"Even Akane needs therapy" What, the girl who agreed to help Aqua kill someone without missing a beat? Noooooo!
- Wait, senor Pinguino is in Oshi no Ko?
- Always has been...
The algorithm may not bless you, but it certainly blessed me by introducing me to you, Ed.
01:10:05 something interesting to point: Kana's room doesn't have a single decoration despite she earning tons of money at the time, where (or to whom) do you think the money is actually going then?
Since she was little Akane tried to master the way of the wizard...i mean, the way of the psyculturist XD
(slight spoilers)
her mother also wanted to make it big in the entertainment industry, but she failed at doing that, so she essentially forced kana to be the one to achieve her dream, so it can be assumed that she was doing it out of an "obligation" instead of actually doing it out of love like akane
Kana did tell Aqua that she had a lot of money saved up from her child acting days. IDK if someone else may have been skimming of the top of that, but I see it more her being so focused on acting & staying relevant she never had the chance at a real childhood to enjoy things.
@@micu8942 no spoilers please, we will get there eventually...
@@lukestarkiller441 that could also be it, but one could have at least something, like Akane had, a poster, a costume, something...
@@micu8942 Why are so many mothers in this series so shit?
Finnally! Ed's original story REVEALED!
The fact the stage thing is real, and Japan has awesome plays on stages like it all the time, just makes Japan all the better.
I think they're trying to roll that type of stage out to other countries now, though?
I actyually sympathize more with Kana in this episode. I get why she snapped at Akane, she doesn't want other kids to throw away their childhoods like she did as a child actor. I doubt she's actually happy about the rigged auditions, but she's also a kid who doesn't really have much say in what the aults decide for her.
Wow that was a perspective changing view huh
I think you're quite off the mark here, you gotta remember that at this time she was losing popularity, getting less and less job/opportunity, she was lashing out because she felt desperate, mostly because her mom was a bitch about it so it reflected on the child.
@@nekonochesire6023 Kana's full perspective in today's chapter
@@Heightren Not up-to-date with the manga, I don't like keeping up with ongoing arc and prefer to read in bulk.
@@nekonochesire6023 oh, I meant anime chapter. I guess I should've said episode
She is GOAT indeed~!
Akane showing why she's the best character in the series
47:44 I feel lucky that I live in the same state as you Ed 😅Though I’m still afraid of meeting people irl. Thanks for the video! ❤
Akane goddess. best girl ever. figth me!!
Love the reactions ❤
"Live theater is magic"
SO YOU **ARE** A WIZARD!!!😂
At the random chat person talking about how Akane's mom and random npc referred to each other as "[daughter's name] mama" - I can't say for certain how it is in Japan, but I know that in Korean culture, it is extremely normal for parents to basically relabel themselves as "X's parent", and it's not supposed to be toxic, though it can end up that way. Your child's achievements (and disgraces) reflect upon you and are shared as your own. In a way, it's a way of elevating your child to become the center of your life. Again, it's not necessarily healthy (topical for the next episode that came out today lol) but for the family-centric, generational viewpoint that the East Asian cultures tend to share, this sort of convention makes perfect sense.
41:50 Bro asks how we played with ourselves "in a non-dirty way" and then immediately adds when was the last time we played with toys
23:58 that was a brilliant monologue, great improvisation
Haven't read manga but i can already feel the peak coming for the next episode
50:23 kid Kana sounds exactly like Nokotan
During Akane's flashback I think most have forgotten that Kana had a whole period of falling out, getting less and less job, and making her mom toxic due to it. So it's not so that she was projecting, she was fully honest about it but for the wrong reason.
i can see sometimes an actor needing to back off and let another take the spot light but in this scene they are in the center and elevated if kana has also gone all out considering this is a fight scene wouldnt it have been better for them both to go hard? like watching two champion level fighters slug it out is more entertaining than watching mike tyson fight a toddler
"We have rabbits and we have crows, so what's Ruby?"
She's the Rabbit of Caerbannog, of course. That or a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. At this point, take your pick. She's getting tossed into therapy with the rest of the cast, anyway.😂
Watching this before episode 8 airs
Love the DT770s, I use them myself. The audio fluctuates a lot though and I wonder if it's a mic distance/direction of speaking thing. ...I wish I was a good enough audio guy to know what the solution is! lol
The usual solution is to set up a dynamic range compressor, which will bring up the quiet bits and tone down the loud bits to make everything fairly even volume.
I was trying to find information on the background/focus of this channel's psychology. Or am I confusing that with lenses of psychoanslysis, such as Lachanian, etc.?
44:06 remember that she told Aqua not to let his girlfriend die? So now Aqua won't let her befriend Kana
So in the end , Ed is best girl
I don't want to be rude to you, but are you still reviewing My Deer Friend Nokotan? I really liked the first three videos you did with it, but there's been 4 more since then and no videos.
Ed currently catched up with it but editors need to edit so many things they need to choose their priorities. At least thats what i am imagining the sitiuation is.

That scene at the end is anime original right? Iirc Aqua stepped in on his own.
What's the name of the piece during the break @ 1:01:41 it goes so hard
I just want to let everyone know... That during the year in which Ai died, she was 19-20
Bro, that Math-Man monologue was FIRE 🗣🔥
I need Ed to write some villains fr

12:20 holy shit?? 💀💀💀

I see the reactions to ghost Ai in the OP as very straightforward.
Ruby and Aqua of course go ape otaku dancing over her.
Miyako who doesnt really care about idols but understood how great Ai was is only half heartedly waving one hand
The director doesnt give a fuck about it. Even when Ai first worked for him he really couldnt give a shit. Yes she was pretty and charming with at least average acting and he could praise her for that but he didnt really care about her idol persona. The only reason he even gave Ai a role in his next project was because he wanted Aqua in.
Even if he knew of Ai's real side because of their next unfinished project, that's hardly relevant to me and imo to what the OP scene wants to convey.
And let me go one step further, President Ichigo is barely in the frame at the start but is completely absent when the Aqua, Ruby and Miyako wave the sticks. He doesnt care about Ai's ghost. If Ai isnt there alive on the stage there is no reason for him to be present. Ai's success was his life's work, his dream almost come true. And now she is gone.....just like he is since ep fucking one.
It is kinda crazy that the only times we saw him since he was drinking for Ai's bday after her death(two cups since it would be her first time legally) are two small scenes in OP1 and OP2. Both times we dont see his face.
1:16:53 🚁🚁
We hardly ever see Ruby this season, even though it's past middle, but there's nobody but Ruby in the ending. Seems like something unexpected is coming.
Ruby? This is Kana no Ko. Who cares about that minor character /s
I don't want to spoil anything but that ED flat out spoils a major twist with Ruby
Won't say anything else
@@Anime-sy2tw When a side character like Melt had more screentime and big budget for action scene than the main character. *sad noise* I heard many people hype about Ruby in the next arc or sth but will it compensate her serious lack of screentime this season?
idk she was kinda light in season 1 not as much as two but like the last 3 episodes of season 1 were B kamachi heavy
Pased at 1:25:41.
That is most everything.
i generally do not like MC's more than the side cast or antagonist. They are the hero; so there is no mystery to that. They will improve and therefore they must suck at some point so they have a reason to get better; which means they cannot disappear from the script, so no perma stakes exist with them... once you have seen a wide enough base of a genre and from a certain market you can virtually predict everything unless you purposefully hedge bets on outlying potential's.
ITS F'N BORING IN OTHER WORDS.
side casts and antagonists are therefore inherently more interesting because anything could and might happen involving them.
Let me ask you this...
If a princess is held in a tower by a mighty sorcerror and guarded by a dragon; who saves the princess?
is it the ugly peasent that cleans up after the mules and has a dumb name like Barthrod...?
OR
Is it the hansom prince on the white horse wielding the frying pan in its mouth while the prince is in shiny armor and blah blah blah...?
Clearly if its the prince and the basic of basic stories you know how things end. If its the Peasent then as a subversion tactic you also know how its going to end.
Afterall they are the hero so they get the girl.
But ask yourself this What happens to the prince if they are not the hero and besides that they are described the same... or the peasent under the same ruling? You see they could be comic relief or just part of a scene with no other value.
But where things always get interesting is when you consider what led those side characters or antagonists to the positions they are discovered in. That prince may have in fact been the kidnapper and is none other than the dragon in disguise taking a stroll only to find a scoundrel trying to take his "possession" the Princess (his emergency food supply). Its also possible that the Soreccerror hides as the ugly peasent because no one gives two pisses about him and so he is free to act as he pleases right under everybodies noses.
They have potential to be anything simply because they are not the MC.
Almost no exceptions exist for me. Deadpool is about the only exception I think of. Ryan Renolds as Deadpool is the only one that stands out in most scenes by design; but even then Domino and a couple others can outshine him without running a scene.
