- Time to start the main vegetable sowing now that April is almost here.
I'm starting the Tomatoes off, the first lettuce and cabbage and also the peas which are planted into lengths of gutterung.

Hi, I'm Dan and I grow a huge variety of vegetables for eating and also some Giant and Exhibition Show varieties for Local and even National Competitions.
Throughout the year I will try to show how I go about growing my produce and hopefully give a few tips and tricks along the way.
Whether it be how I grow potatoes in containers, growing basic veg for the home to growing a 10 pound onion or even a 100 pound marrow I will chart all my progress.
Please have a look at my videos and subscribe to my Channel.
Thanks.

No fuss, no nonsense advice, thank you from a fellow northerner.
I highly recommend Crimson Crush blight resistant tomatoes. They grow better outside than in my polytunnel here in Manchester. Great abundant crops of beautiful tasting Toms
Great tips fella 👍👍👍
Hi Dan, I have the same trouble with my seed packets from Premier Seeds, I prep them at the same time as writing out the labels and cut them open with scissors then reseal them with paper clips. Look forward to your next gardening video 😁🌱☀️
Great video as always Dan 👍
Thanks 👍
Hi Dan, great video, I have been growing gutter peas like this for years from your old video. Mine have been growing a month in the greenhouse and will be going out next week, I find the earlier you get Greenshafts out, the better the crop.
I put duct tape on the end of the peas pipe. Thanks for the tip
I love those ots from Temu. Do you have a link please as couldn't find any cheaper than 21p each. Thank you. Great video. Love watching seed sowing. Thank you. Happy gardening 🙂
I've had a look again myself and I can only find them for 8 quid too now.
Mush have been one of their lightning deals when I got mine.
But even 20p each is still pretty reasonable if you can share them with your friends.
Cheers Dan 😊
Love you bottle rose waterer. Where did you get that from please?
It's another Temu special.
Think I got 2 for about 80p.
You can make your own though as I have in the past by just drilling some holes in a 2 litre bottle lid with a very small drill and it works the same.
Cheers Dan 😊
@@Allotment-diaryUk Ooooh good idea, thanks.
@@katybroadbent6713heat an needle over the gas cooker and put holes in that way...be careful
i tried gutter peas and i had to leave them on the floor of the greenhouse where pests were more likely to get them and they didnt slide out nicely .wasnt worth it for me
also they were too moist in the centre and dry at the ends .gutter peas can be tricky
Water well before shunting out! Then you have a waterslide!
@@phaethon3124Duct tape round the end; remove before sliding off.
Stand on 2 upturned buckets on greenhouse to foil the mice 😂
I agree they can dry out a bit at the end but I just water those bits a bit more.
I like to slide them out in about foot long sections too.
This is a bit easier than trying to slide the whole length out in 1 go I find.
Cheers Dan 😊
