- Here's a record that I just know you will love. It's 1989's unexpected one-off musical partnership from Texan Darden Smith and Brit Boo Hewerdine. "Evidence" is a great acoustic-based record full of great songs sung in a blend of pop and folk. Have a taste and check out what I have to say about it.

Loved this album!
GREAT obscure album, only recently discovered on my part.
I love your ranking videos and these forgotten records videos. Big fan, keep up the good work!!
I was given this album when I was a record store manager. I thought it was fantastic!
This is what I wrote when I posted that video on Facebook: Thirty years ago or thereabouts, I was doing one of my favorite activities, which was thumbing through stacks of used CDs at a music shop, when I stumbled upon the album, Evidence, by Boo Hewerdine and Darden Smith. Although I’d never heard of the artists, or the album, I took a chance on it. And then I enthusiastically proceeded to turn every friend of mine on to it that I could find, which was also one of my favorite activities. Of course Joel Haspel loved it too, why wouldn’t he. Turns out that album was a one-off for the duo, who each had his own career and musical journey, playing to cult followings, Boo in the UK, and Darden in Texas. And just as I accidentally stumbled on the album, last night, while I was browsing potential summer music events, I stumbled on the fact that Boo and Darden were playing together on a brief tour commemorating the 30th anniversary of Evidence. And there was an afternoon performance in London June 1st! I messaged Joel this fact about 2:30 a.m. his time, but IN time for him to catch the show TODAY, when he shot this video. I will leave it to Joel to write a review, but suffice to say he loved it; why wouldn’t he. Another life-affirming experience watching talented musicians do what they love for the folks who love watching them do it. Enjoy.
LOVE your ranking and "shopping" videos!!! I just got the Katie Pruitt LP based on your recommendation. GREAT record. Here are some great forgotten records IMO: Graham Parker's Howlin Wind, Bob Seger's The Fire Inside, Southside Johnny's Hearts of Stone, Whiskeytown's Strangers Almanac and anything by Billy Joe Shaver and Bobby Bare - two amazing songwriters most people have never heard of. Keep up the great work MCM!!!
Thanks - I have added one of this to my near-term list.
