As a Jamaican I can definitely feel my ancestral connections watching this - Jamaicans ALWAYS talk in sayings and this is definitely left over from our ancestors who were bought to the island - it is nice to feel that no matter how they tried to stop us the ancestors still managed to preserve and pass on some of our African culture and parts of the Akan language
Woooow this was soo interesting. I'm 21 years old and I was born in Germany. I am always excited about learning things about the ghanaian culture. Thank you.
"A child is knowledgeable, but it takes an elder to train the child's mind." LIKE WHOA!!! Every proverb here spoke to me and it has enriched my life!!! More studies I will have to undertake. This is a FANTASTIC VIDEO!!! Thank you for posting.
Togbe Osagyefo True Family. This is African. This is ours. This should be in the hearts & minds of all Black people on this earth--our own perspective. Those who were kidnapped, stolen, scattered, and indeed, even those colonized in the Motherland, had our minds shredded, shattered, and ripped of our own knowledge, experience and perspective. Only to be replaced with foreign ideals and religions that condemn our Ancient African brilliance. Thank you so much for exposing us to this (fortunately) preserved African Traditional wisdom. Keep it coming. 💖💖💖💖
This is well done. I like the fact that he took his time to explain each proverb. I knew some of them but the true meanings are much clear to me now. Thank you and keep up the good work. We should not forget our language and customs.

This is what is called, CULTURE AND TRADITION. In GHANA every tribe have its own PROVERBS that makes we GHANAIANS a very unique in our country. LONG LEAVE GHANA OUR MOTHER LAND AND ITS BEAUTIFUL CITIZENS. FROM BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS WITH LOVE. ☝️☝️☝️👍👍👍✌✌😁😁😁❤❤❤🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🙏🙏🙏
I am truly honored to hear the words of knowledge and wisdom from the mouth of the truth of the original from the mother land. What is documented is within for no one can tamper or intentionally try to dismiss. Self taught for the truth is a journey that I would never get so caught up that I don't enjoy. I'll forever more be the remnant of my father. For I am my Father's child. I'm forever honored. I give thanks and praise for the truth you're sharing.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing this wisdom! I am not from Ghana but I am so thankful I learned about these really helpful and inspirational proverbs!
My mother used proverbs to teach us by capturing a lesson by using a proverb.. “de higher de monkey climb de more him expose… you can’t catch kwako you ketch him shut”. Jamaica 🇯🇲
Thank you so much Elder Kwame and the team for putting this beautiful work together. I appreciate your wisdom and commitment to bring our African heritage to the fore for our education. I grew up in Nigeria and my mother used to play oral proverbs games with us children that I now greatly appreciate.
This is just few out off thousands, each people and their tribes has their own proverbs in their own languages. And it is why in particular Africans tends to show much respect for their elders.
Furthermore, according to tested and theorized science ,Africa is the cradle of humankind. These proverbs should not just be important to Africa, but to ALL mankind, due to the fact that these African proverbs are most likely related to or are themselves some of the VERY insight
Its funny because I know and have plenty of Akan Friends who are obsessed with East Asian Culture and I told them that Asians worship their own God and have their own characters, proverbs, culture. When I told them we Akans have the same things (Nyame,Adinkra,Akan Proverbs),it left their faces shook.
Kwaku Ampofo most Ghanaians don’t know their own history/traditions/customs and those who know undervalue it. But we are here to change the norm for we will only develop via our own systems.
This is priceless! I have known of the adinkra symbols (also Akan wisdoms) for a couple decades and am now writing a children's novel about the symbols and African proverbs. I am African American and I recently had my dna testing done for a 2nd time. I'm 51 percent West African ancestry, mostly Ghanaian! We must keep our knowledge and traditions alive and I believe we can build on them further too as our Af. American wise men and women gave and continue to give much to the world as well. This reminds of my Ghanaian Language class in primary school. The teacher would award points to the pupil who could correctly explain the proverb he read out in Twi. I don’t remember whether it was part of the curriculum but we really enjoyed those periods. My mum is Ga and my dad Akan so we spoke Ga at home, those classes were what helped me learn to speak Akan (Twi ) well. 😊😊
I loved these beautiful proverbs I think this is the way out ancestors speak to us all whatever culture we are, also a privilege to learn about a different cultures proverbs
