Did you ever think maybe an alternator would be more of an advantage seeing most batteries are now the 12V system
in most mowers and garden tractors. I have switched most of mine for the reason the 6V batteries cost and I can switch
a battery between tractors. It works for me as I have a few of them. Just adding my FYI.

I have converted quite a few tractors to 12v but as this tractor has a working generator and it is original (or same as) I decided to leave it this way. This tractor has gone to shows and I like that it is closer to stock.
