Yeah exactly, its just like this in the manga (even more boring actually) because this political side of the story is very important, and also there will be action enough in the second half of the season
After araki stopped being the main director everything went downhill in terms of direction, music placement, setting the atmosphere and the placement or rearrangement of scenes. For me every episode in season 1 felt like a masterpiece (even the slow episodes) because of how great the episode was crafted from start to finish. I just hope that they are saving their talents and resources for the next arc and that they would adapt it faithfully.
3:40 Well that lack of action in S3 is really just because the anime is almost an exact copy of the Manga and those chapters covered in S3 simply have less action and are a bit more political instead. It's not like the animators are running out of time/money/ideas, but they have done a pretty good job of summarising the manga, without making it seem too stale
It was the best I've seen. Character development, tensions and emotional thrill when you know, toasty mosty (no spoilers just in case), and especially the fact that each episode just flew by and we're so cohesive. I remember finishing the season and it felt like satisfying but also leaving you wanting more, while at the same time feeling like a watched only an episode
In the defense of the uprising arc: It is supposed to be mostly only talking and giving out informations, they've did a great job at sumarizing all those chapters from the Manga, so it wouldn't be that much, but you still would get the point. I personally enjoyed this Season more then the first one (the second one is still better though). But if you are looking for mostly action packed Episodes in a Season, then I'm pretty sure you will love the next arc
Yea i was about to say that. How does it “seem like they ran out of money” when they are just following the Manga. He should be glad that they are following the Manga and not making a mess like Tokyo Ghoul.
TheMrAmberlamps no I did research, obviously wit studios were very poorly handling attack on titan. I mean they didn’t even let us know they’ll be having a Hiatus til the last episode. The animation direct changed drastically comepare to season 1. Araki, the director of season one stepped down and season 2 and 3 were kinda garbage. The music placement and the directing of scenes were shitty ( I mean like look at the episode when historia knocks the needle off of Rod, the music was very out of place, what the hell was that choice of song??? it’s fucking awkward because us audience know it’s suppose to be a serious tone but it made me giggle as if it was joke. Every episode in season 1 felt like a master piece. Hell even the OVAs of attack on titan were directed well. Because of araki. I still like the show, but I didn’t feel any hype at all, didn’t even get goosebumps between emotional scenes.
Yep, can't wait to see his face when "you know what" happens to "you know who"lol tried not to put any spoilers so hopefully you got what I was trying to say 😂😂
The uprising arc was my favorite from the mangoes. I was super excited for it to be in season 3. Kind of sad to see it getting pooped on by so many people
This is because most of what this season was was a foundation that could be built upon later and nothing but necessary. I remember manga readers hitching around the time when Erwin was at the cliffhanger of if he would be executed by fake king and some manga readers hated it. This is just repeating history nobody hates this story arc when its all said and done and we see the other parts of the story build upon it in amazing ways.
Not trying to be the manga purest or anything but they're following the manga pretty well and because of that, this is the part of the manga that got really slow. It's not really that they want to have less action it's just the manga started off with action and died down and gave a whole lot of plot/backstory.
Eh? Didn't they skim down the arc in S3 a lot more? Iirc the mangaka even said he wanted to skim it down or give them a chance to change things up because he himself knows it'd be a snooze fest for anime fans, me personally too as a manga reader
Wasn't Eren a "suicidal bastard" at the beggining that was never scared of anything, he would often let his rage consume him. Eren was like that because he thought he was special and he deserves to act like that. However, in season 3 Eren learns that he is indeed not special and the only reason he had those powers was because of his father who killed a whole family full of children. All the deaths that Eren took for granted then came to his mind, all the sacrifises he thought were worth it because he was "special" also didn't help. He was mentally destroyed, he started self pitying (something he never did before) and he just wanted to die. Eren needed this developmnt because at the beginning he was too proud. Only when he found out the truth about his powers, about his father and titans (that he hated so much) actually being his own people, he lost all that pride and that was very important for his future development. He realised that his friends and his people need him and that he shouldn't act as selfish as he did. His motivation went from "I'll kill all titans" to "I have to do anything to free my friends and people". Eren is a brilliant character and probably the best written character of Snk, it is really annoying when people like you reduce him to just saying "He's a pussy and a bad character".

"Exposition" implies that such points are unnecessary to the story holistically; this is not the case, every line of dialogue is necessary for the story as a whole and will provide mind-blowing revelations in the final season.
Eren went from: "I'm gonna explore the outside world and be free" to "Cant be racist if there's only one race" (while exploring the outside world and being "free")
@@JonathanLopez-xs6vr You're probably just using a question mark because I also commented a question mark, but incase you actually are confused by what I am talking about: ua-cam.com/video/dmO7onGrLWQ/v-deo.html This was the scene I was mentioning in my comment
One thing I love about attack on titan is just how unique every titan is, some are small enough to fit through a doorway and some are bigger than a house, some are terrifying and some are downright hilarious, some of them are even straight up anomalies, you get some titans that leap into the air like a frog, or have enough intelligence to grab the cords of the ODM gear when people fly past them. You can point out individual titans from different episodes and some people will recognize them because they're just so memorable
The thing about s3 part 1 is that it wasnt meant to have a bunch of action, It was meant to inform the audience about what is happening within the walls, The government, politics, and more, the season was meant to add lure to the world, s3 part 2 however was completely amazing in every single way
Bruh even only watching S3P1, did charlie expect someone to react to the shit he discovers in S3E6 like "Oh yeah, anyway time to move on"? Shit, main characters can be fragile too, that's what makes Eren's progression from angsty teen to cold, dead-inside warrior so interesting imo
Eren was made exactly how he was simply because the world is the perfect setting for breaking the type of people that think and act like Eren, I even remember someone calling Eren a Shonen character on a Seinen series, and that's exactly what it is. He is my favourite character in the show simply because unlike many other boring ass characters in other shows this guy actually faces despair on a near constant basis and still adapts and develops a more mature mindset.
Eren's character is great. Love his progression throughout the first and third seasons. I don't really agree with your description of his character. There's reasons for his actions and why he feels the way he does.
Hell yeah it is and deserves the title. I'm up to date with the manga so when rewatching AOT jut makes me appreciate it more with it's story, animation, sound track, etc (chef's kiss). It also doesn't sexualize things despite it being an adult genre and that's really rare to find.
yeah this was a really weird place to review aot. like why season 3 part 1? if that's all i watched of it then i would probably give it like and 8.5 but it was just weird as fuck to review it here.
@@deud1eskrub503 It's not like he didn't know there would be a part 2 either, because there was that creepy ending in episode 12. Also, funny how AOT is one of those (few) shows that with each season makes the past seasons retroactively better. Watching the other seasons knowing about all we find out in S3 immediately makes them more enjoyable, and that's a testament to Isayama's great planing and execution (for the most part, fuck that boulder).
In my opinion, they were right to separate the action pact parts from standing around and chitchatting parts. The anime is going at it's own pase, slowly pouring in informations that may foreshadow events like future flying people vs giants. Sometimes the show will explain what's happening as it happens but it's also good to establish some things before the battle.
Just be glad they cut down on the boring Uprising Arc, because if they had stuck 100% to the manga we'd still be in it. It's a necessary arc though for setting the story up, the show will pick up drastically from here.
my favorite scene in Attack On Titan has to be the chase scene between Levi and Kenny's group, it's so beautifully animated that I was absolutely captivated
@@chad-li2jd because half of it was eren talking to himself like "grr titan make me angry me want to kill them all" for four minutes straight 2 times every episode and they always felt the need to point out the most obvious shit that the people watching should've already peiced together like how they constantly tell you how the character is feeling when you can SEE how they're feeling and so many other things like that. It was just really disappointing and the other seasons still have that issue but much more faint. The only exception is season 4 and the studio did a phenomenal job with it because if you rewatch the other seasons to find my complaints and compare it to the latest season, there's almost none of it.
Season 1 couldn’t even stand to season 2 or 3 bro, season 1 was all over the place, sure it has the twist that Eren is a Titan and then it incorporates a lot of the other characters in a very fluid way, creating despair with each character that they kill, but season 2 has some of the best scenes, if not the best scenes in the show, with the colossal and armored titan reveal on the wall and the ensuing fight, as well as the Erwin losing his arm and still cutting Bertholdt scene and finally the coordinate scene to round off the season. It also brings in more characters and starts to build motives for antagonists, as well as set groundwork for plot points to get revealed in the future. Season 3 delves into this even further, with the reveal of the royal family, and greater understanding of the powers of the titans, and soon, the reveal of secrets hidden in the basement, this series is coming to a head, and this coming arc is probably the greatest in the show, as it has some of the best fights, and massive character moments that the show has already set up in its most recent episode. Either way, I’m excited for what the show has to offer and I think that season 2 and 3 are as great if not better than season 1, but mainly because they do different things really well
I think given enough time for the rest of season 3 to come out, people will truly understand how amazing season 2 and the start of 3 ties in, because this next arc is absolutely killer, it is simply one of the most amazing bits of media I've consumed.
You put it very well man. I think Attack on Titan has just kept getting better with each season. The revelations this season and how well everything connects is just astounding.
Caei Tridz agreed, really sad we have to wait until April for the rest of the season, but so excited for it cause it’s gonna make everything that’s unexplained look much more cohesive with the plot and set the stage for the next season really well. Again, some of the upcoming fights are my favorite and we are gonna have some very memorable moments in the show’s near future.

I pretty much commented on the same thing and then read this haha!
Yea i was about to say that. How does it “seem like they ran out of money” when they are just following the Manga. He should be glad that they are following the Manga and not making a mess like Tokyo Ghoul.
@@toosee3705 this is what happens when people do opinion pieces without researching the source material.

The next arc is going to make everyone nut
Mangoes
I like mangoes
In my country, mangoes are called manga/mangga. I liked your comment just for that.
When he was talking about szn 3 having too little action, I didn’t know he only watched part 1. I was so confused😂

When season 4 comes out he needs to do an updated review

Eren was made exactly how he was simply because the world is the perfect setting for breaking the type of people that think and act like Eren, I even remember someone calling Eren a Shonen character on a Seinen series, and that's exactly what it is.
He is my favourite character in the show simply because unlike many other boring ass characters in other shows this guy actually faces despair on a near constant basis and still adapts and develops a more mature mindset.
Who's here after the final season is out. Attack on Titan is a masterpiece.
Eren's character is great. Love his progression throughout the first and third seasons. I don't really agree with your description of his character. There's reasons for his actions and why he feels the way he does.
I'm loving these anime reviews, hope you do more and even review older anime
Actually you can't really rate AOT UNTIL THE END of the story. This shit a masterpiece , imo where the manga is at.
Hell yeah it is and deserves the title. I'm up to date with the manga so when rewatching AOT jut makes me appreciate it more with it's story, animation, sound track, etc (chef's kiss). It also doesn't sexualize things despite it being an adult genre and that's really rare to find.

Yes. Now lets get ready for Shingashina arc.

That true ending from S3 P2 was the most satisfying
