You should know the user interface of Blender as I am usually not explaining every click I do. That said, there is a ton to learn in this video and I recommend using the pause button or re-watching steps that went too fast for you. The trick is to doing these things multiple times before the knowledge sinks in. Perhaps you want to repeat each chapter a few times before moving on to the next steps. Hope that helps.
So alright , gotta watch this video lol, but can you tell me, if I green screen myself and put myself into Blender's 3D viewport using "add images as planes" and then what shall I do so that I can like hold and interact with 3D objects? I mean if I needed to pick up a cube , I would do the action using green screen , but I want the cube to be in the 3D viewport, so how do i like make myself interact with those 3D objects lol....I guess my question was clear? Lol
This has me thinking about combining Blender and Meta's SAM (Segment Anything Model). It would be useful to be able to mask things out of video frames and easily add CG objects behind them, for example.
Yeaayy love your videos just what I searched for days! :) Loved the vfx vid - 'how to change things in your hand'. Please keep it up it's a treasure channel!!
This is the best motion tracking tutorial I have ever seen! You really cover many things in only 44m video. Can I have your footage in this video to practice along with you? Thanks too much!
You’re welcome. I don’t have a good long term way to story the files. It’s best to film something on your own streets. It’s doesn’t have to be exactly what I shot.
21:20 you say that you have to render the objects as shadows, the subject and other details separately in image sequence format. My question here is; Isn't it possible to make these adjustments from the shader editor instead of using the compistor node editor and in this way make or add other elements in real time and finally render everything at once? Or is it that in this case we proceed to this method in order to save process resources and thus Blender runs more smoothly? Having barely used Blender for a few months, this question arises as a beginner hahhhha
Yes you can comp it all in and render it together. The reason I suggest to do it separately is that you keep more flexibility after the fact without the need to render the entire shot again, should you want to change something.
I currently don’t have found a proper way to proving data reliably long term. It’s definitely something I am thinking about once the channel has become bigger.
Unfortunately no. Like the name suggest, plane track is a 2D tracker and does not solve a camera move in 3D space. Blender requires at least eight markers to do that.
You might be a little confused as he is combining two different techniques at once. Planar tracks ONLY work for that plane. A cube is more than just a flat surface so you'd have to go to a camera track. Planar only works to paint on a surface or similar changes. It's doing what's called a "corner pin" transform which is a purely 2d trick.
hello, can you please explain how did you project the white car in the end, I guess i missed that part, because i tought just extruding it up wont work, but your seems nice in all angels
Do you mean the car on the left? This car is untouched and shown like it was shot. No 3D or 2D object is overlapping it. I did explain briefly what needs to be done if you wanted to change the car. You would need to model something that matches its position and outline and project the footage on that geometry. Similar to what I have done with the house walls and the driveway concrete
Please never stop your UA-cam channel and btw I have a idea is that you make a tutorial how to recreate blender things that other youtuber create and dont show tutorial like corridor crew r rated spiderman or those anime blender edits where they become their anime characters
i hope u reply. iam getting error when opening external editor to add those flowers that u did. it says Verify that the path specified in User Preferences > File is valid or blender has prmissn to open. i did save the image and then in user pref i added my png image in image editor. BUT same error keeps cmng. plzz tell. i really wanna try out and follow ur tutorial.
Have you selected an image node in the shader that Blender uses to draw the texture? You also need to save that image file before it can be opened by any other software I believe. Hope that helps.
Hey there good question. I believe this video has a ton of relevant content, especially for people new to various forms of motion tracking. However UA-cam doesn’t seem to promote the series in any form. This long-form release caters to those who look for a Vfx course all in one place and gives new viewers a chance to learn about a topic that is very fascinating to me. Thanks for watching the older content 🙏
Heya. I haven’t figured out yet how to best provide assets permanently. However, you can film any driveway or footpath nearby and use the Blender Kit add-on to get the rocks and the car for free. The rest is follow along as I go through each chapter.
Ah yes. Very good point! Since I created the walls for the house and protected the texture on them, I would now place edge loops according to the edges of the window texture. Then select the polygons that should be glass, duplicate the shader and assign it to the window polygons. Then lower the roughness to get reflections.
I currently don’t have found a proper way to proving data reliably long term. It’s definitely something I am thinking about once the channel has become bigger. However you can simply film a street nearby and follow along. A lower angle might even look more dramatic.
Heya. That idea is great and I’ll keep it in mind for future videos where I could incorporate footage supply in the lessons. For this video you could shoot your own footage and simply film an intersection or driveway nearby. Doesn’t have to be from up high. In fact something lower to the ground might make the cgi car more impressive.
I listened to the upload and think that something went wrong with the audio. Compared to the other videos that I uploaded recently this one sounds almost like there is some sort of heavy compression on my voice. Not sure why. I am currently recording on a Deity Lav mic which works pretty well. I’d consider a shotgun mic for recording inside to minimise the roomy echo the lav mic still picks up.
Na mate. C4D is a strong tool. I use Maya every days as well but choose Blender for projects whenever I can, often switching between the programs. Try it.

Absolutely correct and at the same time only important if you take the footage out of the scene, which would force you to decide whether you want to export the undistorted footage or distort the rendered elements in post. I do believe that if these techniques are practiced well enough, one can realise most of what they imagine. I stand by the video title. Thanks for your thoughts. 🙏
Is AI already solving these things all by itself? If so what scenarios did they show? There are shots that easily track and there are ones that I doubt any automatic can handle at this stage.
@@besmart2350 Do you really think any creator is ignoring AI?I would looooove for AI to track in under a minute so that I can skip past the technical stuff and get going with the creative part. Have fun you rascal.
Why is that? I switch between Autodesk Maya and Blender every day, depending on the project needs. By managing as many tasks as possible in Blender, I save at least a few thousand clicks compare to doing the same stuff in Maya.
Blender keeps deselecting tracking points and keeps making me have to click the little eye icon to re select it to track a couple frames before it deselects it and makes me have to keep doing that over and over either every frame or every other frame. How do I stop it from doing that? Like it just stops then shows just the plain box without the little line to the center of it and on the track view screen it shows the eye deselected and won't let me adjust the track point until I re click the eye every single frame.
Blender deselects markers that lost track to avoid confusion. However if all markers lose track, you’d want to check whether you use affine as tracking algorithm as it is more forgiving with footage that causes issues.
@@MannyVanDelight I was on Affine, it was just being misserable. Until I figured out how to expand the search area an insane amount and then tracking went so much faster and easier.
