The fact that he signs every painting "I love you" just makes my heart melt. That's just amazing to me.
Leah Grace yeah i love that
It made me jerk a tear 😢
Same!
There are two things I see in here.... 1. A very supportive mother who gives her all to support her son's passion. 2. A very happy boy, as evident when they were viewing his work online. 2:53 😊

I agree and hope most people will ignore the people who can't see that.

He writes "I love you" with his signature. He wants to spread love and beauty! I hope he makes more and touch those that buy and see his works.

Yes I agree!
I find abstract art hit or miss like that. It either works for you, or it doesn't, and what works is going to be different for everybody. I'd find someone who consistently liked abstract art broadly rather suspect, tbh.
@@seigeengine thats not even abstract art.
@Jannick What isn't? Abstract art is all art that does not solely depict concrete reality.
on the surface That is pretty much all there is to admire in abstract art. Colors and how they fit together
If a flower fails to bloom, we need to fix the environment and not the flower. That wonderful quote aptly describes this mother son relationship. Wish every kid comes gifted with an angel mother like her!

That made me smile so much. he's doing what he loves to do with little knowledge of painting. it just shows his need to create something. i love that.
he sounded kinda dumb tbh, almost like he's autistic
He has achieved the ability to make abstract art not pretentious. By his very nature, he cannot make something with pretense. His work is pure raw unadulterated unfiltered human feeling put into color. Beautiful.
Well said.

im autistic. im "higher functioning" as they like to call it (i dont personally like that term though), but im largely nonverbal in person and have issues functioning with other things. Niam's mother is a wonderful lady and im so happy to see that shes so supportive of his passions and isn't forcing him to sell or paint. she isn't exploiting this, she is supporting it and only sells a painting if he's alright with it. as an autistic person myself, i can really relate to Niam. Due to my "high functioning" status (again, i really dislike that term but what else am i supposed to call it) i went to university and became a "gifted student" just because of my grades but, ultimately, i had to drop out due to the overwhelmings stress and the fact that i just didn't like it. now, i paint and draw. im not a good artist but i can completely relate to Niam finding a form of communication through abstract art. i love the way paint squishes in my hands and i dont personally like using many brushes because i like the textures of the paint and canvas. my mom isnt too fond of art. i hope that one day my mom will be as supportive as his
I hope too.
Good luck with it!
Keep at it, man!! Hope you get what you're looking for.

@2 MD yeah I agree, it's pretty annoying and bad how so many people wanna make everyone else like them, and so many people have group think and what not, it's best to not try to satisfy them and be someone else for them, it's best to just be who you are, to just be you and then you'll find people who actually care and like you for you because you won't be hiding it and well they'll see you and good company will come

I have had many people point out things which are true.
I have changed up my art allot since last year, Ive split my art/profiles and allot of my art has been removed since they werent great photo's of my work. Since then I have also destroyed allot of art that I loved due to mental health.

Amazing! It's seriously a skill, that most of us actually find the most peace and distraction in. I have BPD and just finally found enough confidence and mental freedom to do art and it's awesome. There's not one person in my therapy group, that hated it. We all enjoyed it and created amazing pieces.
His work is beautiful and as an 15 year old artist myself I can understand his insatiable desire to create. Plus he obviously enjoys it and that is what matters most.👌💖💖
The true hero here is his SUPPORTIVE MOTHER. She deserves the loudest applause. Most people with challenged kids would disconnect emotionally from them.
I would buy the painting just for the “I love you” on the back
Awe, when he said the one word " happy " my heart melted. 💖
"How you feeling?"

Oh my heart!! 😭💔♥️♥️
Such an innocent and true response.
He really got good eyes for colors which is something I stuggle with the most! I love his work they are beautiful!
Just learn color theory

Mars Thulite yeah it’s amazing how he can take some cool colors and splatter them all over a canvas absolutely unreal.
I love the colours he uses. The one with the blue splashes made me shiver. LOVE LOVE LOVE🙂
The one with the blue splashes is the best!!! Amazing! I totally would have bought it.
Beautiful. A mother who understands her son, even if he lacks words.
The love that mother has for her child is just beautiful
the money that child makes for his mother is also beautiful
Those paintings are insane I love abstract because it has no strict rules, it's freedom not only in the making but also in what you see. You see and understand whatever you want and that is wonderful.
You sound so pretentious, you should be an art critic
Not abstract, non-representational
If you can give it any meaning, it means this so called "art" is in fact meaningless
Or so meaningful that everyone finds one.

Then you completely miss the point of art since it’s all subjective

I couldn't have said it any better. A mothers love is showcased just with the smile cascading from her eyes.

True. Unconditional love and all
Best movie quote The Crow "Mother is the name of God on the lips of all children."
I adore this texture. Build up of texture is difficult to make so rich due to the insane drying time of oils. He understands this, and makes good use of both color and texture. I am an Art Historian and abstract isn't really my thing (I prefer impressionism) but abstract, despite its "simple" nature is very impressive and awe inspiring in person, especially the sizes of canvasses he chooses. But, that aside, it doesn't really matter if you "get it" or think it's "not art", the comment section of this video is appalling and some of the commentators should feel ashamed by the things they've written about this young artist.
it's acrylic not oil
The0melas hehe
I think art is one of those areas that just begs for people to be pretentious. It's like a trap for terrible human beings. Look, we've caught one already.
Shay Dawn his paintings are really gorgeous. Full of color and life. I normally not a fan of abstract but his art is the only exception and I find it really appealing. This kid is truly a genius.
@yodasodaskoda so well said. thank you.
What a mother. To help one's child flourish regardless of circumstance is a thing of beauty.
He sees the world like this...beautiful and happy ! God bless all the children!
I honestly dont understand this type of art, but he do what he can, and make his mother happy.i just can say to him good luck, keep it up .
Astyn abstract art is for people who have no talent. anyone can throw different colors on a canvas. only few can be a Rembrandt or a do Vinci. Good for this kid though
Well if Rembrandt already existed, what's the use in trying to be Rembrandt? If the camera exists, what's the point in saying that an artist is only valuable if they're painting something that "looks real"? If we're basing the value of people based on if they're as good as Rembrandt, then we should stop making paint because it’s not going to happen. Plus there's cameras that recreate what we see with our eyes with exact detail, so what's the point??
The thing is, he's not trying to be Rembrandt. He probably doesn't even know who that is. What's important is he's making paintings with little to no knowledge of the history of art. He just feels the need to make something. SOME people find that to be very valuable because it represents a just a very simple, very pure need to create something.
+Nick Mougros Lol. Mastery is simple. It just takes time and resources. A couple billion people could acquire the skills of a classical master these days if they actually wanted to.
But hey, all 8 billion of us can be smug douchebags if we want. Some of us just choose not to. You might join us, Nick.
seigeengine I disagree. You are basically saying one in 8 people can become as skilled as far Vinci. That is an incredible overstatement. Tops a 100 people that are alive now, but even that is a biased statistic. Anyways I'm nitpicking. The guy is acting like a douche, I'll give you that
Astyn ikr
You are an amazing mom!!! I have Asperger's and know a little about the struggles one faces when on the spectrum. Thank you for supporting your son, even when it means driving to the studio at midnight just so he can paint.
Same here!
no joke. Niam Jain used to go to the school i used to. (The Laurel School). I had no idea he was going to become an artist!! I knew him for about 2 years and we were good friends!
wheres that yanny school? i think my cousin was studying there....

I painted something similar to this for my art class and my teacher have me an F
Art classes aren't very welcome of more abstract art and really restrict students creativity. It just goes to show that the education system isn't very good.
Millennial Trapdoor I don’t know about a lack of creativity but the school system is very limited and prefers realism art which is really sad with the huge popularity of surrealism. My teacher was touchy about the fact that I traced an objects outline smh
Get out of that class
@@reuben8912 Surrealism can be extremely detailed.
@@millennialtrapdoor2203 agree. educated as a graphic designer and never got hired by one.
These abstracts speak to me . It not just a mess of paint like other " prodigies I've seen . Even with abstract I think they need to speak to you . Emotions , depth should be there . He has it .
Guys, don’t hate. This is ABSTRACT. The colours have meaning, not the skill.
There is actually a lot of skill involved in what he's doing with those colours. He isn't trained so he is working intuitively and that's impressive. He is respecting the rules of art and creating works that rival veteran artists. People are hating because they don't understand or recognize what makes his art "good." They may not like the style, or not understand what makes any artwork effective.
Thats fantastic. He may not speak , but he has a voice nonetheless , and it is screaming ...I LOVE YOU through art
Why is almost every comment about his art negative? As an artist myself I can see the beauty of his paintings. Abstract paintings aren't as easy to creat as you might think. If you don't like it, then just ignore it instead of being so bashful towards the paintings.
More.jams.than.jimin because he is just splatting paint on a canvas.
He can't even speak how is he telling such an intricate story by playing with some paint?
Nick Player the fact that he can't talk doesn't mean that he can't completely communicate. Many people who struggle with verbal communication apt for art to tell their story. Also, abstract art can be difficult to pull off. You need an understanding of texture, form and colour theory (to say the least).
+Nick Player How he is splatting paint on the canvas is how he communicates.
The results say something. They communicate.
If they couldn't, abstract art wouldn't bring some people to tears, yet it can.
There is no beauty in his paintings. Abstract art signifies the collapse of civilization.
Because of the hivemind like mentality that anything negative can not be seen and must be disliked.
When Niam said "happy" to the reporter's question "how are you feeling" I cried.
I get soo attached to my art, I could never sell them😭 THEY ARE MY BABIES!
She’s such a good mom:) it’s so beautiful the way she respects her son and his art.
She just earns alot
This is a sensitive topic, and anyone else not understanding the art, you are not alone. Just because you don't like his art work doesn't make you a bad person. Had this not been an autistic person, more people would have been openly critical about this topic. However he is autistic, and that changes the manner in which this video would be approached. I do like his art work in that sense, but i would be truthful and say that i do not like this style of art.
It is similar to the work of Jackson Pollok and isn't really about the shapes(which most art is), but more about the chaotic colours and contrast. A lot of art is used to tell a story, this kind of art is used to portray chaos and feelings. To create this you need a good technique and skill to make sure the colours look stiking and don't mix together into a brown when trying to create texture. So I'd say even if he wasn't autistic that there wouldn't be a lot to critique him on. It's his emotions, his art, he will know it's flaws better than anyone else.
@@mikabrown4123 His color palette is quite mishmash and I don't see any story of the painting itself so how do you know what he is truly feeling when he paint his paintings?
Yeah, I'm not a fan of abstract art myself. But that doesn't mean that in not rooting for the kid.
My feelings too . . . well said. If this were done by an average person it may not sell as well. Also, because of Niam's limitations it feels more genuine in the concept of conveying emotions into color and form.
Well not everybody is a fan of abstract. As an artist myself, i actually find it hard to draw ‘abstract’ pieces. Some people are just... good at it.
He is very talented I hope his angel of a mother continues to nurture his gifts
Being autistic myself, it’s deeply important for me to see that. I’m highly creative too and knowing that there are people who do want to understand all of us on the spectrum, it leaves me with hope 😊
When the reporter says what are you feeling right now? When he says Happy makes my heart happy too.
He is very lucky to have a great and encouraging mother.
Your art pieces are so beautiful Niam!
I’m crying because all of his paintings are signed with “I love you”! It’s so pure!! I’m so happy!!
I am a high school art teacher and I LOVE this video. I have had autistic students and they give the other students the gift of showing them a different way of seeing the world through art. Keep painting, Niam!
I used to think abstract art was overrated because anyone can splash paint onto a canvas randomly. But his art is so sophisticated
Not my kind of art but always nice when people of any ability find joy in art
I have been doing art for a few years now and I can understand the expressions he puts into these paintings. He really has a gift. For those of u haters in the comments, I’d like to say maybe u just see it as him smothering paint on a canvas but I really see his expressions and emotions in those paintings. He has such talent that maybe only artists can see themselves as it seems, but he really does and he is amazing. And just another note to the haters: If u think his artwork is so bad, I’d like to see ur amazing artwork on the news.
きYoki one second

Well, not being disabled can be quite a handicap for modern artists.
I agree with you, lots of abstracts aren’t easy, all artworks have to be like that or no one will buy it. But, lots of people here aren’t haters, they’re just saying that they don’t like the artwork, which is perfectly fine. Everyone perceives art in a different way. You don’t need to be good at art to have opinions on artwork.
@@wuandondo4832 Eh, personally I seem to see no small amount of people saying that it's just splattering paints and that's easy. What do you think? Are they haters or just have a different view of the artwork?
He’s not a prodigy, he’s a savant. He’s amazing, the layers and technique are unbelievable. I could see his painting in a famous art museum and think they were by someone famous.
Not huge into abstract anything but I adore his mothers bond and supportiveness!!!
There are a lot of way better artists who deserve recognition

@Tom Nook Yes, the videos are really encouraging especially for a pandemic so I would watch them!! Have a great night/day!
Just say that you're autistic, that will do....Ok,I'm joking..
I feel like people think that abstract art is easy. You just get different paints and put it onto a canvas. In some cases that might be true but most of the time abstract art is way harder than just putting paint onto a canvas. Plus, that mom is a good mom

FluffyFeatheryFuck 😁😁😁
Easier than painting humans? Animals? Landscapes? People work hard and this guy just scribbles yet he become famous because he is "special"
Charlostain Sawshades That’s the same thing with mumble rap and true meaningful rap, or Pop music and Classical music. The consensus on who likes what will always be split in the arts and that’s completely fine, however I think realism and extreme photorealistic art is more like classical music, it’s complex, there’s a lot of rules to follow and a lot of people take it as being boring, while abstract art is like pop music, it can be vivid and showcase emotions like a rap song or be absolutely horrible and meaningless like most mumble rap songs. Abstract art really doesn’t have any rules, except for maybe sticking to the colour wheel, it’s simple in its ways like Jazz and a lot of people like it.

People who think it's easy to just splash colors on canvas should really try it before they speak. This kid seems to grasp what colors go well, and what dont. What mix, and what dont. Half the time I've tried to make things like this I end up chucking the canvas away because the paints melt together and make aweful colors or it just looks bad lol. I really liked quite a few of the color combos he had in this video, if I had the cash I would buy some!

Abstract is much harder than it appears. I’m an artist who’s practiced with many mediums, and who specializes in realism and concept sketching, but never have I ever struggled with something as much as I have with abstract. There is so much more too it than it looks. He’s done a marvelous job with his paintings.

I can assume that his parent manages his finances and/or manage his trust. They won't always be there for him, and I'm certain they have made accommodations for his care. Taking care of special needs requires time, effort, and money. With a trust, it can be set up to provide income for the remainder of his life, once they pass. I wish them the greatest of successes.
I'm happy for him. :)
Bless that mother, bless her to her very soul, and the son as well, what a bold and incredible little guy, I wish nothing but the absolute best for them.
