Boy, I agree about the CGI. 13 Assassins (2010) is my favorite movie but the CGI "cattle on fire" just "ejection-seats" me out of the story every time I see it. Seems like something a freshman in a film graphics school could fix in an afternoon, too. I can't stand it - it damages something so great.
Ah.. I remember buying Twilight Samurai VCD (yes, VCD) back in 2003 at a bookstore along with Samurai Resurrection (also VCD). This bookstore is very special to me because it's where I found Battle Royale, Blue Spring, Getting Any?, Ping-Pong, The Last Samurai, and many more when I was still in highschool (2000-2003), all in VCD format. Also, love Love & Honor.
@@bushidoblues9302 I would put The Twilight Samurai near or at the top of the list. Out of the 500 (+or- )Samurai movies I own, there are only 10 to 15, I wouldn't watch again. I'm terrible at ranking. I like them all in their own way.

I was in college when I saw Twilight Samurai, rented it at a store called Hastings, that rented movies, but also sold books, music and movies.

No 'After the rain/Ame agaru' ?
@chrisjones2312 Kurosawa wrote that not Fujisawa. If but it would be high on my list. Outstanding and beautiful film.

Yeah... because Toshiro Mifune taking on several skilled swordsmen is very believable. Or Ichi. :/
@@jessicaluchesi I honestly believe Mifune could.
13 assassins is a great samurai movie in general .

Agreed 👍 One of the best samurai movies ever made.
