Let's not forgot how many cultural genocides Rome did. I am so often tired of how much we don't talk about how cruel Rome truly is, and the fact you are not pulling punches here is something that you have my highest respect for.

I agree. I always had my doubts about the razing since Roman Carthage and Tunis sat at nearly the same spot but describing it as combing through the city block by block and massacring anyone they found really paints the picture of how methodically genocidal the Romans could be. It makes you question the histories, you know? A lot of the info we have on civilizations back then comes from Roman historians… who is to say they didn’t just write whatever they wanted after they wholesale slaughtered anyone who could’ve said different? It’s just next level brutal.

The Carthaginians sacrificed children to subjugate their populations. DNA analysis of archeological discoveries has proven this. They couldn’t hold territory because they were demonically narcissistic to their subjects and vassals. The cruelty of Rome was a direct reaction to the apex cruelty of Carthage. This empire was cutthroat at every level from their merchant traders, to their mercenary forces constantly waging war and bringing chaos in otherwise peaceful lands, to the public sacrificing of children in their cities. There’s a reason their own forces rebelled against them and weakened them before Rome came in and put the boot to their asses. And there’s a reason Rome went full scale total destruction.

I like Rome, but like, we gotta admit. From beginning to end, Rome was pretty mean. Lol.

I would personally prefer you try and stick to gaming related videos like youve already done. Its not that this content isnt well done, its just been covered a million times over and in greater detail on other channels. I liked this channel because of the niche it filled. Just some constructive feedback.

Hmm, when I was in school we were taught that the reason (or at least partial) the Romans salted Carthage was due to the Carthaginians practice of child sacrifice. While it was more used as a later justification, I do not feel it completely invalid when it comes to talking about the Roman destruction of Carthage, any reason for leaving it out?
