Awesome to have a woman’s episode ❤
We're glad you enjoyed it!
"You deserve to be in this pack of women." I love that phrase. Thank you. I needed to hear that. I want that phrase to be true for me too someday.
I'm registered for The Mid Souths 12 mile "inspiration" ride, NW+40.
It will be my first gravel race.
I'm not ready. But I've committed myself to training this year so I can eventually claim this phrase myself. It's an important race for me. I started riding with the goal to race, to help keep me motivated to live life after loosing my parents to age, and then my 23 yo daughter to her struggling mental health.
This year, I'm ready to commit to the racing. Using the Mid South then the Oklahoma XC race series, Tour de Dirt, to officially start my ride/race goals.
And, Chase my own Daydream.
Thank you for sharing this adventure. Its a breath of inspiration I needed to hear and an experience I needed to see. I dont know if im going to enjoy Gravel racing. I ride XC trails. And dont do road. But, I wanted to do something new for my daughters 3rd missed birthday. I miss her so much. All i want to do is finish the 12 miles and get my feet wet to gravel racing. See if maybe I wiould like it too.
But this year is dedicated to making me a better rider and more prepared racer. So that I too can say,,"I deserve to be in this pack of women." Competing for a win. Not just a finish. This video is gold to someone just starting out on this long hard journey. Thanks again.
Really enjoying this years videos. Women's separate start is definitely the way to go.
Glad you like them!
Great interview with the winner of the race.....seriously
This documentary is about the Lifetime Grand Prix bro….
They don't have the opportunity to interview the winners due to their rigorous drug testing protocol.
You did an amazing job to avoid even mentioning the winner 👏
carolin is a heck of a rider. so strong #autsaid
It was an incredible feat to witness.
Brilliant video! The passion for cycling really shines through. It's an instant favorite for us and a must-add to our cycling video collection.
We're glad you loved it, don't forget to watch the rest of the episodes!
Damn that brought me back. Was one helluva day. Like Sarah said, you just keep going. What didn't really get mentioned was how hot it got in the latter middle portion (when Alexis was struggling). Everything was muddy already so that rain at the end and how it cooled things down was glorious. I was right there with Dani and Sarah during that last mud section. Pretty much just wanted to finish by then but they were still racing hard so I just tried to stay out of their way lol. All the feels for Paige, I know how much that race meant to her 😢 Better watch out for her there this year, she's going to come in ultra-motivated.
Heat, mud, rain, it was a wild day out there. Kansas threw it all at them.
Thanks for the women’s episode. This one had all the details nailed. Love this series. So many inspirational stories and turmoil. 🎦 🎉
Thanks! So glad you're enjoying the series!
Awesome Lifetime Gran Prix videos! I love the personal stories, the racing, the commentary!! Well done! Thanks!
Thanks for tuning in!
Excellent story-telling/editing! What a race and an incredible bunch of athletes!
I have finishe 2 times out of 3 starts at Arizona Challenge, a 24 hour 325 mile road challenge. I loved it enough to finished 2 out of 3 starts in about 4 years. Cycling is the greatest form of transportation looked at worldwide. 29:06
Well said - and BIG congrats on completing your goals!
I can’t imagine routing 1000 riders down that (avoidable) dirt road in the rain. Allot of ruined days, trashed bikes but hey I guess there was some good race footage!
Another FANTASTIC production! I had some serious PTSD from the footage of the mud sections lol
I got in to ride the 100 miler this June. Cannot wait!
See you there!
“These races are about sharing the experiences cuz all of us could go ride 200 miles by ourselves or we could do it together and suffer together and that’s so much more powerful” 12:10 Anna Yamauchi. I couldn’t agree more!
Words to live by right there!
THIS IS FVKING IT!!!
🫡
Can you put the names of the people up when they are talking so we know who they are on the course?
Thanks for the feedback!
Good program.... I'm not to familiar with GRAVEL EVENTS... Looks COOL . Nice interviews of participants !
Keep an eye out for the latest show, it's coming soon! Subscribe so you don't miss it 😉
Really good series
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for taking the time to write!
Great production from a fellow filmmaker.
Thanks! Cold Collaborative crushed it with the cinematography.
The more I watch these the less confidence I have in the proper pronunciation of Sofia’s name.
Lea nailed it tho.
+1 to the only staffer who acknowledged how shitty it was gonna be for the 1k amateurs whose bikes were about to break in the mud.
It was a wild challenge last year to say the least.
@@LifeTimeGrandPrix Challenges are surmountable. Broken derailleurs are not.
That actually wasn’t a Lifetime staffer - it was Betsy Welch who is a writer for Velonews. Good reality check though.
At 21:43 u can see Connor from GCN hahaha
We loved having Connor and GCN join us this year!
Did think watching the first (excellent) film - what about the women ? glad they have their own film, for what was/is every bit as exciting to the armchair viewer, the other side of the world. Great production of both - triathlon could take a leaf out of this sort of coverage. Keep it coming
Thanks for your note! We strive to bring the best experience no matter if it's in-person at one of our events or following along at home. Keep an eye out for this season's coverage!
So are they purposefully not interviewing Sofia? Did she opt out of screen time because of the drama surrounding her last season?
I feel like she mentioned on a podcast that she was going to negotiate for some/more compensation to participate in the docuseries this time. Maybe they didn't come to an agreement? I could be misremembering though
lovely folks, hope to meet them; where then is the racing????
The season kicks off next month at Sea Otter and continues all the way through October with Big Sugar. Find out more at www.lifetimegrandprix.com!
Word of caution, make sure it’s not a snapping turtle. They get pretty agro when you handle them and it’s not a pleasant feeling to get snipped. Great video
So true
Heard not good to pick up a land tortoise, they freak out and dump all their water to bolt (not ELEMNT), as seen
Paige !!! West Michigan love you
#Roots
How can you not cheer for Sturm!!!!!!!!
My favorite part was the turtle
🐢
That turtle/tortoise is dead, they killed it by picking it up and scaring the piss out of it.
Skipping 6th place was pretty cold, especially given that Becca was in the Grand Prix.
Our film crew was all over the place, but unfortunately did not get every single athlete crossing the line.
Kudos to all you young ladies you kick ass girls fucking do this own it we are Americans
Anna Yamauchi is a doll 😍
Badass athlete.
Oh bummer the mud! You guys knew about it but still keep it in! SMH!
Yeah, I was at that meet when he said if it's a little bit muddy, it stays in. Sure, it's supposed to be hard, but its also supposed to be a bike race. Hiking 4 miles of mud 11 miles in was ridiculous.
Awesome video, we need more awesome women on bikes!
But here is the part that gets me, why is everyone complaining about the conditions? Yes it’s tough and there is a high likelihood of mechanicals but that’s racing! If you aren’t willing risk body and bike don’t sign up
So glad you enjoyed the series!
Carolin Schiff
Incredible athlete!
I know good intentions were there for the turtle. But by picking it up, and it urinating out of fear, it lost an immense amount of hydration doing that. Don’t pick them up!
Should be put up a 'how-to' on helping our chelonian friends?!
Lifetime, you've done some incredible things for the sport but I gotta say... 200 miles is HARD. 200 miles of gravel is HARD. 200 miles of gravel in bad weather is HARD. But responding to criticism of the bad section last year by saying "it's supposed to be hard" is very lame.
Unbound is not fun to ride, not fun to watch and it has no prize money😂
About time this was posted
Worth the wait?
@@LifeTimeGrandPrix yeah but how do my friends and family watch the race live? Is that an option?
Weird that the winner of this race in not on the Lifetime roster this year... she smoked the field... whatcha gotta do to be included?!
Tell her to apply next year 😏
@@LifeTimeGrandPrix Oh right on... it's MY fault she didn't apply. Got it. I didn't realize I'm holding all the strings. You should treat your audience with more respect.
@@joshonwheels2 Weird comment. Plenty of mistakes made by the race organizers of Unbound last year. The winner not being an entrant in the LTGP (which requires a season-long commitment) was not one of those things.
@@JTMarlin8 I'm not weird, you're weird 😂My US-gravel-centric brain and @lifetimegrandprix 's could not conceive why she wasn't racing the series. I guess the real answer is that Carolin Schiff already has a job, based in Europe, racing with her road team 'Andy Schleck - CP NVST - Immo Losch.'
@@joshonwheels2 She didn't race the series because she didn't want to. Is that too hard to comprehend?
unbound looks like the most miserable stupid bike event you can do.
It was. But for some stupid reason that seems to be the ticket to unlock an inner compartment in your mind you may otherwise never venture into. Not in any hurry to go back but absolutely no regrets for having the experience (but a little sad it was at the cost of some paint on the chainstays of the brand new Checkpoint)
Too much melodrama.
Soap operas are for the birds, we'll take an all-day long UNBOUND any day!
Pick a better time of year for unbound its lame to put the riders thru that nonsense.
We want to see them race not walk.
Thanks for watching Frank! Weather in Emporia is always happening and sometimes early June can mean calm, nice temps w/o precipitation and other times it can mean heat and potential for rain. Here's hoping this year's addition will be a breeze!
How many people know what "Unbound" is? Seems like a marketing flop!
Used to be called Dirty Kanza until the woke people rolled in.
Unbound is just stupid
Hardly any men’s coverage 👎🏻
This is the dedicated women’s episode! Keep watching, episode 3 transitions to the men’s race.
