    Video footage from a couple days of striped bass fishing action. I was fishing a secondary channel with cut skipjack for bait. On the first day, I drifted the area. The next day I anchored until I was run off by bad weather. It was a fun time. Catching stripers in the kayak is always a blast.

    3 years ago I decided to get into cat fishing. I checked u-tube and found you. I made chicken liver chum bait and Carolina rig and I've been catching cats every since. I even bought your hat and t- shirt. Thank you Chris.

    Thx for making my Monday morning in the desert. I got about 2 1/2 weeks and I am the heck out of this place. I would love to just sit in some rain. It would be better than a dust storm. It was 118 yesterday. Take care man. Love your videos.

    Great video. Think I might try that tactic on West Point Lake close to home. And yeah, those boaters see all that open water and think it is free for all. Just because the shorelines are hundreds of yards apart does not mean it is all deep water. I have seen several power boats come to painfully abrupt stops when they hit a roadbed or a submerged island. Got to know you waters.

    Striper are good eating. I caught a 38”er two months ago on a live minnow from the bank in 4-6’ of water in The Feather River. Still have half of it in the freezer. I fish the same spot most every day. I only use circle hooks.

      Those stripe are my favorite freshwater fish to eat. Now if I could only catch some. Chipping away at getting a boat and have most if not all the needed gear. Thanks for this video. Seen all of your 2019 stuff but just now exploring your older vids. Good luck to you!

    I trolled for a couple hours today up shallow with bluegill for largemouth. Caught two fish. I think I’m targeting the wrong species. Those fish were huge

    Quick question. In the vid spring crappies using gulp minnows, you are wearing what look like neoprene boots. What kind are they and where did you get them.

      They are the NRS Boundary Water boots. I ordered them online a couple years ago during a Black Friday sale. I honestly can’t remember the name of the site. Any retailer that sells NRS products will have them though.

    Great Video! Glad I stumbled across it!! How heavy of a sinker are you using? You let the barrel sinker go all the way down to the hook? Looked like a couple times when you were bringing fish in, the sinker was on top of your hook.

      Thanks! I generally use 8 ounce sinkers when suspend fishing. I have some videos on my channel discussing the knocker rig which I was using in this video.

    Question, new law on hooks, the way i read it is when your fishing for rock fish you must use circle hooks but some say it is for all species, how do you read it ?

      I catch most of them by accident while catfishing. My catfish setups are ugly stik catfish rods with 80lb braid main line on some reels and 50lb mono on others. I use 80lb mono leaders. When I am trolling specifically for stripers, I use 50lb braid main line and 30lb mono leaders.

    You just dropping that on that on the bottom? What depth are you fishing at?

      The first day I was drifting with baits suspended 2-3 feet off the bottom. The second day I was anchor fishing with baits on bottom. I was fishing 35-38 feet deep.

      I do catch them on points. I also catch a lot of them drifting and trolling main channel ledges.

      @@KayakCatfish i used that for years, then one year, 2013 i believe, every knot i tied broke like wet paper.. there's a Paylake I was fishing in Louisville at the time.. guy working there said there was a massive shipment of Trilene Big Game that year that was doing that on every spool.. so I went to Stren Orange.. great stuff!

      I’m thankful we can’t eat them here. If we could, we wouldn’t have nearly as many trophy size fish available to catch.
