not exist outside the PS2 or the port on the PS4. so for XBOX, Switch and PC players, this is a huge thing to be able to add this masterpiece to our library.
Personally, i can't wait to add this to my Steam library and boot it up on my Steam Deck!

My Xbox version was fine but the PC version was busted. People know how to busted Xbox version and not PC version. But based on what happened online a lot of people had these issues so
I'm happy it's finally coming to xbox after 20 years but since it's aspyr I'll wait a bit
I hope this game ends up being good. The Boba Fett skin looks very nice and I hope we have other skins in the game plus more weapons like how cool would it be if the Darksaber was a hidden weapon.

This is very exciting, I LOVED this game as a kid, and after the SWBF classic collection, Im really hyped for this. I know people knock on aspyr bc of the BF classic collection but I really loved that game, despite it's issues, and I can't wait to play this remaster! Will be preordering...
Battlefronts issues were not just mostly online related. There were plenty of glitches and issues offline as well. All of Aspyrs ports for Star Wars have have glitches ranging from minor to major. Battlefront Classic Collection wasn't the only incident. I hate to be negative but I expect this to have issues at launch as well.

I broke my first PS2 because of this game. So many good memories...
the only issue is...its from Aspyr
but also, holy crap the boba skin looks really good. if the game turns out to run well and have no serious issues, i will be painfully getting that skin
