I noticed a few things while editing that I added as text on the screen but I forgot to include that text in the export of the video. So here are those comments: 2:35 Having watched the whole video, I don't think they green screened the background. It's just that the lighting that they have used has made them stand out from the background. 3:18 Also, I didn't notice it when I was watching but while editing I noticed that you can hear the elephant walking in the video. Very nice touch! 4:32 There is also probably one behind them from the top right, I just didn't mention it. 4:37 Again, I'm pretty sure that I was mistaken and that they really are at the Oviedo Marketplace 4:46 Definitely not a criticism. I'm using a green screen for this video XD and I use it frequently in my music videos. 6:14 The original is mostly a cappella. There are drums throughout, a guitar joins the voices on the "Wimoweh" sections, and there is a short section with a saxophone solo towards the end. 11:36 The line that Eli is singing as he crosses the screen is the saxophone line I mentioned earlier 13:40 I think I saw a recent Instagram post or something that implied Eli might have just had a kid, but I'm not sure about that. 14:18 I apologize profusely. What I just sang is nothing like Eli's part and barely qualifies as music. I truly regret my decision. 15:22 Cesar is singing very high here as well. Almost in a whistle tone register.
They are all in their usual mall outside the PattyCake studio. Only the animals are entered in. The BTS video made that clear as we watched their filming themselves in the mall. I concur on their take on Eleanor Rigby,, a little gem arranged by Eli. So far we only heard that and Creep by him., which have wetted the apetite for more of his arrangements.
Yeah, when I was editing the video I determined/realized that it was just the lighting that made them look like they were on a green screen. I did add writing on the screen about it but forgot to export the text when I exported the rest of the video. Thanks for watching!
This was intended to be a short, but Layne was having too much fun with the arrangement. J None was recently promoted, transferred to Washington DC and is now singing bass. Eli has subbed for Geoff, too. All of them are extremely versatile. J does not have children, but Eli and his wife welcomed their baby boy last November. The most unusual thing about this arrangement was Cesar singing that high soprano, reaching a D6! Would love to see your reaction to their version of Eleanor Rigby. Eli did the arrangement and sang both tenor lines. Earl had only recently left the group.
I can definitely tell they had fun with it 😂 I do know that J None can sing bass, but I don't think he can go as low as Geoff can. Same goes for Eli, although I had forgotten that he can sub if he needs to. I definitely noticed that Cesar went very high in this one, but I cannot name notes by ear I can certainly look into Eleanor Rigby for a future reaction. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@musicalmark Eli actually can almost go as low as Geoff does in chest voice, his range is crazy. but he naturally doesn't sound as good as Geoff does down there, it's a lot more straining for him as he's not an actual bass. but yeah, both Eli, J and Layne can sing bass to some degree when Geoff has a solo part on stage. they do often prefer to double track Geoff for their videos though, as he ofc sounds better doing it. but sometimes they don't. like in Hellfire for example, where the majority of the bassline behind Geoff's solo parts are done by Layne up until Layne's "burn it", with the exception of the lowest notes. or in Wicked where Eli is singing bass behind one of Geoff's solo parts.
@@musicalmark Another video (a mini) Something in the Way, shows Cesar really dip into his low baritone range. He sounds really deep and warm and he definitely should show it off more often. Theyve all got such insane ranges, the baritone/tenor etc names really mean nothing these days to them haha
No green screen, they just stand outside the Pattycake Productions studio, in the morning before many people are about, with an iphone on a tripod. Obviously the graphics are added later in edit. Don't know if you caught Cesar doing some whiistle notes during the violin solo.
Yeah, when I was editing the video I determined/realized that it was just the lighting that made them look like they were on a green screen. I also noticed the whistle tones while editing. I've always loved the Tokens version of this song & Voiceplay's is terrific! I had to watch it twice - I got so distracted by the animals the first time, I had to watch it again for the singers & the song. Thanks for playing this & your comments.
They film all their shorts in the Oviedo Mall. Pattycake Productions is located not far from where they are filming at. Their family members were standing around watching them film this. Pattycake is where Voiceplay and Geoff film most of their videos. This is Layne's arrangement. He used AI for the animals. "World's Smallest Violin" was the first video they filmed in the mall. Geoff lives 5 miles from there.
I love your background! And I love Voice Play! While you have that background up, how about reacting to Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Pentatonix! It's beautiful visually and vocally! 💖
It is a cool background. I like most of Pentatonix music and I can certainly look into reacting to it, but my understanding in their label is really bad about copyright striking reactions to their videos Thanks for watching!
Eli just recently became a dad for the first time! His new baby boy Asher was on location and being passed around and snuggled behind the scenes while they filmed this. I don't think J has kids yet.
