THIS is VERY BEST Eiffel Tower Video I have ever seen! It was SO GOOD that my legs started to shake and tremble as we got higher and higher! THANKS for the "warning"!~ ♥♥♥♥
Thank you so much for sharing. I can't travel because of a lifelong disease. Your videos make it possible to see many of the places I wanted to visit, as if I were there.
When we were in Paris, we took a tour up the tower that we had booked before we came. Our delightful guide shared many fascinating details, which I know your subscribers will enjoy. While I watch, I'll type! According to our guide, there was more than a little backroom dealing going on to get Eiffel's design chosen as the one to grace the World's Fair. He apparently had some friends in high places on the selection committee. At pretty much the last minute, the rules for submissions were changed to state that all submissions had to have a square platform of 4 pillars. Submissions also had to be of a certain height. There were other stipulations made which were like copies of the blueprint of the Eiffel Tower! Clearly, Eiffel's friends changed the rules to pretty much leave only his submission as the qualifying one! But without those backroom deals, we could've had a 1000 foot guillotine, which was one of the submissions! The French are well known for protesting, and going on strike. In fact, a few days before our vacation in 2018, the staff of the Tower went on strike. We were heartbroken! Luckily, the strike was short-lived, and we indeed saw Paris from the top of the Tower. When the tower was being built, the workers went on strike after reaching the first level. The tower is much higher now, they said, and they deserved danger pay! Eiffel relented and paid them more. Upon reaching the second level, they again went on strike, claiming that the ever-increasing height warranted more pay. This time Eiffel countered by saying that if they fell now, or fell later when the tower was higher, they would be dead either way. So no extra pay. The workers went back to work. Thirdly, to keep workers happy, Eiffel had to provide each worker with a lunch and two glasses of wine. This kept them on the job, so that they would not wander off and leisurely come back whenever they had finished their lunch, which is the French way! I know I wouldn't want to be perched hundreds of feet in the air with two glasses of wine in me! As always, you took us somewhere special. Our first look at the Eiffel tower as we walked out of our hotel room is a memory that will always stay with us. Thanks as always.
Thank you for the great tour. I appreciate your decision to put the CC. Because I listen to audiobooks while watching your tours. This way of you putting CC is amazing cause I can translate it automatically. I know it need your extra time. But I will watch your videos however you decide, with audio comments or CC.
We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow Your video bring us power and love back into our life.......Huge subs from us,thanks for sharing and keep going!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent! You did a wonderful job filming this. Your camera is exquisite, the image it's crystal clear, the view is unbeatable! Thank you for posting. I am blown away! Greetings from Washington DC, USA.
Hi Isaac, hope you are doing well, this is Dave, am on my wife's tablet, just finished watching the video , very enjoyable, the views the tower from the ground level and the top levels are spectacular! You can see the whole Paris, at 18:14 and 31:52 you captured the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, priceless, I got goosebumps, this video was indeed a stress reliever, can't wait to travel again.
Hey Dave, thanks again for watching. I am working on the captions right now of the full Paris walk that I'll be posting up tomorrow. So far I have 2 hours completed...out of 5.5 hours. :)
Brings back some great memories from 2018. Thanks! For myself, when we went, the very top level was very crowded, and though it's the highest spot, we really enjoyed the second level for a little more room to move around. I had a 360 camera, too, when we went, and even though there are signs saying don't do this....(shhh, don't tell anyone!), I pushed my insta360 camera on the invisible selfie stick through the grates and got an amazing view of being suspended in air high above and outside the Tower itself. It's pretty cool! Thanks again for this video!
I love this tour. The captions about the construction and purpose of the tower are interesting. The views from each level are spectacular. Thank you for this walking tour.
Lovely video 😀 I am scared of heights but managed (just) to the 2nd level when we visited. My favourite place to see it is from the Trocadero, looking across at night time when it is lit up 😘
Was lucky enough to visit the tower back in the 80's. Wonderful views. I wish you would have grabbed a shot of Eiffel's apartment. I think there is a window now into it.
I love your videos. The captions are great and you highlight so much. I stayed in Levallois-Perret in 2014. Came to Paris to see the Rolling Stones on their Europe-only tour. Beautiful area of Paris and quiet. The Luxembourg Garden Statue of Liberty is the replica of the original, which was moved to the Musee d'Orsay in 2012, the year I first visited the museum. There are, I think, 5 Statues of Liberty in Paris and one flame which stands overlooking the tunnel where Princess Diana died. The flame was there years before her death, but has become part of an "unofficial" memorial to her.
Hi Dionna, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I didn't realize there are 5. I don't think I said that in the captions did I? So you were just there for a visit or did you stay there for a while. I'd like to go back again this summer. I hope you visit again soon.
@@ProWalks Thank you for your reply! Most people aren't aware of that. In 2012, I was there for 3 1/2 weeks, in Le Marais; then 2014, and lastly, in 2017, I stayed in the 20eme, near Pere Lachaise. Yeah, I need to get back. Did you do a walk in Le Marais?
My wife and I were there in 2018. It was very crowded on all levels but a beautiful view. I really preferred to see the tower from the ground away from the crowds.

@@kensellar Yes, thank you for letting me see such a great construction
Thanks for posting! May 2022, we will be staying at the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel hotel which I was able to see in your video. It is about 400 meters from the tower. I've been to Paris many times, but never went up in the tower, that will change next year!
It's amazing, you don't realize just how big it is until your up there! That is some view, but when you reached the ground among the grass and greenery, it seemed much more peaceful. There use yo be a race to the top of the Empire State Building, I knew a few people who did it. I wonder if there's one up the Eiffel? I hiked up Long's peak in Colorado to the 13,000 foot level, but I was young, I doubt I could get very far up that tower today:) Cheers, Rik
Great Video. Felt like almost being there. BTW, just wondering if there is a marker where Franz Reichelt jump to his death in February 1912 testing his parachute he invented. There is a 1:36 British Pathe video of the jump on UA-cam .
On the ascent, can you go level 1, level 2, the summit and then back to the ground? Or is the ticketing system go to 2, the summit, then down to level 1 and then the ground?
You can choose which option you want when you buy your tickets online or down below at the ticket office. You can only go to the first level if you want. Once you are up in the tower though, you don't have to purchase anything else.
I have Vertigo....so......THIS is the only way I will ever see the view from the TOP. Thank you for waiting in line. I APPRECIATE IT! 😊 The thing that really bugs me is when in the middle of a GLOBAL PANDEMIC, I see IGNORANT people walking around in a crowd, wearing their mask 😷 with their GINORMOUS 👃 sticking out, or on their chin.....they might as well take it off.....then.of course there are the ones who DO to take a picture 📷..... or simply don't bother with one. PERIOD. If they have "Breathing Issues", they can wear a face 🛡 shield.....or....... go back AFTER the PANDEMIC......this is hardly an "Essential Trip"!
What an amazing view! I really love your video. Thank you for sharing. May I use 2-3 seconds of this clip for the video I make? I'll leave the source in the description, if you allow.
