One of the worst streets I go down. I personally don’t care there’s no bike lane I care more there’s tons of pot holes for my 23 tires. Protected lanes just cause so many issues on these narrow rodes. I’ve always rode with traffic the almost 40 years I’ve been riding. Reminds me of how bad Ashland Ave gets and Milwaukee once you get west of Western.
Judson?? Why would you go up Judson and not Hinman? And if you know you’re going to Trader Joe’s why care about all the other businesses that you pass by? Just go there. I live on Chicago Ave. and frequently look out my window to see people struggling to claim a space between parked cars and speeding trucks and busses whizzing by. And I always wonder why they don’t just go one block over to Hinman. No doubt the serious bike athletes who want to go at high speed might not like the speed bumps and negotiating with the few cars that might meet them at each stop sign. But if making time, or getting a workout by going at high speed is the goal, how much are you really going to see of the businesses you speed by? May as well take Hinman and enjoy the quiet tree lined path with much fewer cars. Personally, I use Hinmam exclusively, or as often as possible. I take it North to Davis and cut over on that bike lane to the NU bike lane. When going south along the NU path, I turn at Davis and go the wrong way down that bike lane, to cut over to Hinman and stay off of Chicago Ave. as much as possible. It’s like a protected bike path. Maybe they should put down the green paint along the way, and maybe have flat parts at the end of each speed bump that allow speeding bikes to go by fast.
Love to see you riding around and talking about how important it is to have safe bike lanes and infrastructure.
completely agree. i live in a town where there are zero bikes. would be so much quieter and safer with them
im done with trying to share a single lane unless its exceptionally wide like at 2:58
Great video. Once the bike lane appeared I was so envious. Also: Shame on that truck! Shame! AND LOL "Serious Cyclists"
