  • Dalton Industries Can Am Maverick Sport Clutch Kit for 29 to 32 Inch Tires Quick Test Review. The kit Dalton Industries recommended for us is set up specifically for 29”-32” tires on the Maverick Sport 1000R DPS, XXC, and XRC models. This kit is also used for the XMR mud model with 32-34” tires.
    Although we later flashed the ECU, initial testing was done with the Dalton clutch upgrade and larger tires only. The 100HP Rotax engine remained pleasantly responsive off the line and out of corners. Backshifting under load was well dialed, never leaving us feeling starved for power on increasingly steep inclines or in deep power robbing sand; perhaps, mud in your neck of the woods. Overall, Dalton kept our 30” tire equipped Maverick Sport’s engine and clutch feeling responsive and running in the best part of the powerband. We couldn’t have asked for more.

    How did it help off the line did you feel a big difference overall ?

      Overall the difference was very noticeable. The stock clutching works great with the stock tires. Going to 30" tires made everything about the power feel more sluggish. It wasn't as snappy off the line, didn't respond as quickly when you got off and back on the gas quickly. The engine just didn't seem to run at the right RPM much of the time compared to stock. The Dalton clutch kit seemed to regain the vast majority of the engines snappy feeling with the larger tires. Not addressing the clutch would have certainly put more wear and tear on the belt as well. It's a must have if your running larger tires.

      @utvondemand considering the motor and chassis is nearly similar between the Mavericks sports and the commander have they done anything different on the commander XTP to come stock with 30s?

    Did you notice that when you decrease throttle the rpm stay up. I just installed on a 4 seater.

    So is this just for the secondary clutch with 2 different spring choices or one in primary and other in secondary..I'm looking for one for my 21 800 maverick trail

      One was for the primary and the other for the secondary. Some of Dalton's kits are adjustable. This one was not.

    What kinda mph loss did you experience with the clutch kit?

      We ran larger tires in conjunction with our Dalton clutch kit Resulting in a significant increase in top speed. This kit was spot on. We didn't seem to lose anything in acceleration either. We were extremely happy with the results.

      Thanks I have 2016 commander 800 with 29’s and clutch kit I lost like 15 mph which damn with my buddy’s 1000 commander but looking into upgrading to this model thanks for input
