My family would always make fun of me for not knowing twi but when they would speak twi i would understand them and I can speak perfect twi myself but oftentimes I would be made the butt of all jokes and any time I would speak twi they would make fun of me not to mention the fact that I am very antisocial and have severe anxiety so I'm just watching this to make sure all my pronunciations are correct and they are! Ghanaians are very humble people, we are so Humble some non Ghanaians mistaken that for timidity. No we are not timid, we were just raised to be respectful and very humble, with that said if you're a tourist please understand in ghana we respect each other so much and we precede each sentence with PLEASE, ME PA WO KY3W (please what is your name, please where are you from, please Where do you stay etc) and THANK YOU is also very important, Me Da Se. If you not Ghanaian and visiting first time i totally understand but i do want you to always remember that is just our culture.

Sadly as an American, I once held this humility with high regards.. until I ran into many Ghanaian men scamming American women for papers and I was very disillusioned with the group of people.
Becareful there are alot of pretenders out there and that's part of the culture too. I am personally offended that the Ghanaian men have also learned how to play on women's emotions for selfish reasons.... I'm just here for the Twi lessons

Now I watched his so called friends go thru American women like drinking water. I have had friends really hurt. The difference with Ghanaian men, in their humility they are subtle... but some are pretenders..... Karma catches those crooks that steal people's hearts and run.. Don't worry, just be careful oo... I befriended this gentleman that works for a hotel a few months ago from Ghana, and I will be returning next week. This is very helpful! I will use some greetings 😄 This is so much more easier to learn, for me, than the Russian I have been practicing which is impossible. Thanks for the great video!’

I've been asked to make a Happy Birthday video for someone Ghana(Sam Okyere). I came here so I could learn some helpful phrases. I really love your presentation. You pronounce at a reasonable speed and you repeat each phrase multiple times. Thank you for making this video!

I'm born and raised in Germany, with Bulgarian descent.
Although I have a huge interest and curiosity for Africa, especially central Africa and the countries close to, or directly located on the equator.
Fun fact: Even though Ghana and Germany are so far away from each other, geographically and culturally but they almost share the same timezone, with ghana being just 1 hour behind German time.

I've been to Senegal and like Wolof, Twe has a "familiar" rhythm to my ear. Even though I can't speak either. It's hard to explain, but I like to think it's my ancestors whispering in my ear.

My husband of nearly four years is Ghanaian, but his mother tongue is Ewe. I will never be able to learn Ewe in a thousand years. Thankfully, he also speaks Twi, among a few others. I had begun learning Twi thru the Pimsleur method, which was great, but they didn't recommend seeing it written so that we wouldn't keep our American accents while learning. They believe that babies learn by listening, but there are some sounds that are similar, and it's good to see someone's mouth AND the words so that you can say the correct sounds. I was saying Please as "May pao chow". Seeing it written helped me see where I went wrong. And what a great, calm teaching style you have! Liked and subscribed! ❤️
