    Both are still clearly protecting the panel after the chemical applications. They are still sheeting water quicker than bare paint, they aren't gone simply because they've stopped beading it's just their water repelling traits have changed.

    Hi Jimbo,
    strip the masking tape and inspect the colour difference after you're done with the test. You may kill a coatings hydrophobicity, like you just did, but once it's fully cured, you won't strip it with an APC.

    • @autodetailingpodcast
      @autodetailingpodcast  5 років тому +1

      I let it fully cure for 7 days and it stripped....

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official 5 років тому +7

      @@autodetailingpodcast kill hydrophobicity does not equal strip. Polish half of the coated panel with a medium cut polish and see the difference in colour/depth/gloss. This will tell you if you have stripped it or just killed the repellency.

    You were supposed to crosshatch the application of the sonex.. after your first water test you could see that the beads are not as high as they should have been

    I’m sure you’ve got this question before but realistically speaking when am I going to be getting any of those chemicals on the paint to cause the paint protection to be diminished or stripped off? I feel like spraying salt, calcium chloride, and such used on the roads for winter months is a real test. I’ve used Sonax Polymer Netshield before and have washed the same car 6 months later after it’s gone through a rough winter and it’s beading water as strong as the day I put it on. I guess my question is how do those chemicals simulate real world results other than the adams iron remover. And even in that case, if I’m doing that I expect that to remove or diminish the paint protection because the only times I’m usually using that product is to apply a sealant and/or ceramic coating.

    Please fix the water leak. It gets your shoes wet, etc.
    I nearly always put on my waterproof Vans when I wash vehicles.
    Waterproof shoes is a must-have for Detailers.

  • @sebastienderidder5418

    This is really strange. PNS is much stronger than this. You can beat it with APC mtiple times and still it goes ... How did you strip the firsr wetcoat coat? No contact on PNS side ?
    Have to admit. Its first time I see someone trowing iron rover on it...not something I would do in real life.
    Even stjarnegloss first isnt a match for PSN. You have to hit it multiple times.
    I let PND Cure for 1-2 minute before buffing. But I work it in a little longer. Multiple passes en first buff 1 minute after first contact to paint.

    Uh....no, not quite. You're assuming that household (family) children cannot be controlled and a studio must set up instead of arranging for them to be amused somewhere else other than 1 foot from the camera. Since $$ is to be made from the broadcast of the videos (the amount proportional to the readership), it is as sensible to have your own kids screaming in the background as to set up a lesson in the pathway of an um-pah band.
    I just feel that out of respect for the speaker (who is trying to convey important concepts) it is not ok for this to be going on in the background.
    Bob

  • @robertlamm69
    @robertlamm69 5 років тому +1

    I don't know about the other viewers, but I try to pay close attention to what is being said by the person demonstrating the product/technique/whatever.
    This guy's videos invariably sound as if they are being held next to a school for wayward children - the noise, the interruptions, etc. Would it not be realistic to expect that the kids be relocated so that a video (from which the commentator hopes to make $$) to avoid obvious interference. It gives a very unprofessional environment to the video. This would never been seen on Apex or Obsessed Garage, for example. On those videos, there is only one person speaking, and it ain't the kids.

      Im with you but most parents dont make their kids pipe down or be quiet. Most kids are out of control and loud all the time now but I still enjoyed his comparison as I just ordered Can Coat.
