@@kenshowtosandreviews4320 you're welcome, its kinda annoying how some youtubers drone on for like 5 minutes about their personal life or whatever or interpersonal relationships or their channel before getting to the actual video
NOOOO graphite and any other Lubricant WILL gunk it up. Maybe not right away but it will. REM Oil is very thin. Even Mineral Oil is too thick. Gunny Glide Magic Oil is only other. REM Oil can be purchased anywhere even at walmart
@@kenshowtosandreviews4320 I was thinking something like Otis dry lube spray. I use it on my firearms with great results. I also have some nano lube I might try
Almost all otf knives will have a little bit of blade play, it's just part of the design to make it work more reliably, not really a flaw. The only real exceptions are a zero tolerance $2000+ knife, or the new zbt knives that microtech just came out with, but people have complained that once it's tuned even the slightest bit of lint can throw it off again. Its just a tradeoff for having an otf.
Just put it in a plastic bottle with nearly boiling water with some Dawn and give it a shake for about 5 min then put 2 drops of oil down the shaft afterwards will be really clean.
Is this method effective? Would I need to remove any parts? Or just set it in there to soak as is? Tia! Someone went swimming with my favorite otf and now it’s like caked glue to the point where it won’t even deploy 🤦♂️ I’ve attempted finding the same one to just buy a new one, but for the life of me, I can not find it, so I would really like to repair it lol.
This video is a huge timesaver. I was about to submit a warranty claim on a knife I bought new a year ago but never carried. Blade would drag constantly and lock intermittently. Thanks!
I’m not an expert but it’s oil the worst thing to use? No doubt oil might clean it in the short term …but you’re cleaning it with what is basically a magnet for more build-up going forward. I would think lithium grease or something dry would be loads better at preventing build up over time. Good idea though about using the opening for compressed air.
@@eleven9286Don't blindly believe everything that Microtech says. I use Heretic Knives oil in all my knives, including OTF. A couple of drops are enough for the mechanism to work normally. And no dust accumulation.
Thanks man, love how simple and straightforward this video is, no fuss no bs
Thank you for the comment that really means a lot!

Ran mine through the washing machine on accident. This helped a ton, thanks!
Nice!
Might wanna put a little Rem oil on them needle nose. 😂 thx for the video!
lol, you made my day. That’s hilarious
I'm new to otf knives. But wouldn't dry lube be better? It doesn't attract lint and other impurities like oil does..?
That sounds like a solid option and smart! What are you thinking, graphite?

The lightsaber pocket knife just bought a microtech and a kershaw livewire love them
You frying hot wings inside there later? No compressed air before or after?
You just made my day! This was hilarious
What should I do if my blade is wiggly? I already tried tightening the screws and it didn’t work.

I wonder if Balistol would do the trick?
100%, I know a few guys who use strictly ballistol for their knives

That’s a fantastic idea! I’ll do another video on your method and give you a shout out!

Should you some Rem oil on your hand tools 😮

You're definitely not an expert. Microtech themselves say explicitly to use REM Oil on their website.
@@eleven9286he said he wasn’t an expert. Ya know, there are ways of informing and even correcting people, without condescension, right?
