- Stephen Wiltshire is an artist who was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 years old. Though he had difficulty verbally communicating, he loved to draw-and had a remarkable and powerful memory for what he saw. Stephen has turned this into a career as an architectural artist, with the extraordinary ability to recreate cityscapes in incredible detail entirely from memory. His talents have taken him all over the world, and his beautiful work is as impressive as his talents.

Nice to see people who have found their call in life
and here I am just trying not to forget things within half an hour....
but there's always someone worse... or better in this case this guy is my inspiration.

T. G amen.
true. it may take some time but we will find it eventually
"You cant draw without a reference"
This guy: *laughs in photographic memory*
actually u can but its still funny
You can, but you'd mess up real bad during the process.
It's still a reference tho
KUDOI! HAMITTO PAPURU
You can 100% draw without a reference, and also, he, technically IS using a reference.
Bruh he’s clearly taking a screenshot with his eyes
damn
I mean obviously
It's called photographic memory he's a savant
That's an amazing talent to have!
Rynostryker TTM it's not a talent, it's a condition.
Dylcool thank you
its really hard to draw panoramic view on canvas that big. even with pic. so amazing
I wish to have or to get that condition I forget about stuff so easily. It hard to leave without a memory you know.
He has savant syndrome
why this kind of video too short. i want to know about him more
google.
Nero_Faintly wow man. nice.
There's a whole documentary about him already out there.
Yup same here

I really find it fascinating that autism is a disability but many end up being one of the most academic achieving people in the world
Or have talents like this dood :)
N8er_ butter People with autism really often have problems that are hard to notice and will be hidden. For instance social skills are very hard to obtain. For instance all of that stuff around falling in love seems normal for normal people, but autistic people often don't have any idea how things like flirting or dating works (or even, what flirting exactly is).
This video also confuses Savant syndrome with autism. Read Wikipedia or some autism blogs for better info ;)
N8er_ butter Savants sometimes autists have some form of left hemisphere dysfunction together with a great right hemisphere facilitation. It's goes in spades om the compensation for the damaged side. This people have amazing talents but for some reason have impairment on the things that most normal people do.
It's like putting all your points into one skill in a video game. You are really good at one thing but bad at another.
Hey
It is actually one of the most stunning abilities i have ever seen
This is art not a circle on paper
true that
fuc u man my circle is art :'(
Frank Claessens have you seen my penis drawing in public toilet ? it's a true art ;)
LOL modern art
Modern Art had gotten worse now they don't even need to draw a circle a white canvas sold for 20 mil
I can't even draw a building while it's next to me :). This guy can draw a whole city with one look.
maybe drawing is not for you. maybe its music, poetry or film?
MarkFreak his memory works differently so he can recall every detail. drawing takes a lot of pratice
Well i cant draw with one look but if i remember it i may draw a building or suburb just not a whole city.
Yeah,quite same prblm,I remembered something & draw something else😜
MarkFreak You'll know why your name comes up when the purge happens
Plot twist: his headphones are actually telling him what to draw and where to put it
yesnt
I want that headphone!
Lmaooo
underrated
no way I was actually about to comment that!
Meanwhile in 2019:
*_Banana taped to wall sells for more than a million!_*
Its 2020 sir
Meanwhile here in 2043 skid mark draws are going for 3.4 million

Just imagine how he sees the world through his eyes, how he feels when immersed in a big city surrounded by whirring cars, people and lights, imagine how strong of a connection he has to each environment to be able to depict it on paper with great detail after one look ,
truly a gift 🌻
Wow... never thought of it that way!
Don’t bully the autistic kid,

@@Zoronii Wait really you remember a random guy that you watched on TV 5 years ago? I think they should make an video about you! xD

I hope when i become a teacher and have autistic students, i can find the students' ways to connect to others too.
Watched this documentary...this man is incredibly gifted.
Im so happy that he has such an amazing talent!
He even appeared on Top Gear a few years ago. An amazing artist. 👌🏽
This guy's talent isn't drawing, it's his incredible memory. The drawing skills came through hard work and practice.
Imagine how many pens ran out of ink when he drew a picture

I have never seen anything like it. I am so amazed. I can’t draw a line without rechecking the original. What an extraordinary talent you have. Keep it up.
This is one of the greatest gifts someone can have. That's an amazing memory!
Absolutely amazing and a special kind of genius.
he can literally score full makes for every exam. Cos he can just memories the whole textbook
I would love to see a full length interview with him. Absolutely amazing work!
This is so inspiring, and a beautiful story!
And I forget what I was going to do when halfway out of the doorway.
Damn.. he's all grown up now.
I remember seeing his story when he was a young teenager.
thats incredible! i hope hes continuing his passion
This is incredible. It reinforces that EVERYONE has a special gift to offer humanity. How wonderful!!! What a gift!
Awesome!
This artist must have watercooled GPU with 100 terabytes of SSD slaped onto his watercooled overclocked brain..
Don’t forget the 1tb of ram
It’s one thing to be able to remember something but it’s another to draw it in detail. Incredible
The amazing power of the brain and heart when combined. Thank God teachers saw this talent early on. May have been thrown away or buried in shame.
Great channel by the way
*This man* : Draws Cityscapes from memory
*Me* : Just squeezing my brain to remember today's date
What an absolutely lovely human.
My grandma nursed him as a child she was one of the teachers who noticed his drawing talent. I saw the letters they wrote to each other.
I can’t even remember if I showered or not XD THIS GUY HAS PURE TALENT
imagine him in art class
Very inspiring!!! There are beautiful things in this World. We just have to take our time to recognize and appreciate them. Peace!
It's so inspiring to see what wonderful things people are capable of
It is sad that they don't point out that savant syndrome, which causes those "super-human" skills and Autism are not the same.
Most of the savants also have autism, but the chance of having savant syndrome if you are on the autistic spectrum is basically zero.
There are several billion autistic people out there (3.29% of all humans) but only a few hundred people with savant syndrome. (But special interests with good, but not superhuman skills are very common)
And to those, that think autistic people only behave weird and shout around:
- Some of the people with autism are very sensitive to sounds or lights in their environment, because the brain has problems filtering out the background noise. This may cause that behaviour.
- Autism sometimes occurs together with Tourette Syndrome
- They might get bullied, maybe in a very subtle way, which may cause that behavior.
- Other problems that I didn't mention can also occur.
And: Autism ranges from barely noticeable to very bad disabilities.
Due to that variety it is unfair to throw all of them together. Everyone that is autistic deserves to be seen as an individual. If you see one human that does things you don't like doesn't mean that all humans are the same, too.
*There are several billion autistic people out there (3.29% of all humans)*
OK!
What is savant syndrome?
That's an A+ essay (but you've made a good point!)
Everybody gangsta till he draws your house
I remember living in London as a child and watching a documentary about him..back then he drew the King's Cross St.Pancras building from memory..35 years have passed and he's still at it..amazing..
So inspiring! This is true passion.
Being autistic doesn’t make you any less human.
😢.
What gives with people who have to dislike a video like this? I had a crappy day too, but I'll be damned if my life sucks enough to make the effort to click the little thumb down on a video that is impossible to dislike. I'm just glad I'm not one of you few miserable earthlings that do that crap.
Frank Boston This video confuses Savant syndrome with autism. People with autism really often suffer from all that misinformation that is spread around that topic. Read Wikipedia or some autism blogs for more info
Thank you Ein

Yes, I read him in my book. It's very inspiring I love him.
If he were to see a guy trying to rob the store he would draw him for the cops.
It must get to a point where he messes up two different places and makes them both in one picture
But nobody notices because they don't remember the scene well enough to know the difference
