This is literally the only comprehensive video on UA-cam explaining how to do this type of cover.. and its near perfect. Explains everything. Awesome job, thank you
I really enjoy your presentations. You give good advice and explained the ‘Why’ of your actions. Even if I know I won’t make what you demonstrate, I always enjoy the demonstration and I always learn something.
Watching this , I don't know why I never got into sewing. I like working with my hands and I like to make things. Getting close to retirement so I plan on giving it a try. I only have 6 sewing machines. My Grandma's, Mother's and I bought one and my boyfriend gave me one.
Thank you for this video. I purchased a similar U-shaped ottoman at a thrift shop but shortly after I brought it home, the faux leather started falling apart. So I made a cover for it with upholstery fabric, batting and a lining to go over it. It's removable to launder occasionally. However, I would like to someday replace the tatty faux leather underneath the cover someday. I love the sturdiness of the footstool so I'd like to keep it for a long time.
Hi Karen, We used the Sailrite long nose staple gun. www.sailrite.com/Sailrite-Long-Nose-Upholstery-Staple-Gun We have an industrial air compressor that is located outside of the studio with a line running in, so you will never hear it running.
I have a very serious question. You all have a video similar to this that deals with sewing the flange to a barstool to avoid wrinkles. ua-cam.com/video/TIpmQkUvqXg/v-deo.html I want to know can I apply this same method used in the barstool to this footstool to ensure I get a wrinkle free design?

Love your videos…..I make bags so understanding the ultra leather was great.
Glad you like them!
@@SailriteDIY could you forward something to your design team? I have an idea for a Twin needle lockstitch version of the LS1 and LSZ1.
Great video and instruction!

I love Sailrite
thank you
You're welcome
Is there a downside to just covering the existing material with the Ultraleather?
What nail gun did you use ? What compressor? The compressor was so quiet.
