Having watched a number of Ones Ready videos it seems that there are three qualities that you need to make it through A&S. 1. Tenacity (Don’t F’ing Quit) 2. Diligence (No F’ing Slack) 3. Resilience (Embrace the Suck) Easy to frame the physical side of things with these core principles. I guess Doc comes in to help broaden the application to cover self-assessment, teamwork and communication.
I'd be curious what personality types generally make it as operators, if there is something concrete about identifying them. At 17 going to basic, I thought I knew more about myself than I actually did, and I don't think that's uncommon for kids. 3 years at Minot made me reevaluate everything. I know your washout rate is high, and it's probably not just because candidates can't hack it physically?
