- Jonah Lomu - Documentary
The video which features some extremely rare footage of Jonah.
The clip goes all the way back to when Jonah was 14, with insight from former coaches and teachers as it goes through his progression from talented forward, to all conquering All Black wing.
We get to see never before seen footage of Lomu in his early days on the Sevens circuit, Super 12 action with the Blues and Hurricanes, his meteoric rise at the 1995 World Cup, behind the scenes gym sessions, and a whole lot more. - Спорт
I met Jonah Lomu at my local gym here in Auckland, NZ.He was such a softly spoken shy man.He introduced himself to me and shook my hand like we were 2 blokes talking in a local rugby club.Legend !!
I was in Auckland once at an Asian restaurant. This was maybe just a couple of months after he got his new kidney. I was a skinny Asian kid at the time, but was decent height 6’3 so not much shorter than Lomu. Obviously at this time Lomu was no longer at peak physical form anymore, but still What impressed me was how damn wide his shoulders and hips weredespite not having as much muscle as back in his prime - he was one of those guys who didn’t have big muscles (relatively speaking) but just had enormous bones, which is probably why he could run so fast for 120 kg - it was naturally big size, and not gym big (muscles that you gain in the gym that slow you down).
@@sheldoncooper0 I notice in these videos people are always claiming to know the stars in the documentarys lol
@@turkmilleti2130 no I didn’t know him. Just bumped into him in public and met him. Very humble guy. I couldn’t believe how wide his frame was.
Not just a great rugby player but an excellent role model - a man deep in humility.
RIP Jonah Lomu. No-one transcended the sport of rugby union quite like Jonah Lomu. Bursting onto the scene of the 1995 World Cup, Lomu was a force of nature, the player of the tournament by some distance. His blend of pace, power and size never before seen.
Yeah, AnthoNY, yeah !
just incRedible !

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Jonah. You were a true legend to the sport of rugby. You put Rugby Union on the World map. As we say in NZ.... "era i roto te ranimarie"
Sad as aye cuz
His Athletic records still stand at Wesley College today! What an athlete and human being. RIP GOAT!
This man put rugby on the map. People just loved watching him play.
he sure did Ling...#legend.
Look who's name calling you?? GTFOH Khan! 👊
Harry Khan cuz pull your head in he absolutely put union on the map
Mann..can't believe it..gone but definitely NOT forgotten..greatest of all time..RIP J.LOMU..TOKOUSO..SOUTH SIDE AK.
Never been teary eyed over an athlete passing until today. He wasn't just a great rugby player his positive impact on people off the field across the globe was far superior to his astonishing on field performances. Here in New Zealand he's our Pelle, Muhammad Ali, Maradonna. RIP the one and only Jonah Lomu
Very sad that the guy died so young. He lit up any game he played in and he seemed like a very humble person.
The greatest of all time.
Rest in peace, big guy.
A fantastic competitor and unbelievable specimen of an athlete, but also always a class act. Rest in peace, Great Jonah Lomu!
RIP legend. Legends never die, they live in people's hearts
havent seen someone doing this as196cm tall, 120kg weight, fast , power, run, heat.
although I'm a yank, I'm an All Blacks fan. What a legendary athlete he was. He reminds me of an American NFL football great from the 1970's named Earl Campbell who played for the Houston Oilers. They both have that super strength to just run over the top of defenders like they were toddlers.
+wigalert exactly they never quit and always fought to keep going. However what made each man great was that neither show boated or thought of themselves higher then the rest
wigalert Why are you a NZ fan? Is it not unpatriotic of you to not support the Eagles?
+MKRM27
If you are attempting to equate the NFL Eagles with All Blacks that would be a curious venture. However, be more mindful in assuming All Yanks lack a taste of a sports culture beyond their borders.
wigalert The name of the U.S. Rugby Union team is The Eagles. In my opinion he should be supporting his own country.
Although I can understand if his favourite player is Jonah Lomu. He's one of my favourites even though I'm an Aussie.
amazing to see how much he cherished his Commonwealth gold. didn't know the big guy can cry. may he rest in peace.
The best all black player ever.
Matthew Roe no
Definitely the archetypal all black, my opinion the goat, RIP big man
was the best player for sure up to now, as good as he bloody well was he was still pretty much a 1 trick pony, give him the Ball in Hand from any position and he would just Blitz the opposition with his pace and sheer strength ,he was a Big Brute of a Man 1 on 1 or even 2 on 1 oppositions had no chance of stopping him has he proved on every occasion, for that he will always be remembered as 1 of Rugby's All time greats and will never be forgotten, that's for certain, However i must say at present the All Blacks have yet another Star in the Hands in Beuden Barrett This Wonder Kid has quickly established himself as the Worlds Best Rugby Player, He can play at 9 or 10 and to be honest i think he could cover just about any position on that pitch if needed, there is nothing this Lad can't do[ HE'S MAGIC TO WATCH] for me his Awareness and Vision is pure genius he seems to see Tries happening before they have even happened,he just reads the Game quicker and better than anybody else in the Modern Game, then add his Speed/ pace and all round skill into the Mix plus the fact that he still has a good few more years left in his already successful Career and he too will surely go down in the top few best All Black Players of all time, who knows maybe even the Best one of all.
in my lifetime (1975 onwards) definitly up there with Richie McCaw , Buck Shelford, John Kirwan , Kieran Read
there will never be another like him EVER RIP JONAH!
He was the G.O.A.T of rugby union, the game that’s played in heaven. NZ’s finest!
The greatest NFL player that never played
RIP Jonah Lomu My first rugby hero. So sad! #LEGEND
Simply the greatest rugby player in history
He's a genetic freak, in a good way. Just that he can be so tall and fast and heavy and agile at the same time is amazing.
What a great rugby player he was incredible and awesome to watch I met him at primary school
RIP Jonah Lomu #LEGEND
RIP #LEGEND
Never scored against the boks but South Africa always feared this man and have mad respect for always torching our team making us better
What an unstopable force, what a likable and relatable soul.
An absolute legend who truly embodied the ideals of the game.
I would think any rugby fan can only feel awe, admiration, respect or even love for Jonah when watching him play (or when learning about the man he was).
sooooo sad. I never thought I d cry for this legend and big man. He was an inspiration among all the blacks, wich is not few. RIP legend. Fucking week, definitely.
An Extraordinary Player, A very modest man, he will be Sorley missed, not just by his family and the Rugby community but by everyone, it will be a long time before we see his like again. God bless him and his family. Rest in peace Jonah Lomu.
Rest IN PEACEEE JONAH..U ARE A TRUE LEGEND EVER ALIVE..
GOD BLESS♡
The original X-factor your right eric rush will be longer than 100years to see some1 like him again
It's amazing what was considered "big" then, and now you have guys like Etzebeth 6'9 and 125 kg...
I was surprised when I met Lomu and I'm 6'7 and 115 kg and was significantly taller than him - really put it in perspective how small the game was in the pre-professional era and even in the 90s in the early days of professional era rugby. Now they have guys that are huge...
Never met Lomu. But woke up to watch him play every game with my dad in 1995 at the RWC whilst still in high school. When he ran through Keith woods of Ireland I and my dad knew he was something different that this world will ever experience. He probably sold his soul to the devil to be that good.
he is a beast
RIP JONAH LOMU.¡Qué personaje tan extraordinario! Una leyenda en NZ que cambió el rugby en el mundo entero. Descanse en paz
Brilliant rugby Player, loved watching him
No one can match the things he's done
Rugby Beast HD Of course they can / will. Just wait.
Rugby Beast HD agreed and never will tbh
I would say watch danie Gerber.. he was just as good if not almost better..
Literally the greatest centre ever in world rugby history
Very nice tribute!!!
The greatest runner of the ball but he also had some good hands ( off loading ) was top notch and he could big hit aswell so probably the best all round rugby player of all time!
One of the AB's greats.....R.I.P. uso
I had a moment like that too. Such a humble guy. I hope he makes it through his illness alright.
Jonah is in my heart til the day I DIE! Thereafter I'll look him up at the Rugby pitch in the sky! RIP JONAH I'm right behind you! 🏉💓🕊️👍
beautiful ,it's a star !!!!!!
Big, fast, strong and skillful... Doesn't get any better
The difference between all of them and Jonah is, Jonah is real..
hamsterwiel1 real deal
Man, imagine being a 14 year old pile of skin and bones and here's a 6'2 200 pound Lomu hurtling down at you.
Loved the probables vs possibles
Absolute freak my cousin was an exchange student from our little island Niue 🇳🇺 to Rotorua boys high in 1991 set the all time record beating all secondary schools but Wesley collage he would tell us the stories before Jonah burst on the scene and see him play was awesome rip in peace big man.

What an amazing player. So shocked when he left us early. The only player I was happy to see score against my team (England)
It is a tragedy that such a player was around when tv qaulity was crap. God how did we watch tv back then!!??
@ 9:31 the slow motion replay was not a try by lomu but was awarded
+wade dixon before the TMO eh? in this day they would of TMO'ed that and not awarded it i reckon

God bless the big fella. Rest in peace.
A very special player
l think Lomu was the first rugby superstar. He turned the attention of the fans into one person like it happens in football, on a sport that is esencially 100% team effort

JESUS CHRIST - The Son of God - God Himself came into this world, He died for our sins, He was buried, and God the Father raised Him from the dead, and through His Sacrifice we live in victory - JESUS CHRIST IS LORD !
C'était un excellent joueur c'était mon favori et aujourd'hui il manque a beaucoup de monde comme à moi
Good old boy
