I was on vacation in Osaka, Japan and decided to check out what the local RC scene was like. This store looked pretty promising and was pretty close to my hotel, so I dropped by to take a look!
Sorry for the shaky video and mic, I didn't plan on recording anything so just had to use what I had with me.

I'll be honest me and my son's built a Tamiya grand hauler with the sound kit and a flat bed trailer. It's hands down my absolute favorite build we have ever done.
" I guess Tamiya are popular in Japan " lol understatement of the year! They are the biggest and most popular brand world wide since the 70's and come from Japan
It's a good thing I don't live there.. I would be eating mayonnaise sandwiches all year to support my addiction.
They are made in Philippines for several years or a decade now and surprisingly their quality has not changed. Awesome!
Tamiya is a National treasure in Japan.
You mean kyosho bro!
I know right!!! smh at this noob who stumbled into paradise that in the United states we can only dream of and he is clueless....
That was like going back in time to US hobby store in the 80's
Yeah, when the country wasn't all welfare cases with their hands out. Now it's all Walmart crap.
@@sonicimperium Before the red dragon mounted your asses.
Im glad you thought that too!! This is exactly how hobby stores used to be back in the day, before internet!!
Yes I thought the same. American Hobby Center in Manhattan had a similar design.
Had stores like that in San Bernardino CA.....kids dream store in the 70's and 80's
Would love to go to JAPAN. That store had almost every TAMIYA kit, you could ever want.. I don't think i couldn't take the anxiety!!
Impressive how clean, organized and well stocked it is.
Very cool video! It's neat to see an RC store in Japan. Have fun on vacation. Thanks for sharing.
Hi everyone, I live in Tokyo. Just FYI this same shop is also in the Tokyo Akihabara district - in case you are heading to Japan but not getting to Osaka. I think the locations are listed on the website. Thanks for the great vid hope you are enjoying Japan!!
You still do RC? Me and a friend of mine run various buggies out in Yatabe and Kazo. Just curious if you are still in Tokyo.
@@spinrushrc hey bro, can help me the name forum in fb sell and buy rc used in japan, i need find futaba 4pxr. Thanks bro.
I’ll swing by
Wow blast from the past black foot, grasshopper and lunchbox rc takes me back to my child hood.
Glad I'm not the only one always wanted a Grasshopper as a kid.
That was extremely cool. I wish more people would show hobby stores here and abroad.
Grasshopper was my first rc car. This was over 20yrs ago bring back memories
Nice vid awesome store love the huge selection of Tamiya kits. The Avante Black Edition is an awesome kit i saw 3 on the shelf in your video I'm planning to get one hopefully later this year
That place is awesome thanks for the tour!
It's like all those Tamiya catalogues I lusted after as a kid have finally come to life. Cannot wait to go to Japan this year.
Sweet video! Always wondered what Japanese hobby shops were like, especially since my first hobby grade RC was a Kyosho Ultima!
Badass video! Thanks a bunch for showing us this shop!
Cool track. Great selection and utilization of space. Thanks for the video.
Wow super cool! Really enjoyed this tour of a Japan Hobby shop. Thanks for sharing.
What an amazing shop ! thanks for the insight into this shop and keep your eyes open for other similar shops especially those selling aircraft related items.
That was cool. Thx for the tour.
This was awesome razor!!! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for posting this was awesome to see!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Tamiya...great childhood memories. Flying into Japan in July and I’m more excited to see this than Mt. Fuji😂
ChedengMB I just went a week ago, this place is dope
@@yellowjacket1476 My son and I walked to this store and it was great. I also the Tamiya shop in Tokyo and it was the best.
Cool video! My first proper RC was The Grasshopper followed by the hilarious Wild Willy. Happy days indeed!!😃👍
Cool video. Lots of inventory! That’s crazy
Awesome video brotha very cool to see an RC store in Japan & all they carry tons of fun to be had there lol thanks for sharing happy bashing bud👍😎🙈🙉🙊👊✌
Wow... amazing to see! Wish I had one of those nearby!
I'm not sure I would. I could see myself going into some serious debt! Ha. Amazing shop.
@@gmballistic506 Lol... good point!
this hobby store looked like it had only cars and car parts, but the long aluminum tubes could have been helicopter tail booms.
yes that was mostly align helicopter parts...... completely amazing!!!!!
Great video, I started drooling looking at all the stuff, never seen anything like that here
Thanks bro for bringing this to us!!
😲 Man that shop was awesome!!
Super interesting. Thanks for posting!
Wow that’s amazing!
What a wonderful store, i could spend the day just browsing and spending. Here in Michigan we have lost almost all our hobby shops to the internet and i truly miss the interaction and conversation between fellow hobbyists and myself
That place is awesome!
Pretty sure the long bars are tail boom for helis. Noticed alot of Heli parts around them.
They are indeed. You can see "Align" on the smaller bars - big name in helis.
In 1984 when I was a child my first ever RC was the Tamiya Grasshopper. I had a lot of friends who were into RC and the most available brand were Tamiya especially during the mid 1980s. In the US during the 80s If you saw any hobby grade rc it was most likely a Tamiya. Many rc enthusiasts started off with Tamiyas.
You guessed it, internet wasn’t invented yet so young boys assembled Tamiya 1/10 buggies with knobby tires.
Wow, huge inventory! Awesome!
Thanks brother, just love seeing lhs around the world. Safe journies to you
Great tour, pretty neat stuff.
DUDE! JAPAN?!?! THAT is cool!!! Awesome, very different content than I've seen from anyone else, keep it up brother!
Dr_Dingleberry_Brown thanks, I try to think of new types of videos that other people haven’t done before.
Wow very cool n hope u had a great trip n safe travels back home
I would be screwed with those stairs being in a wheelchair lol
Awesome thanks for sharing man👍👍
WOW!!! OMG!!! I'm in love!!! This place makes my local hobby store look like a hot dog stand!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was thinking more like a Mexican selling barretos out of a ice cream kart
Now that’s an RC store! I guess we never think about it, but it’s really cool to see a store in another country. Thanks for posting. Really enjoyed it.
Wow bRo, that store is massive!!! I've never seen that many O.S goods hanging on the same wall and the race track was so cool the icing on the cake!!
Awesome video dude! I really enjoyed it!
Very cool video mate!!
Dang I'm jealous, i bet that was stellar!!
thats a huge store :) better go in there with a million dollar
Maybe a billion dollars! Lol. 😆 🤣 😂 I'd want one of each rc's. Hehe
That was very nice! Thanks for sharing.
Love Tamiya box art too hasn’t changed in years.
80s Tamiya started the RC craz for me .
Very cool to see I’d luv to visit and I believe those long rods you seen may just be drone extension arms or motor support replacement. I’ve seen some similar to those as they do do get damaged. Easily. Not cheap. Great video sir
Japan stores are just epic! i went in january, and the video game and toy stores are awesome.. diecast model selection, and even audio headphones selection blows everything we got in the US. Also since theft isnt much of an issue, all those items are within reach that you can actually look at (vs behind a counter) .
One of the nicest hobby shops I've seen so comprehensive . thanks for sharing this perspective . 😏✌
wow, some cool stuff. Cool to see a rc store in Japan.
Sorry for the blurriness. Watching at 0.75 speed helps a little bit.
They have everything. What a great hobby store.
So amazing. My local shops have 20 kits only and they’re on shelves that are 20 ft in the air so you can’t look at them anyway!
Bro thank u for sharing this. I keep dreaming of a hobby shop I visit. And this is as close to those dreams where it's filled with all the RC stuff ever made . It makes me so happy being there and actually about to buy something in that dream. Then I wake up😭. But now I know where to go someday.
My wife is Japanese, I have been there many times and I agree that a good part of the charm of Japan is in that you can't understand a word yet its not intimidating. Japanese TV is hilarious even if you don't speak Japanese. I suppose it was easier for me being that I am married to a translator.
great video, cool to see. The bars were Align 3D helicopter parts, tail booms etc.
Very cool. 😎
Have a good holiday. 👍
thank you sir!
Cool Video and awesome inventories of cars! I would love to visit.
In japan Kyosho and Tamiya are not “old” brands, they are huge there. They have tracks that you can race at for free, but it has to be one on their cars.
You are the king of motion blurrr!
Dam why don’t we have hobby shops like this 😳😳😳
The reason why they don't have any hobby shops like that in the states is very simple it could be summed up in one word.....Amazon!😩
Gemster18 well said , we use to have good hobby shops now they suck cause of amazon and fake book
This has to be one of the coolest videos on UA-cam....completely brought me back to feeling like a kid again!!! The visuals are insane! My first car was a Tamiya Frog 🐸. Nothing like putting together your own rc car! Man this video really hit home and I want to say thank you. I could spend days in there. I appreciate this video so much. Very cool to be able to see it in person I'm sure.
wow, thanks! to be honest I wasn't sure if I had time to visit the store, but I'm glad I did and this post makes it all worth it!
OMG... RC heaven :) and saw some rare Tamiya kits there. Their collection is fast. Way more than we have here in the Netherlands. Thx for sharing!
Would like to check it out as well, interesting
Wow that shop is amazing 👏
Wow WOW WHAT A OUTSTANDING STORE 😱 it's better than Gold 🏅 lol 😉 thanks for sharing 👍😁👍
What an amazing hobby shop!
I wish I could go there. it looks like it would have a lot of parts for the Kyosho cars, which would be very useful. Cool Video.
amazing shop !!!!!
Drooling over those Tamiyas!
Very impressive, just have freakn everything.
Wow, that was cool. Can’t imagine a US shop carrying that much in stock. Just in radios there was like $20-25k
Dream shop!
Very cool video.
The Tamiya
lunchbox.
The Blackfoot.
The super beetle.
The hornet.
The midnight pumpkin
The Subaru brat.
The Subaru Blackfoot super beetle we're all cousins interchangeable parts.
Those are classics that will never die.
ohhhhhhh thats awesome man loved the video , im going to japan lol :-)))
That place is stacked with awesome stuff. 👍
Damn I wish hobby shops around here where set up like that !!! I don't know how many times I've driven to a shop just to find out they only have half the stuff I need for my projects.
And yet they complain when people stop shopping at their store and buy online instead...
Wow incredible!
Great video. That place in insane!!!
Beautiful 😍👍
Yup. That takes me back to when my Tamiya (The Hornet) needed a few parts to be replaced after I ran it straight into a parked car’s tire... it was cool buying all the replacement parts and bringing it back to new-specs.... as a kid that was awesome, now as an adult I should have just brought a new kit. All the separate parts added up to the same price as a brand new Hornet!
Awesome Video!
I wish I had a hobby shop like that in my area.
Oh, the Tamiya days! My first ever RC kit (back in the very early '80s) was an electric 1/10 Tamiya Ford F-150 2WD with a hard-body shell. Also had a 2WD Grasshopper, 1/12 4WD Porsche 959 (still have it, and restored it with a brand new sump guard and new body, were hard to find, paid USD100 for tyhe clear lexan body alone) , 2WD Avante (still have it, with a new body). Tamiya RCs were more for casual bashing around. Then moved to the Associated B-3 and TC-3, which were really competitive.
Wow awesome store I was drooling over all them mini z body’s :o
Wow... the R/C Walmart.... I would definitely get lost in there wow!!!!! Love it!!!
Hobby DISTRIBUTORS in the USA don't have that much stock. Awestruck..
Lol nope no where near it.
I first had Tamiya products wayyyy back in 1975, ( and Futaba too)! It was about the ONLY RC products available in the Iowa Mid-West at that time! Good Stuff!
Now that IS a hobby shop!!!! Would love to go to japan and do some rc shopping!!! This is what we need here in the U.S..
Wow! A hobby store in Japan! I love my exclamation mark!
Really cool video! I'd be absolutely broke leaving there! Thanks for giving those of us who can't travel there a look at Japan's version of a "candy" store! Lol
Jay Tucker glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
MY GOD! from the outside, it looks like a big nothing. Inside however, its a parts palace! NEVER EVER judge a book by its cover, peeps!
AMAZING! Thank!
Great video!
