- Took my son for a quick camping trip up the tops, the weather looked ok but when we were up there of course a surprise storm hit, we still had a great night and that's what its all about

Chuckling throughout while watching the clouds gather in the background and hearing the wind pick up... But I absolutely lost it when the kid asks if a tree fell around 17 mins in! LOL

Yeah it’s a beautiful area and We had a great time and it’s funny that out of all the trips me and my son does this is the one he randomly brings up, “remember when we were camping in that big storm” lol
Not sure how I missed this video...dumb algorithms I suppose. Some of the best memories are camping in the rain. Your boy will never forget the time spent with you that day. Wait, I do know how I missed this one. I was solo camping in the US on 21 Dec in a small hot tent. Woke up to 15F (-9C) freezing my butt off...lol. Love the videos.

As big of a failure as it was I found it quite entertaining and it looks as though you and the boy did get some quality time, that's all that matters. Was pretty shocking how much rain was coming down, could see it pouring off that tree next to the tent. I thought you might have put the ground sheet over the canopy? Although I imagine it wouldn't have done much with that amount of rain. Great video my good sir, wishing you the best into the New Year and look forward to more content. Cheers
Yeah your right mate, me and my boy having quality time away from phones n TVs 👌👌 it was a great night really, pretty exciting to be in th storm. Someone else mentioned I could of used th ground sheet, it didn’t even crossed my mind at the time to be honest but thinking about it now water still would of got in anyway the ground sheet is mesh and it rained to hard and with mesh doors n windows of th tent it wouldn’t of been able to cover all 4 sides properly, wouldn’t of been a bad idea if it was lighter rain. Even though it didn't go to plan, looked like you two still had a bit of fun up there. Tried doing a trip up there last year and it didn't go to plan but we made do with what we could and still enjoyed the overnighter🤙
Yeah we had a great time even now we bring it up n talk about it lol if I had the tent cover I would of been fine but aw well. Yeah true, that’s disappointing your trip didn’t go as plan but still good doing overnighters, I mainly do overnighters cause it’s all I have time for most of the time, I was thinking about doing one tonight actually just undecided where

I own a exact same model tent. It comes with a cover on top. If you had that on it, there would be no water leak.

Still a great video even if the trip was cut short. How come the fly wasnt in the bag with the tent inner? Maybe you could have draped the ground sheet over the top when it started raining ☺.
Yeah even with rain we had fun, we will remember it forever lol yeah I never thought about the ground sheet. Once I opened th bag for th first time I could never fit th fly sheet back in, I always put it in a separate bag and I took everything with me but th kitchen sink and th bag with th fly sheet haha
So Steve Wallace, corprals corners both done body bag overnight stealth camping Steve Wallace and you have done cemetery stealth camping we talked about ideas all the time so you might want to think about jumping on this one before someone else does overnight stealth camping in a body bag either in or by a cemetery.
That’s interesting idea mate, probably going to do some regular camping while my sons on holidays and we out of lockdown (for now), try n do some stuff with him while I can and when he’s back in school do some stealth camps, ppl love stealth camp then regular camping that’s for sure
Another fantastic video! Jordo, i wanted to ask you something. Do you always sleep in a tent? Have you ever slept on the ground? On rolling bed or something? I wanted to know about how you deal with snakes. I heard Australia is the most venomous continent. Do snakes sneak into a sleeping bag? Have you ever heard that someone was bite by the snake during sleep?
Thanks for the comment mate I appreciate it. With th snakes, in winter I’ve done stealth camps where I was just on a mattress on th ground in the open and when I was kid I slept in swags that weren’t enclosed but In spring and summer I would never do that lol, I think it’s more paranoia then anything, you walk around and you see them around so it’s more peace of mind then anything to be in something inclosed, but where I’m at we have some serious snakes that are here like eastern brown, common death adder n red Belly black to name a couple but I’ve never known of anyone where a snake has gone into someone’s sleeping bag, my experience with snakes they try to avoid people, only “close calls” I’ve had was a eastern brown snake reared up at me n move towards me a meter only because I was trying to get a close look and the most serious one was when a common death adder struck my boot but that was only because I step on him in long grass, lucky he only hit my boots and avoid getting bitten but both times they were more defending themselves, most of the times they are sprinting away or curled up somewhere. You Always here about Dogs getting bitten but that’s because they go after them. But In saying that if you left like sleeping bags out in the open and unattended for long periods they could go in there I doubt it if a person is in there but I’m not taking the risk 😂😂😂

Did I miss something? It is winter solstice here in the 🇺🇸 US, and if your in 🇦🇺 Australia at what should be the beginning of your summer, why is it so cold?
Nar it’s been boiling hot here, some of the footage I had in this video was the same area but back in July, and it was pretty hot only cold packing up in the rain and night time, that spot I was in is 1500 meters above sea level so it’s a bit cooler up in the mountains but it was 37 degrees today at home, so 99 degrees Fahrenheit. You got snow where you at?
Do you have the same problem as me in that I can't fit the bloody fly back into the main bag with the tent ? I can't get the bloody thing in there so carry it separately. I'm paranoid I'll leave it at home then have the same happen as you guys did 😭
Yeah I have two bags for them now, impossible to fit both in the same bag, this why I forgot it this trip lol I grabbed the tent bag and completely forgot to take the bag with th fly in it lol
